Gave Aloft a chance as I've been coming here for work with the start of a new gig. Decided one night to just grab drinks and a couple of apps at the bar since it was raining out. I was probably one of three at the bar and the bartender was not very attentive. He went MIA for about 5-10 minutes and I speak for all 3 of us, we were totally annoyed. The worst part was food/apps - mozzarella sticks and the "savory" Italian meatballs. I'm pretty sure both were frozen and put in an air fryer because they were really really dry like dehydrated dry and stiff. I do not expect 5 or even 4 star quality from a hotel bar, but this tasted like something out of a grade school cafeteria.Perhaps I got the two worst items on the menu (which I certainly hope so). If I ever stay here again, will be skipping the bar next time.

We stayed at Aloft since we were seeing a show at Steinmetz Hall. Went across the street to The Bohemian but they didn't have HH so we came back here once they opened. Ambience was mid-tier hotel lobby bar. Bartender wasn't very congenial but got the job done. HH prices were nice. Recommend the cheese fries ans meatballs. Pretzel was also good, but not enough cheese sauce and way too much mustard. Why are the serving sizes always the same?!

This is a great spot for a drink before seeing a show at the Dr. Phillip's Center! We were looking to have a glass of wine and this was the perfect spot. It is part of the Aloft hotel and is a cute and cozy bar with lots of fun neon signs and lights. The bartender was really friendly and they had great music on. We will be back again the next time we come downtown for a show!

After visiting the XYZ Bar a few times before going to the Dr Philips Center, I should write a review. Each time I go, it has been a different experience but over all, we enjoy our time there. We normally get a few drinks and now and then we get some snacks to enjoy before seeing a show. It is defiantly cheaper to buy drinks here than in the Dr Philips Center! I would so bring a flask into Dr Philips but dang those metal detectors! LOL... The bartenders are always nice and make great drinks. The food is so-so and I am not always impressed with the quality or size of the portions but it does the job. I actually remember going to a Yelp event here years ago when they opened up and I was impressed with the drinks and food. I would actually like to stay one night in the hotel to see how nice things are overall. Atmosphere = 7Service = 8Food = 6Booze = 8So for a quick bite to eat and/or a cocktail or two before a show, I recommend the XYZ bar! Enjoy!

The hotel occupies the former Orlando Utilities Commission building that has been a part of Downtown Orlando for over 45 years. For the most part the building was completely renovated, but the folks at Starwood have left a few original pieces from the former OUC building. Some original artifacts like the teak wood panels and terrazzo floors in the lobby still remain. The hotel takes up 110-thousand square feet and features 118 guest rooms with sixty of those being suites. One of the first things you will notice upon entering the hotel is the trendy and ultra modern WXYZ bar that is vying for a spot among Orlando's bar scene. The WXYZ is flashy and chic with tables in the bar area that are equipped with outlets and chargers for all of your electronic gadgets and includes free WiFi.

Fun place to grab a drink before a night on the town. Conveniently located to all the hot spots downtown. Valet parking is a plus too.

Not your typical run of the mill hotel bar here...and the main reason for that is the staff! The staff behind the bar, and for that matter at the front desk, were stupendous! The free wasabi peanuts and salted almonds make for a nice snack as you drown the day away! Drinks are standard issue drinks, but overall I love this bar and will swing back in when wandering around downtown.

I travel several times a year for work and I must say the bar tenders here are top notch, very pleasant professional and they know how to make drinks . I consider myself a person who is well rounded when it comes to cocktails but every time I stay at this hotel I see that lots of people ask for the Manhattan and I had never had one before so I asked Jessica to make one for me and Wow now I know why so many people request this cocktail . The first thing I noticed is that she peeled a fresh orange and the used some bitters and she said never ever use a maraschino cherry that's a rookie move she used fresh berries and I have to say I found my new drink cheers .
