The Imperial Wine Bar & Beer Garden

Imperial is probably one of my favorite spots. Tino makes visiting such a fun experience and always brings such a great energy to the bar. The food is absolutely delicious and the live music is such a wonderful touch.

This hidden gem is in the store Washburn Imports on Ivanhoe's Main Street. (See my review.) Imperial is a beautiful old bar with bar stools. There are wines, a few beers and a few tidbits to nibble. A relaxing Biergarten is outside. The food we tried was the crusted French bread filled with duck confit, Brie, and an aioli. It was perfect with a drink. The bartender, maybe the owner, was charming and told us about his passion of Imperial. Note that on weekends bands and comedians perform. (Need a reservation, and check the hours.) The venue is small and popular. You sit at the tables surrounding the bar which are part of Washburn Imports. The friendliness of the two venues working together adds to the charm. Try it out.

Set amongst the exotic furniture brought in from Bali, Thailand, India, you cannot help but feel transported into another world sitting amongst this beautiful antique furniture... absolutely magical. The selections of wines and beers are top-notch and their menu you cannot go wrong with. Must try the duck sandwich.!! Tino and Annie will help you behind the bar and they are fantastic at what they do. You will have the most pleasant and enjoyable evening once you visit The Imperial inside Washburn Imports. I've been coming to The Imperial for over a decade and have never had a bad experience. That's really something special to be able to say.The kind, attentive staff, great drink selection (tons of options for both beer and wine), live music, and beautifully eclectic decor (which is all for sale) make this one of my favorite bars on earth.

A cool place to hang out on a Sunday night.They have stand up comedians every other Sunday.Place have a decent wine list. Not so much in the beer.Tonight though I just ordered sparkling water :)Place has furnitures for sale and a nice garden outside.No food in here. Local crowd is great.

I'm so fortunate to have given this hidden gem a shot. We enjoyed a delightful charcuterie board and a few delicious beers. Everywhere you look there is some delightfully crafted piece of wood art/furniture to explore. The live music was awesome and the service was equally as delightful. Can't wait to come hang again!

I've never seen anything like it. What a great concept. Eclectic, exotic furniture, and pieces of art from artisans and collectors from around the world. Many pieces are antiques. Walking through the expensive shop, I felt like I was transported to other countries and experiencing a bit of their history. As for the wine bar and garden, the bar is smack dab in the center of it all, and just inside the front door, with a private garden patio just off the bar, with more antiques and seating. Add weekly musicians, and you have a recipe for a great experience. If you're looking for unique finds or experiences, check it out.

I have passed by this place numerous times and admired their art work and low and behold it's an actual wine bar. You can sit on the most expensive furniture and enjoy a wine or beer. I met someone here because he said this is "his place" - meaning he loved coming there. I'm not gonna lie... i do too... bartenders super friendly. Wine/Beer Menu on a QR code. You can bring food in from across the street or anywhere because they do not have food. I came in around 7pm and not that big of a crowd but when 9pm hit.... a few more people trickled in and then by 10 this place was packed! Loved the energy and meeting new people.
