Tortilleria La Mexicana

Stopped on our way home from the airport for some Mexican food. We had the Huaraches and Sopes which were really good. It was a Sunday for a late lunch or you could say an early dinner and it was not full at all.

This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The place was empty for lunch, and I can see why. The salsa tasted like it was mostly ketchup. The chips seem to be homemade and though they were a bit thick, they weren't bad. I ordered chicken enchiladas. The meat did not look or taste like chicken. It was really bad. It was not hot. I liked that they put a lot of sour cream and cojito cheese on top. The red sauce tasted like it came from a can without even being heated. The meal came with sliced cucumbers (a first for me at a Mexican restaurant) and sliced tomatoes. I would have preferred diced. It did not taste good at all. A waste of time and money. Stay away.They server/hostess was friendly. The ambiance was clean and pleasant. But this place is going to have to improve the food to stay in business.

Right down the middle in regards to authentic Mexican food. Nothing will blow your doors off. Taco meat (tried steak, chicken, and beef) was dry. Chips and sauces are alright, but nothing to write home about. Shrimp quesadilla was greasy and melted together, but easily the yummiest thing I ordered. Dining area was nicer than I anticipated. Moderately priced though they did forget a taco. You don't need to go out of your way to eat here, but it will still fill you up if you are in the mood for some run-of-the-milk Mexican. If I had been slammed on margaritas, I'm sure it would have tasted much better.

This has always been my favorite local Mexican place, it's authentic and the food is great. Tonight we ordered $40 worth of food between my wife and I. We had a chimichanga, two tacos al pastor, a burrito con lengua, and a chicken quesadilla. This is our standard order, we usually eat here once a week. Tonight as my wife was eating her quesadilla, raving about how delicious it was, her face dropped and she said "...babe?" The tone was of sheer terror, I don't hear it often. She pointed out a cockroach in her food. We had to throw the entire takeout order away. This is illegal, disgusting, and potentially hazardous to our health.We're really upset about this, we've always had a ton of love for this place. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. We are currently waiting to see if a refund will be issued or not.

Tried calling to ask a question. Initial call hung up. Second call someone picked up the phone and set it down and walked away.

This place is authentic and the tacos have plenty of meat and very flavorful thumb's up for the food and the beautiful waitresses and excellent service.

Authentic if only because gal who took my order barely spoke English. I opted for the fish tacos, mostly because they looked great in the menu and also because it was easy to just point and say "Just like this, please."And it was. Hot fish, tangy sauce, crunchy cabbage. Everything a fish taco is supposed to be. Yum!The decor could use some freshening and the table cloth was not very clean. But the food? Oh, yes. Si!

Excellent food and service. In my opinion... the most authentic Mexican food in the area.

The food is okay however the lack of service makes it hard to dine in or even order to go food. I asked for chicken & cheese and the lady told me cheese was considered a meat and wanted me to pay $8 for cheese. I had ordered another time and never had an issue. Ordering over the phone was hard because if they can't understand you they will not add it to your order but act like they did. When you go to pick up they act like they didn't know you wanted it. The food is not the issue it's the way the place is ran.

Authentic, delicious, consistent! The service is outstanding. The flautas are amazing, rice and beans best you can have and the hand squeezed limonade delish!
