Vampire Penguin of Apopka

In looking at the yelp reviews, this place just looked like it was going to be a lot of fun. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Saturday and while it was quite rainy, there was only one other couple in the location. The basic menu is available on site, but for the more extended menu, you would have to go to the website to find some of the other offerings. I opted for the strawberry cheesecake in a small. It is a pretty big serving. I definitely could've gone with a mini given that I was the only one eating it. Loved the flavor! The parking for this location is located behind the building itself. If you're using general maps from Apple, it can be a little confusing when it tells you to turn. The only reason this is getting a four star review is because of the service. When we arrived, we said hello and instead of a hello back we got "hold on one moment" and then the individual working went in the back. The whole interaction seemed to feel like he was completely disinterested and didn't want to be there. I am sure that is not the usual but it was the experience we had while we were there.

I stopped here on a whim passing by and saw there was snow. It was a Saturday afternoon but no one else in the store. We looked at the menu, saw that a lot of the flavors were unavailable, and picked from a premade creation. We got a large to share ($10) and it was HUGE! They have the size cups on display but it was still shocking on the plate. You could easily share among a couple friends! I got the tropical paradise which came with a couple snow flavors and enjoyed eating it with the fruit too. I also loved that they have some freeze dried candy for sale. We got a couple of Easter peeps to try (3 for $5). I would be interested in going back to try a more traditional flavor.I'm giving it 4/5 stars because of the employee. It's hard to explain because he didn't technically do anything wrong. He took our order and gave us the food with no complications. It was just that from start to finish, there was an air of "I don't want to be here". It sounds so nitpicky, that I really hate to mention it but it was pretty off putting. Whether it was intentional or not, I felt like by being there, I was interrupting his quiet time or something. Also, another small thing, I used the restroom on the way out and the door would not lock. Not sure if it was user error, but my friend also had the same issue.

This is not at all what I expected, but I was very pleasantly surprised! I expected this to be a typical shave ice place with fruity flavors, which I love, but there was such an array of flavors from chocolatey to fruity. The toppings range from fruits to candies and sauces. And the texture of the ice is like real snow instead of shave ice. It's powdery and so soft!I saw the halo-halo flavor and had to try it. I tried the flavor of shave ice in Hawaii and loved it, and the Vampire Penguin version was just as good! It is a Philippine-style dessert, so there are beans. Don't let the beans deter you! They are sweet and just add texture. It's so good!My boyfriend played it safe and got cotton candy flavored snow with gummy bears. I tried his too and it was delicious and refreshing on this 115° day.The girl working the counter was very nice and helpful. The interior has cute murals for the kids, and they have a giant Connect 4 game on the patio. This little shop is a perfect stop on a hot day.

Everything was delicious except for we had to ask for more condensed milk.. the guy that took our order was nice and helpful when we asked questions. After he made our order he kinda disappeared and we had the place to ourselves. They had yard game inside (probably because it was so cold outside) so that was fun! I'm sure on a hot summer day this place is popping lol

Not my first time visiting, but always a great time here. This time I remembered to post my review in writing haha, and not just keep my thoughts in my head. The ambiance and decor here is always so cute! I love it. The service today was amazing and I really appreciated our service today by Macy. She was the sweetest! We happened to be there when the owner was there and he was very nice as well. The cotton candy shaved ice is what we got and it just melts in your mouth but has such a nice,strong flavor! I absolutely loved it here. This is one of our go to spots. Such a great addition to our family go to spots! One of these days I'll actually get pictures, but I always forget and just dig right in. It's that good!

While working I drive by this place many of times, today it was hot and we decided to stop and try it out. From the outside, you wouldn't know it was open. The employee explained to us about the menu. We ordered the 4th of July special. It was put together so nice. I don't know how to explain it, but it's not ice cream and it's not icy, it's in between. A good way to describe it, it's like frozen velvet. The fresh fruit was nice, it's airy, it's light. You don't feel overly full after eating it. It was quite good!

It was a cute dessert place that was kinda hard to find. There was an awkward silence when we walked in due to the staff not acknowledging us even though we were the only customers at the moment. I thought they were closed and was going to leave then the male staff told us they ran out most of the flavors and some indefinitely. I'm giving 3 stars for the female staff's friendliness and she offered our dog whipped cream. Other than that, it wasn't a pleasant experience after we were left there with the male staff. As if he didn't want us there the entire time.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got out there. The ice cream was a 10/10! I honestly didn't know what to expect and was blown away. We saw *and heard* lol someone else eating the strawberry cheesecake and they talked about how delicious it was. The lady helping us said it was their best seller, so since my son loves strawberries, I decided to order. It was delicious!! I ordered a small and it was enough to share with my 4 year old. The place is super cute and there's a big connect 4 game that my son loved playing with. The owners kids were there and they came to play him. Such a homey vibe!

Cute little place, friendly service and good prices Child size cup for $5.00. Stopped in around 8PM on a Monday evening, got pretty busy. The texture of the ice is like a sno-cone but softer. Small, cozy little place perfect for a place for kids and dates!

The overall serving size is sub par and not worth the price that you pay. I've been to lots of difference shaved ice places and for $8 I can get x2-3 times the large size. They're very stingy and barely provide any toppings as you can see in my picture. There's a total of 6 pieces of strawberry which is barely 2 whole pieces of a strawberry. Condensed milk was put on sparingly as well. I don't believe I would come back to this establishment again since it's not worth the price you pay.
