We came here one evening with some friends for Magical Dining Month. Different hibachi places have different offerings for MDM, but Shogun won out this year for best offering. They had a whole app, the whole meal, and even a dessert for that one set Magical price. It was a no brainer. It's in a three star tourist hotel in the tourist area of town. It's very clean and sleek and has some nice Japanese décor all around. It's a good vibe. Comfortable. Service was awesome, too. Since they cater to greedy, grumpy tourists, I think they recruit the best hibachi chefs. The guy put on a good show. And the server was good, too. Drinks were certainly flowing. As for the food, like I said, there was a lot. Since the promotion is over, I won't go into too many details here, but just so you get the idea of everything we got, AppsSpicy Tuna Roll + Kaiso Salad (Spicy tuna rolled in sushi rice with sesame seeds and nori seaweed, garnished with spicy mayo, served with kaiso (seaweed) salad). Solid roll. It would have been fine just the roll, but they add in delicious seaweed salad! Nice.Gyoza + Harumaki (Fried chicken and vegetable potstickers and vegetable spring rolls served with tangy, sweet soy sauce). Six little things on one plate! Fried crispy and served with that great tangy sauce. MainsShogun Special Teppanyaki Entrée (New York strip steak, shrimp, and teriyaki chicken with fried rice and vegetables cooked at your table teppanyaki style, served with soup and salad). Good stuff. Steak wasn't overcooked. Always love the soup. The Kabuki Teppanyaki Entrée (Chicken, shrimp, and scallops with fried rice and vegetables cooked at your table teppanyaki style, served with soup and salad). Also good. Scallops were so not overcooked, they were borderline undercooked, which is rare, but they were good. Big fan. DessertChocolate Decadence Cake (Shogun's famous chocolate cake with drizzles of chocolate sauce and whipped cream). This was good. Really sweet and a healthy portion size. Just what I would expect. Ice Cream (Two scoops of ice cream of your choice: matcha (green tea) or azuki (red bean)). Lovely, nice flavor. I suspect a lot of people come here that don't run into these flavors too often, so this is a good chance for them to experience them. Yummy. Overall, I'm so glad we came here. It was a good time with good friends over a good meal. I'll be back the next time they're the best hibachi menu for MDM.

Pros: I think it's a major pro that this place participates in Magical Dining. I wish more places did that around town. It's such a good event. Ambiance is fun. Clean and very professional. Lots of Japanese décor all around. Service was great, including the hibachi chef. Very charismatic and did a lot of cool tricks for us. Food was so good. Nothing was bad, including the apps we got before the main hibachi time. Cons: No cons. The salad presentation was a little off-putting, but it was still good. Tips: Just come here for MDM. It's a good price for the hibachi itself, AND THEN you also get an app and a dessert. So cool.

What a fun night at Shogun. I had a Groupon so we saved about $25 on our meal. We came on a Sunday night with reservations, but it was not that busy. Our waitress was friendly and the chef was fun. From start to finish we were here about two hours. I don't recall hibachi normally taking that long, but we were sitting with some other locals and were having good conversation so the time went by fast.

I went here to try their Magical Dining menu. During Magical Dining you get an appetizer, main course and a dessert for $40.We made a reservation and arrived 10 minutes early. We were greeted and showed to our table. We were seated with two other groups, a total of nine people. Our server was friendly and helpful. I have to highlight that she was extremely patient after a group at the table had several questions about the menu, delaying the experience a little bit. They didn't let the server move in order. For example, taking the drinks order first instead of jumping to the menu questions when we were not there yet. The server handled it pretty well. For the appetizer we got the Red Dragon sushi and the Gyoza+Harumaki. Both were delicious. The sushi was amazing! For the main entree we got the Shogun Special Teppanyaki which included New York strip steak, shrimp and teriyaki chicken, rice and vegetables. Not sure if it is the best hibachi I have ever had but it was better than others around. For dessert we got chocolate cake. It was a little too sweet for me. I should have picked matcha tea ice cream or cheesecake. By the end of the meal we were so full we took the desserts to go.The show was great. Our chef Nate was hilarious.Overall, I liked the experience here.

Shogun's Japanese Restaurant is a hidden gem in Orlando! The ambiance is inviting, with a traditional feel that makes you feel right at home. The sushi is fresh and beautifully presented, and the hibachi is always a crowd-pleaser--both flavorful and entertaining! The staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to recommend dishes, making the whole experience memorable. I especially love their unique rolls and the variety on the menu. If you're looking for an authentic Japanese experience in Orlando, Shogun's is definitely worth a visit!

