Willie Jewells BBQ

I haven't been here in awhile. But my food this time was better than last time. I ordered a half chicken with 2 sides: coleslaw and baked beans. The sides were delicious and the chicken was moist. Last time my chicken was dry, so I was happy that the chicken was moist. Unfortunately, my corn bread was like a hockey puck and not edible and I had to wait quite a bit for my food, which was unusual. The staff had friends visiting or something and were preoccupied chatting with each other, so maybe that's what slowed things down. Still not my go to BBQ but if I really am craving BBQ and don't want to drive 30 minutes, I will stop in for a bite.

I love southern BBQ, and this place feels right. Even before I stepped inside, the smells from the wood burning smoker, jump started my taste buds. The format is counter service, and the staff brings food out to you.I ordered the 2 meat combo with two sides. I went with ribs and sausage, and my two sides were onion rings and Brunswick stew. The ribs were this highlight of the meal, and they were phenomenal. They were flavorful without any sauce, and the meat easily pulled off the bones.I was disappointed with the sausage. I thought it was greasy, and it didn't have that smoky flavor that I was hoping for. The onion rings were okay. The batter on the rings was a little heavy, and didn't add much flavor. I did like the Brunswick stew, and would recommend it.Overall not bad. I definitely would go back for the ribs.

Went for an early dinner. The restaurant was small and pretty empty. I could see at least 4 people working, 2 out front and 2 in the kitchen. I ordered the 2 meat/2 side meal. Brisket, sausage, toast, mac n cheese and beans. My order came out quickly, in like 7 minutes. First thing I noticed is everything was luke warm except the toast. The mac n cheese was almost cold. The brisket had an extremely small smoke ring and no fat cap so it was on the edge of almost dry. The sausage didn't appear to be handcrafted... nothing special. The beans tasted a-lot like pork n beans with no smokiness at all. The mac n cheese and the toast was good. The bar b q sauces were great. The staff is young and there seemed to be a-lot of fun and laughing coming from the kitchen. Maybe they will learn to concentrate more on the food. I may give it another try someday but it really wasn't crave worthy.

We very disappointed in our food today. Both the brisket and fries seemed old.. like it was yesterday's food just reheated. We will now go to Oakwood Smokehouse where we know the food is always fresh. Too bad because we live in The Villages and would like to support local businesses.

The food here never disappoints. Delicious every time and the service is top notch. The pulled pork portion size is great, but the sausage portion is on the small side. I eat here around once a week.

Willie Jewel's is great. Quality, taste, staff. DO NOT ORDER THRU YELP OR GRUBHUB. FEES ARE $$$$ to pickup your own food. Just call the restaurant directly and no fees.

Pretty good BBQ! Service was excellent and restaurant was clean. It was out first time and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. All the meats were delicious with the BBQ sauce varieties. The spicy BBQ sauce isn't really spicy but does have a great flavor and a kick. Love that you can get samples and try them all.The brisket was super tender and stood out among all the others we tried. Pulled pork was delicious but a bit dry - BBQ sauce solved that. Smoked chicken was good. Chicken fingers were recommended by the waitstaff for good reason - crispy and great portion size. Ribs got good reviews from our table as well.The sides were ok. Fries were awesome and perfectly crispy. Mac and cheese was pretty bland, and the corn bread was pretty dry. Fried okra was ok. Drinks were good and prices were reasonable all around. Would definitely order any of the meats again but would try different sides. Deserts looked good too!

Brunswick was sooooo good!!! Im so glad we passed through this place coming from Savannah to Florida. The brisket was little dry but onions rings and hush puppies were good. Service was fast.

Had lunch here on Wednesday. Have to say it was great. Place is cool, the people were great, and the BBQ is outstanding. My favorite spot in The Villages!

Good food, horrible service. You've got to go before it gets busy. There's a sign at the bar making the first excuse for poor bar service - it went up after Covid. The staff walks by without making eye contact and without acknowledging you. The food is generally good but you have to pay extra for "lean brisket." If you don't order it lean, you get low quality fatty brisket. Not what you would expect from a BBQ place.We keep coming back but have to time it before lunch and dinner crowds to get service.
