The Sullivan, A Public House

Larry loves Irish food and when we saw the Sullivan House served it we knew we had to try it. We got there just as they were opening and were given a friendly greeting. After perusing the menu we decided to split the Scotch egg as a starter. It's a boiled egg wrapped in sausage deep fried and served with a sweet onion relish. Neither of us had ever had one but we thought it was great and will definitely order again. For his meal Larry had corned beef and cabbage. He said it was probably the best he ever had. I ordered Shepherds pie. The meat is a blend of lamb and pork which is mixed with carrots, peas, celery and onions topped with rosemary mashed potatoes served with soda bread. I really liked it too.

I don't even know where to start this place is so fantastic. The service is amazing and the staff are friendly would be. After 10 they open the doors and share the imperial next-door and the live music can be heard on both sides. The drinks are perfectly proportioned. The food is savory and Hearty, I would recommend coming here for dinner or as part of any bar crawl.

Came back after a great experience the first time we stopped by! And this time there was live music which was awesome!! We got a table and ordered some food. I got the fish & chips which is a classic. The fish & chips are made with Cod which was abolutelty delicious. The fish was fried to perfection and moist on the inside. They give it with the signature malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The fries are utter perfection. OMG I could've had a whole basket of fries and die happy. Its amazing!!!Again, love the bartenders! They are so friendly and funny. Great time!!

Hidden gym in downtown historical Sanford. This is Sanford's only Irish Pub and it boast some of the best live music pretty much every single night. The food will definitely surprise you and I highly recommend the pub chips. They pour an authentic pint of Guinness just like they do in Ireland, the service is excellent and as far as the menu, you cannot go wrong with anything on there. A great little stop for any occasion when you are downtown Sanford.

Great Moscow Mule! I loved the atmosphere and decor of the place. The service was great and their cocktails were good. I didn't get to try the food but it all looked delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more!

This was a first time visit to The Sullivan. There are dark wooden booths lining the walls with a bar in the back. There is a stage front and center at the window. The service was great, and the server nice. She spoke to me about some local event that was happening when I inquire about it. The food was a little disappointing. I found the fish needed salt. There was a little heat but it lacked the proper seasoning. Next time maybe I'll try the Shephard pie.

Absolutely loved this place! Loved the service and the food was incredible I had the shepherds pie and it was full of so much flavor!

Wonderful ambiance, service and food. We were relieved to find that they were open late. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

What a hidden gem. I love everything about Sanford and this may be my new favorite place! Variety of beers, Irish whiskeys and cocktails. We had the Scottish egg and Fish and chips. Both dishes were very good. The fish was crispy and egg was great (according to my husband). I don't do eggs. Several beer selections and our bartender was great! Joe was engaging, informative and entertaining. He was very welcoming and probably a big reason we will return. Hope you get the opportunity to check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

The place was nearly empty when we arrived. Had to go to the bar to place order of a scotched egg, corned beef sandwich with onion rings and bread pudding along with drinks for two. The drinks arrived. Then a large order of onion rings. Shortly after the onion rings the bread pudding arrived. We asked the server about the sandwich we ordered. She claimed she didn't hear the order for the sandwich. And the scotch egg was would be out shortly. After another 15 minites or so the scotch egg arrived. We were there for over an hour before getting all of our order. Service and timing of delivering order was disorganized. Scotch egg was good. It was my first one. Onion rings were good. Unimpressed woth bread pudding, have had much better.
