Oxalis is a must try hidden gem, perfect for breakfast or lunch. Oxalis is located a little outside the touristy, downtown area of Poulsbo. The area and outside aesthetics of Oxalis are very deceiving, but well worth the trip. The interior space is small, but quaint, with a nice bar seating option. Oxalis Kitchen also has a few outside tables for seating during nice weather. The coffee (Bluebeard roasters) was very good, the service was friendly (not overly friendly, but I think that is just Washington), and the menu, although small, is modern and innovative. I opted for the mushroom toast with white bean spread. The toast was full of flavor, the bread could have been slightly more toasted and the temperature of the mushrooms could have been slightly warmer, however the overall dish was so good that I could not bring myself to deduct any points. I am really looking forward to my next visit - Oxalis will likely be a regular spot for me as it is infinitely better than any breakfast I have had in the Viking town center where it doesn't seem as many restaurants put forth any real effort in their products.

The customer service here was amazing! I got the Asian Rice Bowl!! Whatever they put in it taste amazing! Great meal if you want something light, fresh, and healthy. The ambiance is cute! There's limited indoor and outdoor seating, but if you can get a table have a seat! The staff works hard behind the counter to make it all to order! I would agree with others when saying the wait for your food can feel a little long, but it IS worth it! So grab a coffee and enjoy your time here. ** Be mindful on the day you come, Oxalis shares its space with another restaurant. This tends to confuse people as the menu's are NOT the same. However if you stumble in on the wrong day the other restaurant is great as well!

Adorable little lunch spot in Poulsbo. Specializing in farm to table items, pastries, sandwiches, soups, salads and some rice bowls with optional add ons. Great place if you're vegetarian or dairy free I had the egg sandwich and my bf had the Italian sandwich, both had a ton of flavor and fresh ingredients, even the bread is baked in house. You can tell everything is made with careful intention and love. It's order at the counter with limited seating. We came at noon on Friday and the place was packed. Next time I'll probably come outside of peak hours or get it to go. Excited to return and try other menu items!

The food is so fresh and I love the organic ingredients! My favorite was the French toast hands down - it wasn't too sweet like normal french toast. The cafe is small but we found seating for the 4 of us. They even had paper and crayons for the kids to draw. The service was so friendly and nice and the coffee was strong and their latte art game was good. Can't wait to go back!

Tried a handful of things at the Farmer's Market. Visually, items looked promising. We were so hungry, but could not finish the Flatbreads or pastries we tried. That says something. I mentioned that the one Flatbread tasted reminiscent of what day old green beans taste like. My family agreed. It was odd. Unfortunately, will be skipping this next time. Not cheap either.

Tucked away in a row of shops, next to a panadería and a nail salon, is Oxalis Kitchen, a most delightful coffee shop/cafe/bakery. Everything here, and I mean EVERYTHING, is crafted with love and artistry. There is an ample selection for the gluten free and vegan folks, as well as options for wheat eaters and meat eaters alike. The house made salad dressing in the grab and go case is tasty and in bottles to be returned when it's empty. I've not yet had a pastry I haven't adored, so I guess I'll have to keep trying in hopes that I don't break the streak!

I had some time to kill so I stopped here for a breakfast sandwich and a latte and was blown away by this unassuming little bakery. I should have known that it was going to be good, because it was a Wed morning and fairly busy, despite it being in an area that doesn't get a ton of foot traffic. That means people are going out of their way to come here I would assume. It seemed to be a lot of locals, hanging out over coffee or breakfast. The interior is very cute! Small, bright colors, has a counter like an old fashioned diner plus a few tables on both the inside and out in front of the building. They have bakery items in the case, as well as breakfast options on their paper menu. The girls that worked there were very sweet and accommodating since I didn't notice the menus on a shelf on the wall and so had to make up my mind once I got to the register and then kept adding items. Luckily no one was behind me! I ended up going with a turmeric latte, a breakfast sandwich, an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and a loaf of bread to take home. I sat outside and she brought every thing out to me. The turmeric latte was delicious! I don't usually get sweet drinks or flavored lattes but this was creamy and a little spicy but balanced with the espresso...so good! I ate the cookie while waiting for my sandwich and it was perfectly chewy, and I think surprisingly vegan. Very enjoyable. The sandwich was nothing short of delicious! Their homemade sourdough bread was perfectly grilled, with a runny egg, arugula, and I believe bacon jam. The perfect combo of sweet and savory. Initially I thought that the price was a little steep, but after eating it, every ingredient was so full of flavor and quantity, I can honestly say that it was worth the price. Lastly, the bread that I brought home. Not only was it beautiful to look at, it was so yummy! I'm not that big of a fan of sourdough to be honest, but toasted with butter on it, I could eat the whole loaf! It was soft on the inside with a nice crispy crust and kept well in just a paper bag for at least 3 days after I bought it. I will definitely be coming back here!
