I've wanted to try Steakhouse 71 on our last visit but I couldn't make myself go to the Contemporary as it was a bit ways away. Continuing on our honeymoon trip saga, we decided to make ourselves go visit the Contemporary on our rest day. We made a lunch reservation, checked in 20 minutes prior on the app, and waited in the lobby. The place was bustling on a Sunday lunch. My husband and I got the fork & knife caesar salad and french onion soup ($10 each) and they were both really good. Our server, Matt, told us that the caesar dressing is housemade and it was delicious. Loved it. The french onion soup was classic; not too salty or sweet with rich caramelized onion flavor, came out really hot, and the cheese on top was yummy and not too thick. For our entrees, I got the steak frites that came with waffle fries ($28). The steak (which I got medium rare) was okay, could've been better as it was pre-sliced so a tad cold already. But the waffle fries were phenomenal (and I usually don't like waffle fries that much, compared to other fry varietals). Perfectly crispy, hot, and with the truffle aioli? Perfection. My husband got the prime rib sandwich ($22), which was pretty good too. The prime rib was quite tender, but it was a tad bland. It came with horseradish, which added some much needed flavor, but even then I think it could've been slathered on some more. And of course, we had to try the signature Steakhouse 71 chocolate cake ($13) and it did not disappoint. It was so rich and indulgent we could not finish it, but definitely worth trying and sharing if you can. Matt was also kind enough to bring us an extra dessert and champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. Service was great throughout, and he refilled our sodas a few times without asking. We had a great time at lunch, and for Disney I didn't think the prices were actually that high. Granted, I looked at the dinner prices and did not want to pay for dinner prices, so we opted for lunch with no regrets. Would come back again for lunch. Come here, and not definitely not California Grill if you're at the Contemporary.*visited in Dec 2024*

Scooter- My daughter and her friends came last night to celebrate their collective 30th birthdays. Sadly they were poorly served and highly disappointed. These ladies saved for the past year to come to Disney in celebration of their birthdays. The table beside them were served their appetizers and entrees before my daughter and her companions even got their appetizers, and they were seated about 15 minutes after my daughter's party. The table behind them was seated 5 minutes after them, and both of those tables were served and out an hour plus before my daughter and her friends. For you to offer your card as a personal service for their next visit is completely disingenuous. These young ladies who saved for a year all live in Pennsylvania and are not able to return. You owe them a comp of their entire check. As a server myself, your staff had a major fail tonight and you need to make this right for your customers.I am attaching their check in advance of your refund.Susan Blasch

I'm going to be real honest... I haven't had a bad meal here. Steakhouse 71 is one of those rare Disney spots where I know exactly what I like to order, and it delivers every single time. Before I even get into the food, I have to shout out the amazing cast members working here. The service is consistently spectacular, making every visit feel special. On our most recent breakfast visit my wife ordered the Western Omelet (ham, onion, peppers, and cheddar served with breakfast potatoes). When I asked how it was, her first word was "yummy," which is high praise. She especially loved the caramelized onions and the perfectly crispy breakfast potatoes on the side.I went with the Steak and Eggs--two eggs any style, breakfast potatoes, and a small sirloin steak cooked to order with Béarnaise sauce. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, which isn't always easy with a more affordable cut. An absolute winner for a solid breakfast option. For the table, we shared the Steakhouse 71 Seasonal Pancakes, which change based on the time of year. Since it was Valentine's Day, we were treated to red velvet pancakes with a cream cheese icing drizzle. I love that Steakhouse 71 has fun with seasonal menu items like this--kudos to the chefs for their creativity!Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place is a must-visit at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Great food, fantastic service, and a menu that keeps me coming back. Highly recommend!

One of the one of the security guards at the Contemporary Resort actually recommended that I get the red wine sauce to accompany my prime rib and it was absolutely amazing! The prime rib was very tender and the sauce blew me away! I'm returning very soon and can't wait to eat the same meal! The service was great and the ambience was very nice too. Prices are very reasonable especially for being a Disney restaurant. I definitely recommend a visit! Get the red wine sauce too!

We originally had a reservation but decided to sit at the bar instead. The bar has a more limited menu but it was enough for what we were looking for. The bartender was very prompt and helpful. We had our drink orders taken as soon as we sat down. We split a large fishbowl drink, 1971 Sunset, and it was delicious! Definitely one that has to be shared. The caesar salad was quite good. I would recommend asking for the dressing on the side, as it was a little too heavy for myself and another patron sitting near us. But otherwise, delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed but also slightly upscale. It wasn't a Disney park restaurant but you could definitely come in park attire. We absolutely plan to go back, especially for that drink!

10 stars ALWAYSThis was my third time here (all within the past year) Although we haven't stayed at the contemporary resort yet I do love visiting/exploring and coming to Steakhouse 71 while we are in Disney. From drinks to apps and dinner (and can't forget dessert) everything is always timed perfectly , cooked to order, presented beautifully! Menu has just enough options/choices but isn't overwhelming- there is also a children's menu with a decent variety of choices Incase you have picky eaters.. clean, organized, relaxing environment. Reservations always run on time (sometimes earlier!) We are always greeted at the door with smiles and friendly staff.. which also carries on into bartenders, wait staff etc.. everyone is personable , knowledgeable and kind. We have recommended this restaurant to so many people and they have nothing but positive feedback too so try it out !!

I really wanted to like this place ... and came here upon a recommendation from a friend. The food here was very medicore and anyone expecting a steak experience comparable to what you get at Le Cellier at Epcot will definitely be disappointed. My issue stems from the fact that the quality of the meats here were just not that great. The strip I ordered was not very flavorful and somewhat rubbery. The other steaks I tried at the table were also just kind of flabby and not that memorable in any way, especially not for a steakhouse-caliber experience. The garden salad was average and the French onion soup was very salty and I didn't end up finishing it. I have no real sense of the sides as well.Honestly if you're looking for a great meal at the Contemporary, just skip this place and head up to California Grill. The difference is literally night and day. If you want a good steakhouse experience at WDW, just make it easy and go to Le Cellier at Epcot. It's not even in the same universe in terms of meal quality. That said, the service here was very nice and the ambiance was good too. But if you want great steaks, go somewhere else.

It's okay. Service was okay. Greeter needs a lesson in customer service. I get peeps can be forward. Given what they're paying to stay here, I'd expect better for a sit down restaurant. Food was okay. Portions were small by American standards. Needed a little more flavour. Eggs over easy should not be in water? Yup water on my plate under the eggs. The whites were not quite cooked through. Steak was tough. Avocado toast was okay, needed help.

We ate Christmas dinner here. Our server was fantastic, food was delicious, and pricing was expected for a premium Disney hotel. We thought it was odd that they charged the table for a bread basket. Everyone was happy with their entrees and drinks
