This restaurant is only busy because either people ignore obvious violations, don't care, or just are not aware. On the surface, this looks like a great place; however, the things I saw and experienced is appalling!Customers must go outside at the back of the restaurant to the restrooms. This entails walking across a large area of brick colored tile, which was so greasy that it was an accident waiting to happen! When I reached (very carefully) the ladies room there was no AC. There were no paper towels, only a hand dryer. Most of the floor was wet, the tiny sink counter was covered with water and here comes the worst part...I went to flush the toilet and the toilet lifted off the floor. NO, I'm not kidding. They also had a large plastic bin on the floor catching water from the leaking toilet which was half full. On my way back from the restroom on the inside of the restaurant, there is a doorway on the left where you can take a glimpse into the kitchen. One look and you think to yourself, doesn't the Florida Health Board ever visit this place. Our server, Jacob was very cordial, but a couple of things he needs to do: First, stop preaching religion to your customers. Secondly, be more attentive. The food we ordered was very delicious, but honestly I was very hesitant on eating it after witnessing what the kitchen looked like. Now, as long as I have been a Yelper, I have to admit that up until today, I had no idea that you can go to Yelp, look up a restaurant, scroll down to information and read information from the health department on their reports of a particular restaurant. Had I known this ahead of time, my husband and I would have never, ever eaten at The Breezeway. From now on, I will be checking any and all restaurant health reports before eating at a restaurant. The health department reports on The Breezeway is NOT GOOD! BEWARE!

In town for a concert at Tuffy's and upon arrival, we were looking for a lunch spot in the Historic District. We chose to sit at the outside bar and Louis was our bartender/server. Very friendly and answered several questions about the area and things to do. Pet friendly as we made a pet friend at the bar. We each ordered a spicy Bloody Mary and ordered the Breezeway Tacos to share with blackened mahi that was amazing. Large portion of mahi! Definitely a wonderful breeze on a warm day - hence the name of the restaurant! When in town again, we'll definitely choose to go back.

Great option, service was quick, grabbed a bite before a show and had limited time. Outdoor seating was comfortable, and enjoyed the singer that was performing. I enjoyed my eggplant parm sandwich, I chose a side of coleslaw. We've dined before, no complaints what we've tried. Generous portions, reasonable prices.

Very good first visit for lunch today because I was desperate for that Wedge Salad. From a glance, Breezeway always has a solid "outdoor luncheon" vibe going on. I arrived shortly after opening and was able to quickly place my order for the salad and a cup of French Onion soup. Delicious on both fronts - maybe the best soup I've had in a while. My server was efficient but didn't hover - I was in and out in record time. Solid tunes playing at the bar. Lunch came out to just under $25 - which is the way of the world these days. But when the food and service are this good, I don't mind parting with a few extra pennies. Next time, I'll order a burger to really see if this Breeze is the way.

Great place! The ambiance in the patio is very laid back, they do allow dogs on the patio. We had the fire cracker shrimp (not pictured) to start, it came on a bed of coleslaw- delicious. I had the margarita, definitely more liquor to mix ratio so 1 was enough. Our entree's were both delicious, the mahi was slightly overcooked but the flavors were jumping so it made up for it :) Service was also great and fast, I believe our servers name was Nikki. She was awesome! I definitely will be back, and next time I will bring my pup!

I've passed by The Breezeway a ton of times but never stopped in until last weekend. We decided to eat there before a concert at Tuffy's. The outside is the main hot spot but we opted to sit inside since it was rainy and humid. Inside is quaint, no frills. Our server was very down to earth and chill, her vibe was great. She knew the menu and had great suggestions for all of us since we had lots of questions. I ended up getting the Sanford Special (suggested by our server) and omg it was huge! I had to cut it into sections just to get it small enough to fit on the bun! It was delicious! The horseradish sauce is made in house as well as their coleslaw and most of their other dishes/sauces. I shared with everyone at our table and they all agreed that it was awesome. Now that I know what a hidden gem The Breezeway is, i'll definitely be stopping in more often!

Today at 1:30 pm ( for reference of who we dealt with at the hostess station). We went specifically to Sanford to go to the Breezeway which we have enjoyed in the past but after today we are probably going to find somewhere where they care about customer service especially from the hostess who is the first person you meet and represents your restaurant. We asked for a table outside underneath the roof area out of the sun, was told it would be a half hour although there were several empty table back there. After about 1/2 hwe were called back and she proceeded to show is to a table that was along the sidewalk and although it had an umbrella, it was in the sun when we said we asked for a table out of the sun she said this was the only table available as the tables under the roof were being held for a bigger party So even waiting longer was not going to help. My husband asked why she didn't tell us this before we waited for 30 minutes for a table, she just shrugged her shoulders and said that was all there was. So he said ok well guess we have to go elsewhere as that table was in the sun. As we were walking away she said loud enough for us to hear and in front of other customers, "how rude". I don't think we were rude for walking away if you didn't have a table we'd be comfortable spending good money to eat, why would we stay? If you have staff that treat customers like this I question your establishment. By the way, we went to eat elsewhere and we had parked behind the Breezeway, two hours later going back to our car, all those saved tables under the roof out of the sun were still empty. We would have been in and out of there before anyone filled those tables.
