Tropical Paradise Orlando

I decided to check out this spot since it's close to me and I didn't feel like driving all the way down west colonial for oxtail. I got the oxtail with rice and peas, cabbage and mac salad. I also got a piece of fried chicken and sweet plantains. The chicken was crunchy and juicy but very bland. It definitely needed seasoning. Maduros were solid. Mac salad was a little different...it didn't really hold together, like it needed more mayo. Nothing great here. I'd skip this and just get corn next time. Cabbage was so over cooked and over seasoned and cabbage is my favorite side to have with oxtail. When I go to Caribbean Sunshine, I order a while extra container of just cabbage. I was really disappointed with this. And now the oxtail...I ordered a large and it came with a good portion. The flavor was delicious! However...HOWEVER, it was so tough. I've never had oxtail so freaking tough before! I ended up throwing it in my slow cooker with a dash of water for 4 more hours. Oxtail should fall off the bone! Or I should be able to easily pull it off the bone and I could not. I could not! It's such a shame that something so delicious was just not cooked properly. Also, the oxtail gravy was very oily. When he was spooning the gravy it wasn't thick and brown like gravy should be - it was oily! It was almost all the oils and fat that liquified when cooked instead of gravy. It was transparent - gravy, obviously shouldn't be transparent, that's melted fat. And lastly, the peas and rice was fine. It had a good bite to it. It was bland by itself but that's ok, cause I planned on having that oxtail gravy for it. But that became on oily mess. Overall, the flavors are there...they just need to fix these little things. Little details like oily gravy and tough oxtail ruin the dish, but are simple enough to fix. I would try them again. But I'd ask them to slice the oxtail with the spoon to see if it's tender before ordering. I really hope they fix these issues and more people eat here. West Indian food is delicious and I'd love to have a good place on this side of town.

Phenomenal From the time you walk through the door your greeted with a warm smile. Husband n Wife Team!She's up front he cooks up the yumminess!She was beyond nice and not to mention the food was fantastic! The oxtails were so flavorful and fell right off the bone. With a good amount of gravy put over the rice n peas!Curry chicken was also yummy. My husband had the curried goat and he LOVED it.Cole Slaw was so fresh and perfectly made from the sweetness all the way down to creaminess.Potato salad was different as it had pea, carrots and veggies in it but was still good with a oniony flavor.The carrot cake is a must along with their homemade sorrel drink!

Our favorite restaurant for fried red snapper was closed. Thank goodness this restaurant was open for carry out on Christmas Eve. The price was okay. The food looked and tasted good. It just didn't taste like authentic Jamaican food. Not having to cook, priceless!

Can't say it's fully authentic. It seems that there's a mix influence of this dish. I ordered the curry chicken with dahl pouri roti and one soda can. The curry was only on the outside of the chicken. You have to break it up and mix it so you're not gonna get the deep flavor. Curryford South slightly blend, but still very tasteful not very mad at it. He gets the job done the roti a very impressed with 100% legit! I paid $17 for everything definitely over paid you can't ear every day after work. I called one time and spoke to a guy. He told me it was only gonna be 12 $13. So I definitely got played which doesn't sit well with me. They don't tell you prices while you're ordering or what comes inside the Curry unless you ask. There's no white meat with a Curry just whole pieces of thigh and leg. It's debatable if I go back but if I do is definitely for the roti! I'm half Guyanese so you know I know the deal. I also know very good Jamaican curry as well Trust me I'm not being one-sided.

This is a fairly new, just open Caribbean restaurant on south Semoran in Orlando. The food is really good. If your in the mood for good Caribbean food this the spot. I went right after they open on a Monday, perfect timing. No line Monday's! The food was hot and very flavorful. Great selection of drinks from shandy to ting and too many more to name. It's a very clean establishment from what I experience. We ate there for lunch and the staff was very accommodating. I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed.

I keep going back to this place for some reason.... Oh yeah it's because the food is good. Also it clean the staff if nice they have a good lunch special, and the venue chill. I recommend you go and enjoy so good food.

Friendly service. Very helpful explaining menu i options over the phone prior to going in. Great food in this little spot. I'll be going by to with family soon to try some more options next time.

I decided to give them a 2nd try and sadly I am disappointed again. Curried goat - Very gamey (worst I've ever had), bland, and definitely not enough curry used to season it. Rice - Why can't we get regular rice? The yellow rice and the parboiled rice & peas don't taste good.
