Friendly staff and decent food. It's been a while since I've been here. The environment is small and cozy. Parking is very difficult because there's a weird curb coming in and also have very limited spaces. I ordered the satay chicken for my daughter but it was too dry. I'm also used to the chicken cut into smaller pieces but it was 3 larger chunks. The satay seasoning was spicy in my opinion. The sauce had a peanut taste and did help with the dryness of the chicken. The pho was amazing. The tendon was just soft enough and the soup base was tasty but not overly salty. I didn't feel thirsty after eating there, unlike most pho places I usually go to.I definitely recommend this place for pho! For parents with babies, I didn't see diaper changing station in the restrooms.

This was my first time trying out Viet Thai and this definitely won't be my last! This restaurant is a fusion spot specializing in...as you guessed it...Vietnamese and Thai food! Located in a small strip mall near the intersection of Sand Lake and OBT.Now I have passed by this spot plenty of times and I don't know why I haven't gone in until now. Upon entering, it seemed to be a nice sized restaurant with a decent amount of tables and booths. We were a bit confused at first... since there was not a hostess or server available to get us seated. Eventually, one of the cooks realized we looked lost...and gestured for us to grab our own seats.Once seated, our server came shortly after, she was a nice lady and seemed to be the only server running the show. As we browsed through the menu we were surprised to see what a good variety of options they had...from pho, to curries, and even different rice platters. We ordered the papaya salad, beef drunken noodles, salted fish fried rice, eggplant stir fry, tom yum soup and mango sticky rice for dessert. Now when I tell y'all... that we were so shocked that every single dish was delicious and pretty much spot on when it comes to flavor... we were so pleasantly surprised.Now... it's very rare for me to go to a restaurant and like almost every single dish that we order. Each item was seasoned appropriately, not too salty and not too overbearing in flavor. The standouts to me had to be their tom yum soup (I can literally just eat that with a side of white rice)... and the drunken noodles were literally perfection and had the right amount of chew in the noodles.Overall, I had a great first experience at Viet Thai. They have a great variety of options that could accommodate everyone's dietary preferences. I will definitely be back soon to try out the other items on the menu the next time I'm around the area!

A tasty Viet/Thai food spot near The Florida Mall. Had a Pad Thai (with no protein) and one of the chef specials, Tomato Peppered Steak. Portions were justified for the price. Service was quick and I had my food within 15 minutes of ordering. There's tons of dine-in seating and the place has East-Asian decor that fits well with the theme of the restaurant. Not too much parking in the plaza if it's busy, so plan accordingly if you're coming in a big group!

Always enjoy their summer rolls. We shared one set of shrimp and chicken and I prefer the shrimp over the chicken. Both were good, but as the chicken was just cooked, it was still warm. We also had a pork noodle bowl, which was more than enough to share. Also a nice meal to enjoy on hot days. The pork was nicely seasoned and not overcooked.

I ate here a couple days ago, I thought this was a nice good find away from the touristy hoity-toity on International and Universal blvds. The restaurant has a nice vibe to it, the dining area (on the right) was where I sat; it was clean and organized. The baths were ok, not equally as great, but definitely better than a Chinese restaurant I patronized (and reviewed) earlier.I ordered chicken satay, an order of fried spring rolls, and a basic pad thai with beef. The chicken satay was very tender and delicious. The peanut sauce was also prepared well; it made a good compliment to the chicken on skewers. The spring rolls came out, I *always* check a fried roll with a simple breaking in half by hand to see if it's a good roll or it's crap. A good, fresh cooked roll will have a characteristic crisp sound and a clean break. I also observe if the contents spill out or remain well inside and if the ingredients are adequately cooked (or not). Also, noting their taste both with and without whatever sauce is brought out with them. The spring rolls were fried well, a sweet sauce was brought out with them and it seemed to go well. Not too strong, the sauce itself also looked aesthetically nice, not that pink, thick, very sweet kind of sauce that I ALWAYS see in Chinese restaurants, they always seem to be made horribly.Any rate, the pad thai was a simple dish to prepare. If a restaurant can't prepare a basic, popular dish like this one, that's a bad sign. Any rate, it was prepared pretty well. The noodles were nicely soft and the sauce was tasty. I thought the meat was a little lacking, the beef was prepared well and it was delicious, but I thought it was a little skimped. I will also point out that the range of spice I could receive was mild, medium, hot, and "thai hot". I asked for traditional, I was served mild. I was told by my server that mild was traditional. I didn't make such a fuss, but really.... So what is "thai hot" supposed to mean?? If "thai hot" is *not* the traditional spiciness of thai food, then what is that supposed to mean?? This was the second time I went to a restaurant where the cuisine is (by the locals who eat it) spicy as all hell. I asked for traditional, they bring out mild. I didn't realized the problem because I'm thinking, "Geeze, my tongue must be tolerant today, especially after eating chicken biryani." Only once I see the bill does it say, "mild". The food was already gone, so I couldn't tell them to re-do it. I asked my server about that, they tell me that "mild" IS traditional. Really?? BS.As I'm writing this, I really was bothered by that. That seemed like an amateur mistake. Apart from that, the service was good and my server was pleasant. That was probably just miscommunication and I think now I have to go over my whole order in the future, especially the details, so the chances of disappointment are reduced. But for those who are reading this, I'm sure most people are not as picky as I am. So I would come back and I would recommend Viet Thai Cafe as a good place for thai food.

We have been coming here every time we are in Orlando for many years. Love the food. Consistently delicious and yummy! The service is great with kind, friendly, happy smiling faces. They have good taste in music as well. I would highly recommend it.

I ordered delivery to a location about 5 minutes away. Egg rolls were good and crunchy. The rice looked dry as if it had either been made a long time ago or was sitting out uncovered. I ordered the green curry which didn't have the usual coconut flavor. Probably won't try again
