Try them recently. First off in was excited to see they had beef negimaki, why other places don't have this I'll never understand. It was extremely undercooked but I was able to properly re-sear it and it was delicious. I will get this every time even if I have to recook it. I liked that I could add jalapeños to some of the rolls, I liked thing spicy. Shrimp and vegetable tempura was lite and not greasy, well made. The California and Mexican rolls were as expected and tasted good. The eggplant roll was just too soft and lacked in flavor. There is a lot more for me to try and see if the rating can go up.

I enjoyed our takeout very much the chicken was meh but I absolutely love the veggies and the rice and the yum sauce. I have had take out here twice . The first time they forgot my soup but all is good . I gave them a second chance . Hubby and I did yard work all day and needed a break from cooking so we decided to have Wakame . Delicious .

This review might be a little... all over the place. Fair warning. I, and two friends, went to Wakame for dinner. We each had a different experience with our meal, so they've urged me to write a review. Not just urged; implored. So here we go. When we arrived, it didn't look super busy. It's a cute, small place but plenty of seating. We were seated right away, but the gal that seated us told us we needed to share a menu because they ran out, because they were so busy. There were still about five or six tables open. Our server came pretty quickly. He was a very friendly and attentive fella. He took our orders and the appetizers came out quickly. But, we couldn't have any silverware yet because they needed to wash some, again, because they were so busy. Still, the same tables stood empty. They have straws, napkins, and chopsticks on the tables... except for our table. I ended up going to an empty table to steal some chopsticks from there so I could go ahead and eat. I hope they didn't mind. My friends needed their silverware, though. But it was ready soon. When our food arrived, it came out hot and looking so tasty. But... they accidentally gave a friend's meal to another table so they had to remake it. She waited, and waited. It took.... A while. When it arrived, she dug in. But now the issue was the chicken. I compared it to my chicken and hers was, indeed different. It was chewy and tasted undercooked. Because she never does this, she mustered up all her courage to tell the server, and he sort of just tried to explain why it was that way. His suggestion was to ask for them to over cook her chicken the next time we're in. Feeling a little shot down and unresolved, she spoke with a manager. The manager was so nice, and seemed genuinely concerned. He offered to make it again, but as we were all finished up by that point, he offered to make her a whole new meal to go. I haven't yet heard how the to-go meal tasted. So here's the goods on the rest of the food:1. Shrimp/chicken combo: this was the one you've already read about. Other than undercooked chicken, she said it was overall just lacking flavor. 2. Shrimp hibachi: said to be decent. But that the YumYum sauce was, and I quote, "weak". It did look a little juicer than usual. But that "weak" sauce really disappointed her. 3. Chicken udon: I loved it! It was flavorful and hot. Veggies were cooked through. It's not the soupy type udon served at some places. Which is fine, both are great. I like both kinds. The miso it came with was flavorful and smooth. So, I don't know. They seemed underprepared for a crowd. If all the tables had been full, I'm not sure how they'd be able to take care of everyone without sharing menus and utensils. Maybe they were feeling overwhelmed, which might've led to the chicken issue. Not sure what happened to that YumYum sauce. But they were all friendly, the place is adorable, and that udon was nice.
