Steak ’n Shake

My first shake. The shake was delicious. Butterfinger, as recommended by the drive thru lady.But I'd isn't get a cherry on top and I felt like I was missing some of my milkshake- if was not filled as high as I expected.

The first time I had Steak 'n Shake when a location briefly opened in California, I was hooked. The food wasn't spectacular, but it was the shakes that really drew me in. My favorite is the Nutella. They also had a dark chocolate one which was delicious but sadly is apparently not on the menu anymore. When this location closed, it wasn't until I moved to Florida when I was able to have Steak 'n Shake again. Sadly, this particular location has given me probably the worse restaurant experience I've ever had.I'm not really one to eat inside of restaurants so I usually order delivery through Doordash. The food is prepared the same way by the same staff so it doesn't really matter. I ordered a Nutella shake, a regular cheeseburger with added pickles and onions, five piece chicken strips, and a large onion ring side. I also added a side of sauce for the chicken strips. The delivery person was at the restaurant and to my house within ten minutes. When I was delivered, the fries were ice cold. The onion rings were soggy, and it only contained around four tiny rings for a size "large." The burger was missing the onions and pickles and was completely smashed (attached pic doesn't do much justice). The sauce for the chicken strips was not there. Oh, and did I mention the shake was completely absent? This is the fault of the delivery driver as well, but the restaurant should have ensured the shake was included with the pick up of the food. The chicken strips were the size of my pinkie finger and were tough to chew. The burger went straight into the trash followed by the onion rings and fries. Completely inedible.Needless to say I got a full refund due to this unacceptable food. I've never been more disappointed in my one of favorite restaurants. A few weeks later I wanted to give them one more chance. I didn't take the risk of ordering anything but a shake. Ordered my Nutella shake. It arrived completely watered down, whipped cream sloppily smeared on top and no Nutella drizzled on top which is what is advertised and what I got back in California. Yeah, I've lost hope in this place.

I truly enjoyed this place for the old-school field that it gives you. Plus the milkshakes lol the food is very tasty and I enjoyed my time being spending.

The food is amazing especially the fries and chili and of course the shakes. Yes we know it takes a long time in the drive-through but it's cooked to order they make it fresh. Every time a new order is placed. The inside is clean. The food is amazing the prices are great I recommend to download the app to order ahead, so don't wait in the drive-through.

This location was by far the worst food experience i have ever had and i am from California. The person taking the order was straight up disrespectful and too be honest a disgusting human being. This was at 10:45pm on 12/04/21. This lady taking the order was a wearing navy blue jacket with three colored strips across the chest. She had a horrible attitude and was a complete waste of a hourly wage. You could hear in her voice how much disdain he felt by taking any order.This was my first experience at Steak 'n Shake and too be honest there's no reason to ever go back. She destroyed the whole experience and event with asking questions about what's in burgers to asking for ketchup / mayonnaise or extra napkins she said no we don't have anything and and left us with nothing. The whole crew was horrible, seeing them slack and laugh in the back while receiving a poor excuse for a undercooked burger.This place deserves a 0 star rating. No recovery would make this place better. Cut your losses and move one.

When we moved to Lake Mary, we were excited about having access to a Steak 'n Shake. Though we didn't have them in Central PA where I'm originally from, we had bumped into them from time-to-time on our travels and generally loved the idea of a place primarily committed to old-school burgers and fries, served diner-style and quickly at that. Unfortunately, this Lake Mary location seems to be perpetually understaffed, is not particularly well-kept from a cleanliness perspective and more often than not, we end up walking out as we can rarely get seated in a timely manner when we walk in. I don't fault the staff as they look to be overstressed (usually one or two servers handling the "front of the house", which includes seating and running the register, in addition to the normal serving jobs).When I can actually get seated, my kids and I generally enjoy the food. That said, it's obvious that cleanliness is not a priority. The tables and booths are not particularly well wiped down and you can pretty much guarantee you'll notice traces of other people's food if you dare pickup a ketchup bottle or seasoned salt. Additionally, we have left on at least one occasion after walking in the door and being confronted with a horrible odor (like vomit).I really wish this location could get its act together. It'd be an awesome option as an alternative to typical fast food, but the consistency is just not there.

I went sunday morning it was really busy I had a big order and the young lady was really nice she is manger very sweet helped me with my whole order and even told me I could get a free shake by filling out a survey loved her did take a little long but it was busy in the dinning room and drive thru she helped a lot of people while she was going back and forth with doing drive thru and helping with shakes but that's to her I had a good experience food was good shakes were good and the survive was good my kids enjoyed the food and shakes

This location is disgustingly bad. the kiosk was Not working too us so long to put in the order only for it to take our did it take the money. They reset it and put the wrong order in and no one knew how to fix it . Our burgers were disappointing, the meat tasted different , fries were cold . Overall a waste of time & money . Unless they CLEAN that place throughly, I will never step foot back into another Steak N Shake again ... my feet stuck to the floor - so gross

Horrible experience. We pull up to drive thru and told to "Hold on" after about 7 minutes I finally say hello? and they ask for my order while having conversations within their co-workers. i had to repeat large fry and 2 shakes three times. I pull up ti the window and they again ask to repeat my order while still laughing and conversating with eachother. After a few minutes we get our fries. 5 minutes later we get 1 shake. Another 5 minutes we get our shake. no straws. Very rude and taking their time as I see them all just chit chatting. Honestly it was suspicious when I saw them making shakes then bend over, start laughing and look back at us. I got home and threw them away. I forget how much I hate going here when I just want a shake. I advise best to make your own or please go somewhere else. Always a horrible experience and poor service.

How do you even make food this gross? Seriously, the food comes out cold, congealed, and dry every time at this location.
