It's located at lowest floor on the market. Some antiques are mixed and very affordable, cute Japaneae store. The owner was very friendly. I saw some same goods from Kinokuniya but here the price was a little cheaper than that.

Super adorable shop in Pike Place Market. Mom & Pop store, with loads of cute Japanese items. They have more than plates - hats, bags, stickers, post cards...etc, etc. I spoke with the owner, and he told me that his Japanese wife is the curator of these adorable items. She even does amazing (and of course, cute) drawings as well. He was really nice and sweet, we loved the store! If you like Japanese items or any cute (kawaii) stuffs, check this store out!

I visit Seattle around the holidays every year to see family. My first year visiting I was wandering Pike's Place market and found Osara. The owner is very sweet and remembers me every year! I always pick something that his wife or daughter has designed. I love the stickers and stationary there. I feel happy every time I visit there. :)

With a rich Japanese culture in the Seattle, it's always great to find a store providing a rich variety of Japanese accoutrements. Glad to see it's alive and well, after my visit during their grand opening in the late summer of 2017!"Osara" is Japanese for dishes/plates, which explains the prominence of these items in the Commissary. So many colors, so many sizes, and made out of glass, ceramics, bamboo, plastic, etc.. Also, don't forget to check out their Bento boxes! To me, if you want a Sake Set, I'd start at Osara: Beautiful, colorful, intricate, and reasonably priced (some sets of four were priced at $27). Same goes for chopsticks: A rainbow of colors, many wood and bamboo, all of a high quality. There's also plenty of art. I would best describe the majority of Osara's art as "kawaii," the Japanese culture of cuteness. In the end, it IS a commissary, so you'll find a little of everything: candy, biscuit sticks, post and greeting cards, kimonos, hats, cutesy dolls, bags, books, anime, sumo stuff, rock & pop records (Japanese imports, of course), and about a million other little things. Since it's smack-dab in the middle of Pike Place Market, you have no excuse to miss it!

Great treasures! It's very off the beaten path so make sure you seek this spot out! There's also a very fun vintage shop across the walkway from here. Glad we visited!

I went there twice to look for this shop but no luck. It was frustrating with all the other tourists hogging everywhere. It looks so good in this Yelp but where the hec_ is it???

My favorite gem at the Market. If you love cats, this is a must. Loved the mix of vintage and new. The hand drawn cat signs will make your day. The beanies are high quality at sale prices. Do not hesitate to stop by. One the highlights of my Seattle trip. My only regret, not being able to take everything home.

We stumbled out way downstairs at Pike's and found this beautiful Japanese shop. My wife was looking for some books in Japanese and found a few to take home. The small shop is really nice with a small selection of fabulous items. A must stop at shop in Seattle.
