Food 4/5Service 5/5Ambiance 4/5St John's was an awesome find in the Sanford area and it's right next to the water. The stuffed grouper was very flavorful. The waiter made a solid recommendation to have the sauce on the side which I appreciated as it was very sweet. The gator and calamari were fried well but it was heavier on the salt content. The filet mignon was well done. The service staff all assisted with each table so it was different but still efficient. We look forward to returning here!

When we went, multiple servers were assigned to our table and everyone we spoke with was pleasant. We were fortunate enough to be seated immediately with no reservation, but based on the other reviews that does not always seem to the case. Overall good experience.

Delicious food at this no frills restaurant. Ambiance is a bit old Florida and a tab outdated, but that didn't bother me at all. I love the location of this restaurant, right on the water. Beautiful views. The portions were big and food was very tasty and delicious. Got the calamari to share - which was perfectly cooked. Crab cakes with mac and cheese, and broccoli for my entree - all of it fantastic. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend checking this place out! I will be back for sure!

I don't know where to start here. First the location is nice, right on the water. That's about all for positives. Second, The place is extremely dated and badly needs an update. Third, the food....it was just bad. We aren't foodies, just like good, regular food. we had coconut shrimp as an appetizer which was just OK. My wife and I had scallops. Mine were overcooked and rubbery, my wife's were undercooked and raw. Another persons had the crab cakes and the batter was the same used in the fried shrimp. We all ordered hush puppies, which were horrible. Over cooked, same breading and batter as shrimp and crab cakes. I see the positive reviews here and can't figure out what I am missing, but I know we won't be returning for a second chance. I'd suggest you don't give it a first chance.

The overall experience on the dinner boat (Barbra Lee) was good. There were good and not so good things about the three hour dinner boat trip.The good part was the nice table setup on the top deck. The seafood dinner was pretty good. The number one large male crabs were the best part of the food experience the waiters drop as many as you could eat at the table then wrap any left overs up to take home. The boat ride in general was relaxing.The not good parts. We were seated in the upper deck but the food was served at the bottom deck. By the time we figured it out the line was long and food was running short. Guests stacked their trays full there was no seconds available. The cocktails were small, weak and expensive. The DJ was horrible. The music he played was ok but the transition between songs was a disaster every time. Some of the guests were running around and just too loud for me got on my nerves.The dinner boat offers several different themed options for guests. I am not opposed to going again to see if the not so good things still happen.

Great food and amazing service. The tacos were great and refreshing, and this is now my new favorite place to get shrimp and grits. Fried fish has a bit too much batter and a bit under-seasoned .

I happened to be in DeBary for a doctor's appointment and I wanted to grab some lunch afterward, so I looked up a few options and noticed this restaurant in Sanford had good reviews. As soon as I got there I noticed the view. The lake where the restaurant is at is absolutely gorgeous. I wish the actual restaurant was just as pretty though (the decoration is lacking). I think this restaurant has so much potential, but they need to improve the ambiance. The food is a hit or miss. I got the shrimp, which was big, juicy, and flavorful; my mom got the grouper, and it was completely flavorless. She had to add butter, salt, and pepper to try and make it better. All of our sides were good though. I got the coleslaw and the hush puppies and they were both delicious. The prices were what I was expecting. It was $21 for the shrimp and $27 for the grouper (both of them included two sides). I thought it was a bit overpriced, but I understand the prices considering the location and the fact that the seafood was actually fresh (not all of them are flavorful though, I guess it depends on what you get). The portions were also good. Presentation could've been a little better. The way my food was plated wasn't too appetizing, especially the side salad. Service was amazing. Our server was super friendly and she gave us recommendations from the menu. She was constantly checking up on us and making sure we had everything we needed. This place is definitely great when it comes to location and service, but I think they could improve in ambiance, food, and prices.

My fiancé and I took a ride to Sanford during our trip to Florida, and the city overall is sooo cute. This restaurant is right on a lake, and a lot of the seats inside offer a great view of the water. We didn't have a reservation, but we did call ahead about an hour or so before arriving and were put on the call ahead list, which shortened our wait a ton! Luckily, we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our table to be ready, and in the meantime, we sat on a bench in front of the restaurant and enjoyed the sunshine and the view of the lake. Once we were seated, we were greeted right away and the service was fast. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. For our meal, we started with the crab cakes as an appetizer, and split the "A Walk Down Bourbon" seafood boil, which included crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage, and garlic bread. It was great! Delicious flavor and a great amount of food for the price. I liked our visit a lot! I would recommend trying this place out

Tried this place today. Hard to find because there's no legible sign as to the name of the restaurant . (see photo) Went for lunch today & I had the fried haddock platter. I don't think I've ever seen haddock sliced that thin. the breading was tasty & crunchy. $21 dollars. For lunch. Add a glass of wine & a tip & you're looking at a $40 lunch. I probably won't do that again.Service was good, as they operate by teamwork & that works great.
