Papas & Tacos Mexican Food

The food is great. Green salsa is nice with a spice.Honestly, you can't really go wrong with anything that you ought because the food is just so flavorful period When I go on there for all the different veggie items , the wet veggie burrito next level. I've brought a ton of my needed friends here as well, and they swear by it.

Great Food, owner operated. Owner is a delight. Decorations are awesome as they get changed depending on holiday. Best Hard Shell TacosShrimp Burrito is legit, same with Azteca

My cousin and I stopped here around 10:30am on a Tuesday morning to grab brunch. He is a regular here and said it's a great hole-in-the-wall spot for burritos and tacos.I had the sausage breakfast burrito, which was delicious. The tortilla was fresh, warm, and flavorful, and every bite was good. Great no-frills spot for a satisfying meal.

Conveniently a short commute for me and a popular lunch option in the area is Papas & Tacos Mexican Food. I've only tried their rolled tacos and steak burrito, and my coworkers ordered some tortilla chips. The "large" bag of chips was $5 which came in a standard white paper bag, which was not that many chips, but they were still warm and freshly made to order. We ended up getting two bags, and I feel as if it's a bit steep for $10 tortilla chips :p The inside of the restaurant has multiple tables and not much to it besides the ordering counter. Sauces were rarely given with my order of 4 rolled tacos and steak burrito. They have two kinds which were mild and habanero. I did enjoy my burrito, however, the rolled tacos I probably would not order again. Overall, out of the many Mexican restaurants that are located in SD, I personally would come back just for the convenience of Mexican food in the general area! I called in my order so they allow phone orders and usually the food takes up for 15-20 minutes. We ended up waiting for a little over that because of the extra chips and they do get pretty busy during lunch hours.

My old review from 2008 no longer accurate. This place is great, they don't cook the meat until you order it, fresh every time. Everything's been updated.

convenient because my friend who I stay when visiting with lives a block away, probably my last time though. 4 rolled tacos $9.99! spicy carrots they charge and there were maybe 5 in the bag $.99. the tj tacos were good- still seem a bit steep in price, and they are tiny- like 2 bites!

Friendly, attentive service. Casual taco shop environment. I ordered the poblano burrito and it was really good. I would say, although filling, there was still room in the tortilla to stuff the burrito with more meat, veggies and cheese.

Perfect spot to hit for a last minute breakfast burrito before you get to the airport. We had a pair of Bacon, egg, cheese & potato burritos and we weren't disappointed. Crispy potato's and bacon contrast the soft eggs and cheese and the obviously fresh tortilla made a perfect combination. No frills, just what we wanted.

A local favorite. Sarah is such a friendly owner. We enjoy their California burritos with light sour cream. Horchatas are fresh and yummy.

We stayed at an Airbnb around the corner and ate here 4 times during our 5 day trip. Needless to say we really enjoyed it! The carne asada was top notch!
