Panera Bread

How long does it take to get a plain bagel, sliced, not toasted? 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes? Try 13 minutes. From the time I ordered until I got it. Some people would make a stink. Others would be very upset. Since I have worked food service, I don't get upset if it takes a while.A couple things I noticed; I think there was only 1 worker and the manager on duty, as she is the one who took my order. I knew it was going to be a wait when she gives me one of the buzzer things. That is ALWAYS a red flag that it's going to take longer than normal for a simple order like just a bagel and spread. Now this was a Sunday morning, and it was not busy. I would recommend to the manager and anyone who is short staffed, and has a very simple order like mine, to just do it then and there quickly. That would prevent getting a review like this. All it takes is for them to slice the bagel; I even requested for it NOT to be toasted, and I still got it toasted. I stood up at the counter where you get your food, and the worker obviously ignored me as she was making other orders. Also, the manager I know saw me sitting when I changed positions. If they had said, either one, hey your order is taking a little longer, or even sorry for the lateness of your order. I would have accepted that. As I said, I used to work food service. For those who don't understand what I mean; you have no idea what's going on behind the counter or in back. I think there was only two of them working, so they are probably doing double and triple duty. A simple explanation, an apology or even recognition that 'oops, we screwed up' and better get on this now, would go a long way. I've been the one at the counter, by myself and trying to get through a lot of customers. I have apologized and tried to get orders out as fast as possible. It wasn't busy. All the time I was waiting only 1 person came into pick up a to-go order. Since I love going to Panera and understand probably what was happening, will not stop me from going back to Panera. I may avoid this store in the future, as there are a number on Peneras near me, or I may even go a little farther if it doesn't take 13 minutes to get a bagel.This is probably just a situation of many things happening to cause the delay. But I also think that the only way a manager or business is going to know that there was problem is by reviews.

My goodness! Panera has SHRUNK. Went there with my child and the bread on the side is TINY. I used to be able to cut it in half and feed me and my kid. Now they ate it in two bites. The bread bowls used to be so big it was possible to share it or take it with you. It is super tiny now. There was almost no cheese in my French Onion Soup. There was also no service to really interact with other than the person who took my order (who was quite nice). The food tastes about the same, but the cost is higher for much smaller portions. I will still come from time to time, mostly because my kids like the Mac and Cheese, but for me alone I doubt I'll be back. Zupas a couple of blocks down will be getting more of my business.

When you walk in you're met with a bunch of tablets to take your order. I'm not a fan of those so luckily you can still order with a person. The lady that took our order was really nice. She was quick and helpful. Our order was ready quickly and everything was correct. My cinnamon crunch bagel and orange scone were great! My wife also got a bagel which was good.

Love the food, but it is very annoying to get where I'm going with no utensils to eat my yummy salad. What a waste.

I'm not a Panera Bread "regular". I wish I'd done my homework before visiting.The service was fast and friendly. When you walk in, there are tablets on hand to place your own order, though I opted to place mine at the counter with an employee.The employee was friendly and even told me I qualified for a free cookie. I just wish she had also told me there was an option to swap out the "side".I ordered the Mac and Cheese Bread Bowl. Both the Mac and Cheese and the sourdough bread were fine. A little black pepper would have been nice, but shakers were nowhere to be found. I guess the "default" side is a piece of baguette, but that seems like carb overload. I didn't know until after placing my order that I could have swapped it for another side (the cucumber salad sounded interesting).The Chocolate Chipper Cookie was good and left me with a "chipper" smile on my face.My only other concern was the dining room cleanliness. It seemed the carpet hadn't been vacuumed and some tables hadn't been bussed in the 30 minutes or so I was there. It wasn't the worst I've seen, though it was noticeable.I may return, but next time I'll keep the carbs in check.

Update-Tried a free delivery coupon. Order showed up 15 minutes before minimum time asked and "free delivery" was $1.Food was so-so. Greek salad was large, about average for the price. Hardly any feta cheese and finally got a second container of dressing that was full (as per what is the usual). However, again not nearly enough dressing for the size of the salad and dressing was extremely bland and hardly any feta cheese.Sandwiches included bacon ranch (always good). Another sandwich ordered was bacon, tomato basil. Laughable for price! Picture a full sandwich with two slices of bacon, a slice of tomato, and sauce on a piece of bread the size slightly larger than two playing cards. Cost: almost $10!!!. Nothing special regarding taste as well.Also ordered the Medetteranian (vegan), and it was twice the size of the bacon tomato basil. Only real difference is two really small strips of bacon! Food at Panera is pretty good, customer service at my location is excellent. Price point is not so good!!! I guess this is why they keep emailing me special coupons! Just give me a quality, not so expensive product! Why not auto discount any coupons?

Became severely ill from a sandwich here, upon inspection the meat was severely undercooked. Took a picture, contacted the health department, didn't hear from Panera for the three days I was out of commission and lost work. Panera refuses to take responsibility. Don't risk it.

Had this Great Sandwich at the Airport in New Orleans Chicken Cordon Melt it was gooood!!! So I thought I would try it here again. Not so fast Sandwich Maker!!!! The sandwich was Dry, Bread was toasted Well, Hard toasted . However, I returned the sandwich and they got it right. The service was excellent and the product a little pricey, but so is everything these days. A Hero ain't nothing but a SANDWICH!!!! Old Movie J

This is the only Panera I've had a bad experience with. First, the tablets you order on had a layer of grease on them. They don't seem to wipe them down. We ordered two tuna sandwiches with a Caesar salad, which we waited 30 minutes for. The tuna sandwich was just depressing. I'll include pictures because I can't even explain it. They put chicken in our Caesar salad, and at first we just assumed we made a mistake and ordered the salad with chicken. The receipt did not have chicken anywhere on it. It would've been fine, we could just pick it off, but there was just mountains of chicken on our salad that we did not ask for. They don't seem to clean the seating areas either, our table had napkins and a baby high chair still there.

Why did I forget this location is skimpy on the protein in their salad - literally only four strips about 3 inches long and the strips are pretty thin. I ordered the Asian chicken salad and had them keep off the wontons so this salad was pathetic mostly all lettuce for $11.00.
