Slam Pizza & Cheesesteaks

I was a big fan of Mr. Z's and really wanted to love Slams just as much. For a while, it became a weekly tradition for our family of five. My kids especially loved the cheese fries--we used to order one portion, and it was more than enough to satisfy them.Unfortunately, over the past year, the portion sizes have become noticeably smaller. I've tried the restaurant several times, hoping it was just a one-off issue, but it's been consistently disappointing. Now, I have to order three portions to feed my kids, which makes it no longer worth the price.It's a shame because we truly enjoyed their homemade cheese, cheesesteaks, and pizza. If they return to offering better portion sizes that justify the cost, we'd gladly come back. Until then, we're looking elsewhere.

This is a go to spot when you need a lunch break. The food is excellent, no doubt about it. The cheessteak eggrolls are amazing. They have some outdoor seating, and the bathrooms are kept very clean.

Slam is my favorite local pizza spot. I visit weekly and sometimes twice a week. I really enjoy all of the pizza with my favorite being Greek, White Pie, BBQ Chicken. Definitely can't go wrong with the traditional pepperoni or cheese. The cheesesteaks are also really good, including the chicken cheesesteak. Can't decide, my go to is pizza with the cheesesteak eggrolls which pair well with the house ranch or cheese sauce. Service is always great! Ambiance is nice with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Wifey had spinach salad with pecans, cranberries, dates and honey vinaigrette. Cheesesteak sub was yummy, I wish the bun was toasted (I never asked), fries were crispy and a large order, cheesesteak egg rolls were fantastic too. Everything was delicious and fresh! Lot of customers coming and going. Good atmosphere, clean bathrooms. Service was great too. We'll be back. You should go too. All of that was only $31. Sorry for the pic, it was all more than half eaten lol.

Stopped in for lunch. Grabbed a few slices and soda. The place was very busy, so must be a good sign. The restaurant was very clean and all the employees were very friendly. Limited seating, but was able to grab a table outside. The pizza was good, but nothing spectacular. Definitely good prices though.

I'm a boomer but this place slaps! Nothing sketch about the pricing, either. The pizza and cheesesteaks were like, bussin'!

Why? Whyyy would you put a cheesesteak on that cheap grocery store bread?? I used to love Mr. Z's. To the point that we went there on our wedding night. SLAM absolutely has not lived up to their clout. I had high hopes when they first took over but the quality keeps going down and down. The pizza sauce is decent but could use a it more. The crust was really tasty so that was my favorite part. The cheesesteak meat was seasoned well and I'm happy I chose it without the mushrooms out of fear the quantity would be even less. Pretty sure the bread was either Martin's or Wonderbread. Zero texture and couldn't hold up to the weight of a good cheesesteak meat. This was really disappointing from what this spot used to be. Really disappointing.

Solid first visit today to Slam Pizza for lunch, in terms of specialty pies, service, and ambiance. I'd definitely have to return to try one of their cheesesteaks, although I'm going to need a bigger appetite because their portion sizes look pretty good. This is certainly the place to be at lunchtime, so be prepared for a bit of a wait (5 minutes). Fortunately, the lady manning the register knew what she was doing and Slam can rock and roll with any hungry crowd. My preference was for the Greek slice, with kalamata olives and banana peppers. Delicious thin crust, just crunchy enough for those of us with a preference for same. My less than $9 bill was for 2 slices, a refillable fountain drink, AND it included the tip. Do you know how hard it is to find a deal like that nowadays? Also, I like how they serve on regular plastic plastics versus paper, which cuts down on waste. I did think the cheese slice paled very much in comparison to the Greek slice. But that won't keep me from coming back to Slam for more. Let the boys be boys...

The BEST cheesesteaks anywhere! Make sure you're hungry because the sub is HUGE!! The bun is fluffy and soft, the cheese perfectly melted, and the steak..oh my! Tender and flavorful! The fries are the best I've ever had. Someone wasn't joking when they said the cheesesteak eggrolls put you into a (happy) food coma. The mozzarella sticks are big and perfectly cooked.The staff is always friendly and greet you like a friend. The pricing is reasonable as you will get your money's worth if not more.I hope they're around for a very long time.

Slams is a mf slamdunk!! Cashier and food runner are always so nice, I love seeing everyone support local. Overall great service and great food
