All clammy behind the cloudsWe examine humming eggs below the mudTake cover! The fun was arduousSo luminous under the cloudsWe bend black flames among the bullshitBe luminous. The demon felt goodSinister and rabid on the virginYou condone colorful tongues before the airThe day is fleeingshining grieving out of control a trace of sadness At how many harbours my forebearsasked their way wondering why

I did have an amazing time at open mic.I didn't spend much money. I did meet some really interesting people.I didn't feel safe. I did find everything extremely genuine.I didn't stay longer than I had to.This place is an experience. Don't go here if you want to have a "normal" night out, otherwise, go.

Okay right off the bat, "Entertainment Hall" is a huge stretch. This tiny "no-frills" bar in a strip plaza on Mills Ave, down the street from Peacock Room and across the way from Wally's. They used to be located on Michigan near Delaney, but it seemed to be a failed location after only a few months. The decor is like a confused teenager's bedroom. Cheap lighting, weird mix of music posters (from the clearance rack at Spencer's?) haphazardly taped to the walls, junky pool table... You get the idea. Not much seating. A couple seats at the bar and one table if I recall.People tend to go there to see a band. They do have shows regularly, with a focus on punk it seems. The sound is not good in there. There's a TV showing sports most of the times I've been here, and the bartender/owner (Lou) is usually wearing large headphones so he doesn't have to hear the live bands (or the chatter of bar patrons?). With so many other bars in the vicinity, it's hard to understand how this place stays in business. I'm still not sure what their niche is, other than serving lowbrow beers and booking punk bands. 2 stars because if you go here you aren't expecting much anyway...

I once held this place in high regard. Until I discovered that the bartenders are not paid a wage... at all. They work only for tips, which is entirely illegal. Also, the last time I was there I made the mistake of sitting on the bench seats and had not one, but two roaches scurry across my legs. AT THE SAME TIME! I will leave it at two stars, because although Lou doesn't pay his employees, it is still a nice place for bands to play.

I came here once to support a friend of a friend who was performing inside that night. I walked to the bar and tried to get beer but was told they were sold out of everything except PBR. As I was shuffling to get back outside I was knocked down from an elbow to my face. They packed about 30-40 people inside the building to the band playing (taking up half the space) and they were all moshing. I would recommend if you're in the mood to thrown some elbows & possibly pick up a disease.

Awesome venue for local and regional folk/punk/hardcore music shows! Beer is only in cans and bottles, but the diy energy makes up for it.

This little dive bar makes you feel like you're hanging out in a friend's basement in high school. The sound is decent and there is adequate area for some dancing. As it is rather cramped, on busier nights I can imagine that seating and dance room would be quite limited. Nevertheless, this is a nice little bar to go check out some local music and artists.

As a dive bar, it had everything i would expect and more. Smoke in the air, random mishmash of seating, painted black... Gaint mural of random portraits, tiny bar guarding refrigerators in the back... Everything. Even a jukebox to fill the awkward time between bands, because if we are being honest, we know this is a place you only come to when already drunk or to see a friend play in a band. It is awesome that places like this exist to give new local bands a place to play and remind us that we never have to leave college behind us.

Uncle Lou is an amazing bar owner and person, however the bartender tonight was absolutely rude and unprofessional. I am a regular here and not only have I never seen her bartend, but she dropped the bar so low that I am likely to never return. She was the epitome of disgusting, not from a judging perspective but her attitude was awful. I refuse to let myself or my close friends be treated in such a way. If this is CORRECTED, I am willing to come back and refer friends here as the atmosphere is not judgemental and free... the exact opposite of what the bartender tonight provided us. Just awful she was.

The bar tender tonight really made it known that I will not be returning. Her nasty attitude towards me in front of the owner was sad. I did nothing wrong other than ask a simple question and the response was nasty and childish. I have been here on multiple other occasions, but after this interaction I am honestly done spending my cash only. This is a fun underground vibe, but she, with her piss poor attitude, has made it clear that as a foreperson, for a bar, made me and my friend extremely uncomfortable. We are done with this establishment because I "do not fit the narrative," for lack of better words. I literally do not leave reviews, but I have been left in nothing other than pure disgust for the way she made me feel tonight, other than promising that I will not be returning, as well as the word of mouth that I will be telling my other locals about this will be promised. Good luck sis, because with that attitude, I can only hope and pray for you. Be blessed.
