I really really wanted to love everything about this place. The concept is open, great view, what looks like a pricey but good menu. Went here 2 seperate occasions. One of which was just drinks with friends which we did not indulge more than 2 drinks per person and sharing a couple apps. We all split the bill and still spent almost 80 after each. I get you go for the view, is what it is. Second time I brought my fiance, we were sat outside, great view, but I forgot a light coat and it was windy so we asked to be moved inside. The waitress was annoyed at this request even though they hadn't brought waters out yet. Once inside we ordered drinks, an appetizer, 2 small salads and we each got an entree. Loved the idea that their fries are cooked in beef tallow. The food was pretty good, little salty for me on the steak but well cooked. The drinks were lackluster, possibly the experience of the bartender. What was more upsetting is that we spent over $300 and both ended up with the worst food poisoning we have ever had. Both had to call out of work. For a meal that expensive, I would not have thought I'd spend the next 2 days in the bathroom. ***do not have photos as we do phoneless date nights.

This was our first time coming here. We have been wanting to try it and I am so happy we finally made it here. The building is beautiful, but I will say the first thing I noticed was how loud it was. It was very distracting and it was hard for my husband and I to have a conversation without feeling like I was yelling the entire time. Another downside was the bathroom. A space that large with the capacity for that many people should have more than just 2 restrooms. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. My only gripe about the food was that the steak was served on top of the frites. It's just inconvenient and it comes across as lazy presentation. Some people may be into fries covered in steak juice, but I personally prefer my fries crispy. It was of course inconvenient to cut the steak if it's on a bed of fries. The bao buns were incredible and a must have as a starter. The service was great and it was nice to see the chef come out and serve some of our plates. We will definitely be back, but it is not a casual dinner night. The price point is very high and will be more of a special occasion place for us.

I was here when they first opened up and have to say that their service just keeps getting better and better! We sat at the bar this time as we were only here for drinks but ended up ordering their hummus and pita + wings! Travis and Nikki were amazing! It was such a fun night overall and I'm very glad to have come here.

2.5 to 3 stars for me.My first time here was with a friend for what we thought would be dinner, but after seeing the prices per dish, we decided to just split two dishes to minimize the expenses. The drinks are already $15+ each, so we were already at $30 for just 2 drinks. We split the $23 ravioli and the $15 brussel sprouts (the latter is the price for an app!) Both were tasty, yes, but the prices were a bit ridiculous for a common pasta dish and brussel sprouts. My second experience here was yesterday. It was empty and we were glad they took us in without a reservation for a late-ish lunch. Again, my party (parents and spouse) thought the prices were kind of wild, so my parents opted for two salads and a claw chowder, while my husband stuck to the shrimp app and a bourbon. I myself also got a drink and then the chicken. We ordered bread, which with their prices, should be complimentary. What is there to say about the salads? It's just lettuce with some sauce. My chicken dish was fine, nothing to return for. It came with mash and some veggies, some which were really hard (it was zucchini and a mystery beige veggie that was VERY crunchy). The most laughable was the shrimp appetizer. $17 for a small pile of shrimp with store bought tasting cocktail sauce was just sad. Our waiter was nice, but kind of dropped off from checking in on us after a gentleman requested to sit outside. Again, it was just our table and him. Also, there were some young looking kitchen staff goofing off outside, by the trash, which isn't super professional looking. Idk, if you're okay paying ridiculous Seattle based prices for a restaurant in Sumner, be my guest. I think it's overpriced and pretentious, and the chairs are uncomfortable lol.

The view of mount Rainier is spectacular at this location. Very good for occasions and celebrations. Food was very average at this urban kitchen. Ordered 8 oz ribeye steak at medium but came out medium well. The seabass that we ordered was very fishy and still undercooked in the very middle -- just a tiny spot maybe a quarter inch wide. Service was very good though. Not very fast but the pace was great.

BEAUTIFUL building! This is definitely one of our fave spots and had an amazing experience. Everything our table ordered was delicious! Our server was above and beyond and made sure we had everything we needed and even made our celebration special by bringing out the caramel sundae with a candle. Top notch! Definitely check this place out!!

Good food. Service was excellent.I love the intimacy of the place, yet the bar area is open.Limited menu. it will be interesting to see if they come up with any menu items on the lighter side.If you want a private area to reserve, definitely check this place out. I would have taken a photo but there was a private party going on. Looked really chic!

We had a lovely dinner last night. I'd like to give points for serving ice wine, which I love but it's often available. The Korean wings and salted caramel sundae were superb. Our main courses were ok; my husband had the carne asada taco board which tasted fine but wasn't cut correctly. I chose the fish and chips which would have been great but I dislike rosemary and it was in the batter. We chose to dine upstairs and it was quiet and lovely, downstairs was very loud. Our server was great!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at OxBow Urban Kitchen and I must say it was an extraordinary culinary experience. The apps, main courses, deserts , and drinks were worth every penny. The service was phenomenal and got the orders out in a timely manner. The environment was awesome that includes a view of the river with Mount Rainier in the background.Definitely our new favorite spot in the Puyallup/Sumner area.
