To preface I'm Korean and really into food. I regularly get Korean BBQ. Cute environment. High quality meat. I'm super familiar with the business metrics for Korean BBQ. Few issues. Feels like they know food but struggled with the business side to Korean BBQ. Or they struggled the day I was there. Trying to give benefit of the doubt. Service was slow but the servers seemed to be juggling multiple jobs. They looked overwhelmed. The place had about 30-40% of the tables filled with the host? Owner? Helping out with 2 servers and they looked swamped. The cook tables were electric based and one side of the grill heated up properly but the other side didn't. This is a common issue with cheaper grill tops or a baseline mechanical issue with the grill top such as a blockage, wiring issue, voltage issue, or grease build up. This issue limited how much meat I could put on the grill at a time to avoid uneven cooking. I think they should put their investment towards higher quality prime Galbi rather than prime ribeye, but then again, could be a choice based on the area. The galbi itself isn't true LA style cut, but it's what grocery stores push as an LA cut. True LA cut is a long deboned strip of meat with a single large bone that's cooked separately at the end. Tasted good nonetheless. Accurate marinade. Brisket was bomb. Pan fried dumplings were good. Wrapper was unevenly cooked and would have been better deep fried. Banchan tasted good. It's rare I like every single side dish and they did great every single one. Sizes were small but understandable to reduce waste. If you want more just ask.No steamed egg? No jjigae? Disappointed but personal preference, not a criticism. First bbq I've ever been to that offered galbi jjim but no jjigae. Chose 4 star over 3 since the brisket was nice and the marinade on the galbi was accurate. Overall enjoyed the meal and frankly nitpicking. Korean bbq is a tough restaurant industry and probably even more so in Orlando.

A huge pass. This place use to be BeeKwon and was great. I was super disappointed in the wait time and hot pot. Our waiter was super nice but it took forever for out hot pot to come out. When it did, it was just onions, bulgogi, and mushrooms, with noodles barely enough for one person. I'm not sure if they were having help/kitchen issues but I definitely would not be back. They had a few huge parties and seem to be very attentive to those patrons. $50 for hot pot and that's what was served is really sad. It's more expensive here than other places but very underwhelming.

We're in town for a convention and were craving Korean food after an exhausting day. We found Surah and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the pork mandu--lightly crispy with a flavorful filling, definitely a must-try! For my entrée, I got the brisket tofu stew and requested it mild which was the perfect spice level for me. My bf had the galbi tang and the broth was light yet packed with flavor. The service was very friendly too. We're in town for a few more days and are already planning to come back before we leave!

I'm not sure if I'll come back because of the price and quality of the food. Quality--galbi was cold! I can clearly tell that the dish was frozen before as inside of galbi was cold and the veggies were breaking apart and its colors being dark instead of shiny bright. Perhaps if you're going to freeze, separate by meat and sauce and don't freeze the veggies. When you get the order, put the sauce in the steamer with the meat and fresh veggies and stem for couple minutes extra.Price--I don't think the food's been priced right. It's WAY overpriced for what we're getting. Also if we're paying almost 40 bucks for a galbi, it would have been nice to get banchan refilled... also, BE AWARE you have to pay for your banchan to get refilled by the way!

Amazing food & service at Surah. Took the college & HS kids out for lunch and I was craving this. Saw many good reviews and they did not disappoint. We were so hungry that we started tearing into the food and pictures were an afterthought. Pork fried dumplings, no picture because they were delicious and we devoured them, were up first. Fantastic, sweet and spicy KFC not spicy but very tasty. Now the mains, I've heard of army stew but never had it. This was delicious, but I don't know that I'm coming back just for it. Beef Bugolgi hot pot was PHENOMENAL, really recommend this. Asked the kids for the star rating? 5 out of 5, I think that tells it all right there. Love the ambiance of the place and looking forward to my next trip back!

The service was amazing with us being greeted by friendly staff after arriving 1 hour before closing. Throughout our entire meal, the staff were attentive with refills on side dishes, and tips on when to add the cheese to the stew. The ambiance is modern, elegant and spacious. Let's start with the side dishes, amazing! The salad comes with a tasty little shrimp, the kimchi radish were perfectly tender with a strong kimchi flavor, and the fish cakes had just the right texture and fish taste. The Korean Army Stew was nothing short of impeccable! We've gone to plenty of Korean restaurants and this is the single best Korean dish we've ever had of any restaurant. All of the meats tasted exactly how they should with distinct and delectable flavors and a perfect cook. The staff helped us cook the noodles to just the right texture. But the best part of this dish was the sauce which was full of creamy, and seasoned flavor throughout the entire pan. Amazing! We are sad we don't have such a good restaurant back in California.

I dont even know where to start!! Me and my dance team had a competition in Orlando and was in the mood for Korean food and chose Surah because it was nearby. What an amazing choice because not only was the food amazing, the staff there is so nice and give you time to enjoy the food while also making sure you had everything you need. My recommendation is to get Tteokbokki with Kimchi fried rice!! Also their ssek ssek grape (or sac sac grape) drink is the best thing ive ever tasted. Definitely try Surah!!

Orlando are full of hidden gems. Surah is no exception. Located in a strip mall in a residential area, this Korean restaurant is a welcoming addition to the community. Catering to local appeal, this casual classy establishment will be a must place to eat for Disney visitors and those in the greater metro-Orlando area. Surah is very clean, trendy, and has a distinctive vibe. The service is very family oriented. The owner, Angie, will greet and interact with each guest at their table. A very nice personal touch that I normally don't see anymore. The chef is Angie's brother who has the perfect palate for the business. The food is spot on. I commented how the food reminds me of a good home cooking. I was told that his mom had a big part how the food should taste. Well, kudos to mom and her influence to the chef. So, if Korean food is your desire, it would be unwise to disregard this restaurant. Service, traditional home cooking, and satisfaction will equate to one awesome dining experience.
