Wow!A whole new way to have a meal!Definitely worth the experience, not mention awesome food!Lately we've been trying to eat with a Vegan theme. Man, this place is awesome for a Vegan meal. They have other meat options that look really good. This time we had the Vegan Sampler platter for (2)two (would easily serve (4)four in my opinion. All Good here with plenty of flavor!Service was awesome as well!

Looking for dinner and stumbled across this gem within 5 minutes of our hotel. Ethiopian food was a first for us both. Don't bother with silverware, hands work just fine!We ordered the meat and before combo player for us both and we are confident it could have served 3-4 people easily. The staff were super friendly and helpful answering all the questions we had and helped choose our meal. The entire place was an experience that you shouldn't miss. We will be back next time we in the area!

What an amazing dining experience. We enjoyed family style; We started with two beef and two chicken samosas. $9. We preferred the beef to the chicken but both were very flavorful. For our mains we ordered Goden Adbar Tibs (beef ribs) $24.95. Just the right amount of spice to warm the palate with earthy flavors from the herbs and spices. We enjoyed that the beef wasn't dry and paired well with the meser wot (red lentils) we'd ordered $6. For our second main we choose Ye Beg Tibs (lamb) $19.99 sizzling in butter seasoned onions, green pepper and tomatoes. The flavors are Heavenly. Both dishes eye served on an oversized platter lined with injera. I also enjoyed my first Ethiopian beer Habesha $6 for an import is a good deal and a glass of Rift Valley Red Blend wine $9.We finished our dining journey with a pistachio baklava $5 sufficiently moist with honey and flaky phyllo and Ethiopian coffee ceremony $10. After our meal the owner made it a point of visiting our table to ensure we enjoyed our meal and to offer coffee or their very fragrant Selam Fragrant Ethiopian tea. We will DEF be returning for another dining experience and recommend this establishment.

This was amazing and delicious, 5 stars all around! I got the Timatim fitfit, awaze beef tibs and an Ethiopian coffee, all were utterly delicious. I sat at the bar and was helped by several different servers, the main girl that waited on me helped me pick what to eat as my main meal and we discussed several other dishes. All and all I highly recommend.

This is a solid Ethiopian restaurant! When the injera is dark and the cabbage is yellow, you know the food is going to be good!!!! Somebody is in the kitchen cooking the right way! Very friendly staff and affordably priced! I was in town for business and staying in a hotel so I took my food to-go. When I made it back to my room the food was still hot and fresh! I had leftovers, for lunch, the next day and even after microwaving it was still delicious!

Selam is my new favorite restaurant in Orlando. I can't get enough! I dream of my next visit.Wasn't sure what to expect arriving here but we were quickly seated to a table and the staff are all so kind. They joke with you. They explain things. They always have a smile on their face. We went ahead and ordered the veggie platter with the doro wat chicken. They placed it all on one platter and the food hit the table within 10 minutes of ordering. Thankfully because we were so hungry! They have a handwashing station nearby so we were able to wash our hands before and after the meal. The food is spectacular. Just the right amount of salt and seasoning. The injera is perfectly made. I loved the egg in the doro wat. We crumbled it up and used the injera to dip into our sauces. $40 for 2 people. It was so good, we came back within 2 days. Keep it up guys!

Vegetarians beware: we ordered lentil samosa and was served chicken. And it's not like they were busy... we were literally the only people in the restaurant. We tried to be cool about it but upon reflection hours later, this is really not ok. The rest of the food (vegetarian combo) was honestly mid compared to other Ethiopian I have had in the past (in DC, NC, and CO). This is the only Ethiopian I have had in Orlando, so I can't compare it to anything else in the area. I won't be returning. The waiter was nice and apologetic and the ambiance is fine.

My husband and I are so happy we found this place! We've been looking for an Ethiopian restaurant since moving to FL from NY. We had the samosas for our appetizer and we had the shared meal of lentils and greens. EVERYTHING was so good! We can't wait to go back.

I'll be honest, I was hesitant as I walked in. The place was quiet and I hadn't tried this particular cuisine but it looked as though everyone was loving their meal. First off we had the chicken samosas and mannnn they did not disappoint! Served with a red salsa that had a bit of spice, they were truly packed with flavor. And between orders, everyone was sooo friendly, it felt like every single person stopped by our table to check on us. Doro tibs is diced chicken breasts sautéed in red sauce and you can order it mild, medium or spicy. I went for medium and it had little spice so don't be afraid.I see why they have 5 stars!