A fairly standard teppanyaki restaurant within Rosen Inn. It's a decent sized place that doesn't seem to get too busy. We got seated right away and a waiter took our appetizer and drink orders. We ordered the tuna tataki and Japanese slipper. The drink tasted good but didn't seem to pack much of a punch. The tuna was fine. It took a while for our appetizers and drinks to come out but after that the rest of the night went smoothly. Our waitress checked up on us several times throughout the dinner which I appreciated. How much you enjoy the cooking show probably depends on your personality and which cook you get. Our chef, Roland, was funny but kind and not overbearing. He vibed with our group well. The food was pretty good portions and the taste was fine. Nothing amazing but not bad. I ordered the filet mignon and lobster combo. The steak was great but the lobster was a little too salty for me. We had a decent meal here but I'm also not rushing to come back.

I came here with my family for Bite30. We made a reservation and we were sat immediately upon arrival. We did have an earlier reservation time (6:30 pm) so it was quite empty inside, but by the time we left it was filling up. The portion sizes were good but my youngest was served a smaller portion by the chef yet I was charged full price for an adult entree. So I wasn't very happy about that situation. We did order a kids meal so I didn't mind until I saw they charged her as an adult. Also, If you're going to run a deal like the bite30, it gets confusing pricing everything out differently on the receipt. Instead of just $35 per person. I don't think I would come here again though. I wasn't a big fan of the miso soup and I found the rice to be lacking in flavor. Inside of the restaurant is nice. It looks like your typical hibachi bar.

We came here for the first time tonight for Bite30 and it was a great deal based on the regular menu prices. Note you do need to ask for the Bite30 menu because they don't proactively give them to guests which is the norm for the drive area who caters typically to tourists. We did not realize this was a hibachi restaurant until we arrived and were seated at a traditional hibachi grill table with other patrons. A server came promptly to take our order for food and drinks but then we had to wait a long time for a chef to come despite it being relatively not busy. We especially enjoyed the miso soup, scallop and shrimp dinner, sake martini, and red bean ice cream. Our chef was kind and entertaining, even doing a volcano lava trick I'd never seen before, but luckily didn't drag it out too long. We would come back.

I went with my dad on a Saturday night for the Bite 30 promotion. I tried to make a reservation at OpenTable, but I was very surprised that the earliest they had available for two was at 9pm. We came that time and were seated at the hibachi table with other people. I ordered a mojito while my dad had sake for drinks. The mojito was quite on the sweeter side, but I did provide a good buzz. My dad's hot sake was generic, but it was ok. For my appetizer, I did the spicy tuna roll while my dad did the chicken gyoza. The tuna roll had an ample amount of tuna with the spicy mayo on the side. Normally the sauce would be drizzled on the sushi, but I guess they put it on the side for people who can't handle the spiciness. The gyoza was good and filled with chicken and vegetables. Before the main show came, our meal also included soup and salad. The soup was just miso and the salad had fresh lettuce in ginger sauce. It was good, but nothing special. A couple minutes later, our chef came. He cooked the rice and vegetables first, then the meat. The rice and vegetables were good, especially after adding the yum yum sauce. For my entree, I did the chicken, shrimp, and scallops. The shrimp were on the smaller side, but were fresh. The scallops were cut into bite sized pieces and had a good flavor. Normally the chicken would be overcooked and dry at most Japanese restaurants, but this was a bit more tender and adding the yum yum sauce helped even more. My dad had the salmon, and he enjoyed it as well. There was enough food to take home, and a doggy bag was provided. For dessert, I did the green tea ice cream while my dad had red bean. There was enough ice cream that we shared it with other guests. The green tea had enough flavor to enjoy, but I still like hagan daz the best. The service was good and paced nicely. Nothing was rushed and we had ample time to enjoy our food before and after the show. Our chef was the highlight as he was entertaining in doing tricks. It isn't a Japanese steakhouse without a volcano. He also lit other food on fire, and juggled some utensils. The atmosphere is very casual as this is inside the Rosen hotel. For the Bite 30 promotion (3 courses for 35 dollars), this was a good deal. While the food wasn't as good as Kobe's, the entertainment matched it. Even though the atmosphere was generic and casual, the service was good and nicely paced. Parking was free and gated. This restaurant has been here for a very long time, and the quality will keep this restaurant going for many more years.
