Steak ’n Shake

This Steak & Shake looks a little rundown, but it was clean, and the bathrooms were clean too. You place your order at a kiosk. Pretty easy ordering process. When the order is ready they call your name or an order number is called. We, my 3 grandkids and I were there for about an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours. We had so much fun, the music playing was great! We were all enjoying it. We played some games, we sang, we even did some dancing, and of course, took pictures. This Steak n Shake is very family oriented. A place where you can feed yourself and also have fun....

It's been awhile since I've visited a Steak - N - Shake and since I was in the area, decided to dine in. Interaction with the staff is minimal since you order on a kiosk. We were greeted when we arrived and asked if we needed help ordering. Ordered the bacon double cheeseburger meal and the fries were warm when served. Thankfully they replaced those with fresh ones. The burger had good flavor, but I forgot how thin the burger patty is. We were the only ones dining in, but drive-through was busy. Since the counter isn't manned, the installed a QR code reader to activate the fountain drink machine. The restaurant is clean and staff are friendly.

My first Steak 'n Shake experience and it was okay, more than 3 stars but not near enough to warrant 4. The staff were friendly, along with some of the other patrons that were chatting us up as we ordered food through the self-service screen. The restaurant felt a little dated, but it appeared relatively clean and staff were wiping down tables as we walked in. There was a sticky residue on the floors that made shoes cling a little after each step. The highlight of the visit for me was the onion rings, plus I liked that their condiments were plentiful and self-serve as well - no need to beg! My burger was okay, slightly dry and kinda bland. I could have sprinkled their flavor powder on but I didn't; added ketchup instead.

The food is good and the place is decent looking for being dead most of the time. There is an older lady there opening days and she is very sweet and took care of me. I really miss the old steak and shake and not the kiosks. It's sad to see it go down like this. Hoping it stays around because their garlic butter burger is delicious and the prices are amazing. Only thing thats iffy is that they do lock the soda fountain which I'm guessing it's because people take advantage of it that don't buy the drinks; but I do think that's a little intimidating and makes customers iffy about the location.

Don't order from app during dinner. You'll have to wait in the drive thru and you're guaranteed to get your food cold.

I don't know why I keep coming back to this location. I forget because of the proximity it each time I'm there I'm wondering why again..... Steak and Shake offers consistently good steak burgers and fries but this locations customer service is absolutely garbage. The drive thru is configured strangely and no matter what you order or if no one is behind you, you will be asked to pull up to the door. The scanner never works , or at least it hasn't for the last 8 months so you can't redeem rewards, additionally the scan/code on the receipt works 25% of the time.

i went to get a doordash order and everyone in the restaurant is extremely unprofessional in my opinion, no welcome in or greeting and when i got the order i asked for a piece of tape because the bag was open a bit and the lady literally rolled her eyes at me

I grew up eating at this Steak n Shake location since the late 1970's and early 1980's when it was Very Good. Now, the food is Beyond terrible as is the service. It is absolutely filthy. There are gnats flying around because the trash hasn't been taken out and it is 4pm. The tables are not wiped down. Matthew thr manager is completely ignorant and does not help customers when he staff gets the order wrong. The table next to me complained about their Frisco melts so we commiserated together. I ordered a simple combo with fries. I had to beg for my fries which were cold. I never received the chili that I ordered. The milkshake tasted Terrible and did not add add-ins that I paid for. This place sucks so badly. I refuse to even use the free milkshake coupon that I received to do the survey because I won't be back and I will tell 10 people to go somewhere else. I should have paid almost 20 bucks at the Tex-Mex restaurant across the street. I would have been treated better and had a decent meal. Terrible job Steak N Shake!

Ordered a peppermint chocolate shake. Sat in line for a long time, which is to be expected sometimes here, but hoping the shake wasn't made and just sitting. Finally at window paid with some loose quarters and the rest on debit. Lady didn't know how to ring that in so sat another 5-10 min and waited for manager to help her. Never was given shake while she figured out how to accept change with a card. Finally received a completely melted shake that was no longer fully cold, sloshed around, with completely melted whipped cream also. Drove around, went inside. The manager was working and was the one who met at counter. Wasn't overly friendly. Didn't really speak or say sorry. She made shake over and I was handed a shake that was not full by about 2 inches. Why would a shake be so hard to get right? Isn't the name steak and SHAKE after all?
