I have been working right across from the pub for almost two years and I finally visited it yesterday with a friend. It was Memorial Day and we were trying to go somewhere else, but some places were closed so we walked around in a big circle and ended up close to work. (Which I feel like we do every time we are looking for food in the neighborhood...) The seating area was nice. It was a cloudy day but warm enough to sit outside, so we enjoyed sitting in the new outdoor patio section. My friend pointed out that the coffee beans in the coffee maker looked kinda old, but later we agreed that the coffee was quite good, to our surprise. On the other hand, I'd say the food was below average. I like fish tacos so I was somewhat feeling hopeful, but they were not good.

Very low key bar that serves some of the best friend fish and shrimp. I'm so glad we tried it and live super close by. The fish had the perfect crunch to it and melted in your mouth. The tartar sauce went with it so well and if you sprinkle some Lemon juice on it omggg. The shrimp I thought was the highlight of this place. They said it would be spicy shrimp and they delivered. Had the perfect Cajun seasoning to it and a lovely crunch! The cocktail sauce and lemon and tarts sauce just topped it off even better.

I'm being extra harsh on this restaurant because they claim to be the best fish n chips in town and their fried seafood is borderline disgusting. It's an affront to advertising ethics when there's such a gap between the claimed product and the actual experience. You may have a better time if you come here just for the drinks. I got the combo platter and tried every kind of fried seafood they serve and they all had a gross aftertaste characteristic of seafood that's past it's due date. I also tasted dirty oil in the batter, meaning they don't clean their deep fryer as often as they should. Do not eat here.

Hallelujah its all smiles after finding this Old Man dive bar serving exceptional fish n chips in the bowels of Fremont! So I stumbled into the throw back joint to grab a pint and discovered the tastiest fish n chips in all of Seattle. First off this place is all "OLD SCHOOL"so enjoy it, not many like it anymore. The menu has several pages of items , but it's all about the flakey cod fish served with fries. Beer battered strips exploding with flavor and yes a splash of fresher squeezed lemon and homemade tarter sauce add to the experience. Fries were perfectly deep fried and plenty m, plus as a bonus mound of coleslaw added just to give you some veggies. Lots of local brews including Georgetown Brewing options at the bar to wash it all down with to maximize your meal experience. Now my server was also the bar tender who was a salty pirate ( well maybe ) but who doesn't love pirates! The decor is defiantly dated but that's the charm. I'd recommend coming drinking & dining here, you won't regret it.

Dive bar. If you want attentive bartenders and great service and decor, go across the street to Fiasco and pay double. If you want a standard dive bar with excellent fish and chips and pitchers (I think 20 something for std drafts) then this is your spot. Great patio right on Stone Way, go up to the bar to order food and drinks. What makes the fish and chips excellent? Thin batter. Not the thick crispy kind you find in most places around town. Lemon, good tarter, Cole slaw and fries.Go, it's great.

I'm honestly befuddled by the 5 star reviews for their fish n chips specifically. My husband and I had been wanting to try them out for some time, based on all of the excitement around them, and finally made a trip over there to sink our teeth into what have been heralded by many as the best fish n chips in Seattle. The bartender was friendly enough when taking our order, and he recommended I try the tater tots with mine since my husband got the fries. He also recommended that I get them with the seasoning added. I love a crispy tot so I was sold. The food came out quickly (less than 10 minutes), and we were so excited to dig in. I grabbed a tot and noticed it was kind of falling apart as I lifted it up, but went ahead and popped it into my mouth; it was...mushy...and the seasoning was intense. They were so undercooked that they still had that aftertaste of frozen potato when you don't get them cooked up enough out of the freezer. While I appreciated the food arriving quickly, I would have been fine with it taking a few more minutes for the hot oil to give those tots the attention they deserved. My husband's fries were better, though marginally. So disappointing. I decided to move onto the fish, dipped it in the tartar sauce and took a bite. They were thinner cuts of fish than other places we've tried, but they had a nice and crispy bite to them. That's where the nice ended. The flavor and quality were severely lacking. Very bland. Not even close to the top 5 of fish n chips I've eaten. Overall, I'd say the coleslaw was the best part of the meal. Lesson learned. We'll stick with Little Chinook's when our fish n chips hankering strikes again.

***Fish and Chips Review, Friendly Staff, Outdoor/Indoor Seating***Wow their fish and chips are a must try. You can substitute the fries for tater tots which I absolutely enjoyed. The fish was fried lightly so you really enjoyed the meat of the fish rather than a thick coating of batter (which is what I commonly find). My friends had the french fries rather than the tots and they were salted beautifully. The lemonade I ordered had free refills which was great! Overall I really enjoyed the food and would totally come here again. 10/10 highly recommend!

Didn't get to try anything because they were closed, sat 6/22/24 at approx 1pm. I'd highly Recommend to call before going, especially if driving from a distance. No mentioning of it on social media or the website. However food still looks good enough to try and swing back another time. It Also looks like they have a parking lot available so you don't have to worry about finding street parking, however I could be mistaken.

I could def tell what bartender some of the reviews are mentioning but he seems like he's just gruff wouldn't take it personally. Fish and chips wasn't quite as meaty as I was hoping (it was a pretty thin cut) but the mouthfeel and flavor hit the spot and was served with a generous serving of chips and slaw.Ambience is old school dive and old school Seattle. I liked it, others may not.

Dog friendly pub with outdoor seating and parking lot. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and such nice vibes. Fun music in the outdoor area. Waiter offered the pups free bacon which is a plus! Will be coming back.
