Whiskey Kitchen Mount Dora

Service was great! Meghan juggled a large table of 14 people next to us and still made us feel important. My choice was the oatmeal with no fruit - the bowl is huge and priced at $4, it was fresh and did not seem to be reheated from the previous day. I also ordered the "not that hungry" which consisted of eggs, hash browns and choice of bread. My over easy eggs were perfect and the hash browns were nicely browned. I chose the biscuit and it was not a typical southern biscuit but tasted homemade. My breakfast was 5 stars. My husband chose chicken and waffles. The chicken was chicken strips in a bland batter and the waffles dry, the presentation was poor for a dish that is famous for being sweet and savory it was very lacking. The bourbon maple syrup was excellent!! It was clean and the atmosphere was lively, liked the decor as well. We plan on trying the lunch menu soon.

Good location and nice deck to sit outside but food is below expectations..Cod sandwhich was just Luke warm under fried cod pieces on a cold untoasted bun and salad dried out as well as coleslaw old.Waitress definitely need some lessons in how to serve and smile.We will not return

Took a long time to get waited on. Nachos are small, hardly shareable, and toppings are scarce. Deception is not appreciated. The pork chop is listed on the menu as being "topped with bacon jam". When the waitress took my order, she asked if I wanted the bacon jam on top. I said yes. When the bill came, I was charged $3.18. Very deceptive. Waitress should reveal additional cost items, especially when menu advertises the item as "topped with" without using words like "optional" or "choice of". The food was good, but there are other places to eat with good food that treat their customers better than this. if it wasn't for the food being good, I would've given only one star.

Three strikes, but I'll take the blame for the third. Otherwise, 2 stars.1. The restaurant was unbearably hot. Yes, it's 92° outside. But most buildings in Florida have adequate HVAC to cope. The bar, as we exited was much cooler.2. The noise level was excruciating. There is nothing in the dining room to absorb sound. There was a large party celebrating across the room that contributed to the volume. As the room filled, it became impossible to carry on conversation.3.The server tried to warn me, without coming right out and saying "don't order the orange chicken sandwich". I ignored the subtle warning to my despair. It was a dry and tasteless thin chicken breast on a bun. It sounds good on the menu. It looks good on the plate. The goodness stops there.Service was excellent. Especially the warning I shouldn't have ignored. Happy hour wine prices were $5 for the house cab. I have no issue with credit card surcharges because I understand how things work. Using a Visa or Mastercard branded card costs the restaurant an extra 4% on my meal and why should they have the raise the prices for everyone to cover that? No, debit cards aren't exempt. I welcome this change across the industry. If I want to save the 4%, I can always pay cash.Would I return? No. The noise and heat were beyond bearable. If I want that, I can go to Chucky Cheese and sit by the kitchen.

This is a cute, new place, with outdoor seating. The food is mostly bar food. That being said, the best thing we had was the lobster roll. With the brisket sandwich a close second. It seemed like small servings at first glance but we left full. The server was very friendly and helpful.

Disappointing date night. Very delayed service, dirty tables and really sucky food. The pizza was burnt , the rueben was made with no love, corned beef was opaque and chewy. Sorry, we love to patronize local restaurants but this did not have any redeeming qualities to come back or to suggest to a friend.

My favorite restaurant in Mount Dora. Whenever we have out-of-town guests, we take them here. I love the garden pasta with marinara and grilled chicken. Another favorite are the brisket quesadillas.Kaden is one of our favorite waiters.

I arrived at 12:35 and was seated at a booth. A waiter came by and said he would be right with us. After waiting about 20 mins, we asked the the host to please send our waiter to the table. He came and apologized stating he had a disaster. He took or order. After another 40 mins, we had not been served. No waiter came by to say anything. We got up and left. Very poor service. I felt discriminated against and disgusted. Never ever going back with brown skin.

We waited one full hour today Feb 16, from 12:35-1:35 and they never brought us anything. Horrible service. Probably because we were the only non-white customers?

We were considering trying this place but since seeing the reviews decided to go somewhere else in Mount Dora. Hope they can regain their mojo at some point.
