Zen Deli

wish I had taken pictures, but I didn't, decided to go to the mall for lunch just for a change of scenery and saw that this place had Pho. Asked for extra jalapeños and Thai basil and they delivered. The man behind the counter was super nice and the food was super tasty and came out super quick. I'll have to try their Boba next time I couldn't have asked for a better lunch!

I really, really was hoping to write a 5-star review of Zen Deli but... after eating there I am afraid I won't be able to :(I will star with the good: the service. It was excellent! The person at the front if the store knew the menu and was able to recommend and explain dishes. The bad: I ordered Pad Thai, a dish that is tough to mess up. When I got it, it looked the part but unfortunately it was way too liquidy so the texture didn't quite pass the test. Flavor however was ok.Overall I probably won't be a repeat customer.

This spot in the Oviedo mall has an interesting menu with a variety of Asian fusion options. I opted for the tofu banh mi. They give you a beeper to let you know when your food is ready while they make it fresh in the kitchen. It took about 5 minutes for them to prep it all up. The banh mi bread was toasted, but it is not the traditional crusty French baguette that I am accustomed to in a banh mi. The tofu itself was not seasoned before cooking and it was sauced with something that tasted like teriyaki sauce and I didn't care for the flavor. They did top the sandwich with the traditional toppings-cilantro, jalapeños, pickled carrots and daikon. They did add cooked onions, which isn't a traditional topping, but they weren't bad. I really wanted to love this sandwich, but the flavors were just not right.

This place has been open for a week and I'm excited to review it! My daughter and I were in the mall and looking for lunch. I ordered the pad Thai, medium heat and a strawberry milk tea. The pad Thai was perfect with just the right heat level, and the perfect chewiness to the noodles. The milk tea was a nice size and filled with tasty boba. Can't wait to come back and try the reuben they offer!
