I really enjoy the food here, and the prices are great, so it's disappointing to leave this rating. I've been here a few times, but this visit left a bad impression. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged $1.98 for a bottled water I didn't order. When I asked about it, the cashier, Jose, first said it was for ice. When my wife asked for clarification, he changed his answer, saying it was for filtered tap water--$1.00 for the water and $0.98 for tax.The food is excellent, but be sure to check your bill before paying. Unfortunately, it seems like overcharging customers is acceptable here.

The best papusas in central Florida true hole in the wall with a dining room on Lancaster rd. It is in a small strip mall that is being remodeled so let google maps get you there. The tamale is a traditional Salvadoran style with chicken and potato wrapped in mass that melts in your mouth. Those are the only two things we ordered but the menu has a good variety of choices

Restaurante Salvadoreno la Familia is a small no-frills type restaurant that despite the business name, they seem to be having a personality crisis as to whether they want to offer Salvadoran food or classic American diner food.Next to pupusas, soup and other Salvadoran foods, they have sandwiches, breakfasts and other menu items that would be more at home on a diner menu than a Salvadoran restaurant menu.Since I am pretty much obsessed with pupusas, I went with three pupusas. They were fairly priced at three dollars a piece. The ordering process is relatively straightforward. You go to the counter and place your order. When it is ready, they bring it to your table. My pupusas were brought to me with the expected slaw and sauce. I find that the best pupusas that I have had here in this country were in Nashville, Tennessee and I found some great pupusas at a flea market on Orange Blossom Trail here in Orlando, Florida, but comparing it to other pupusas that I have tried here in Orlando (other than the ones at the OBT Flea Market), they were good. Not great, not the type that would haunt my dreams, but good.If you are looking for a local place, this place is not a bad place. Not great, but overall decent.Overall, I will give it four stars.

From the moment I walked in I received attitude. The lady stated they close at 9pm we walked in at 8:24 the google, and yelp both state 9:30pm? Okay well I let it slide, we got menus sat down and waited for her to come get our order. 8:40 a group of woman come inside she brings them menus almost immediately, I could see they were treated different the moment they walked in. Why? I don't know. We get our food eat, and wait for her to come check up on us...she didn't. So I get up to check out at counter, asked her for a container in Spanish and she looks at me and ignores me. My partner had to ask her, in order for her to give us one. Overall, will never come back despite the affordable prices.

Found this small restaurant and it was good. Service was a little slow, but wasn't expecting fast service. Ordered Popusas and they were amazing! Only bad thing was their slaw was old, so it had a weird taste. Horchata was super sweet, so wouldn't recommend that. Jamaica was my favorite drink. Also, ordered two sandwiches and they were delicious.

(2/28/2024) We came by for a workday lunch. It's in a blink and you'll miss it run down strip mall covered in exposed yellow Tyvek on Lancaster. Our Salvadoran coworker was looking for a pupusa place to fill a longing for home cooking. She loved these pupusa, faves are the loroco, calabazas, jalapeno and cheese, and bean and cheese. As much as I'm glutton for things with all the things, less is more in these cases. We did get the Pupusa Loca, which is one with everything (queso, frijol, chicharrone, loroco, ayote y pollo), and while it was tasty, it did sort of all run out of the pupusa and puddled in grease. I'm a fan of fried pork cubes and yuca, so we always get a platter of chicharrones. We've been a few times by now and brought newbs with us. The last time we got tacos, and they were good, but you're really there for the pupusas and the typical Salvadoran platters. You can hear them patting out the pupusas in the kitchen, they're made to order. Also, they ferment their own curtido, which gets brought to you in large jars, and is a delicious complement to the creamy, rich corn, meat, and cheese. There usually isn't anyone in the dining room when we're there in the daytime, but there are a fair number of large tables looks like set up for families. It also looks like it's family run, and they're all so very nice and welcoming. Don't sleep on this place.

Originally we were looking for Guatemalan food but that restaurant was closed on the day we came here . So we decided to go to restaurante salvadoreño. Food was good. I got the típico which was delicious breakfast. Scramble eggs were good filled with onion and peppers. My kids got a grill cheese and steak sandwich and some smoothies. The smoothies were good definitely recommend those. The cheese sandwich looked good as well for just being a grill cheese . And my son liked his steak sandwich. We also ordered pupusas which were one of the better ones I've had in a while so I was really happy with that. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Staff was nice and friendly. Plenty of seating and they had rest rooms . Overall good food and good service.

I am usually not a picky eater but one thing I have noticed is the pace of this restaurant is very slow. I was waiting a good 55 minutes for my food which is excessive, I was very hungry and I kept seeing other people get served so I wasn't sure if they just ordered before us or what the reasoning for that was. Like I have mentioned, an excessive amount of time. I finally lost my patience and asked the waitress and she said it was due to a big order before us. But an hour almost just waiting? I have not experienced this in almost any restaurant before. I try to not be that person but tbh I don't think I will be coming back because how can I trust this won't happen again.

Food is very good and the flavors are Authentic Salvadorean. The only CON I can think about is that they don't carry the whole menu every day.I ordered som Tamales and they were removed from my order because they didn't have, called to see if they have an specific day to make them available and I was told "I DON'T KNOW WHEN WE WILL HAVE" also "THAT IS A PROBLEM FROM THE KITCHEN"RIDICULOUS ANSWERS!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------La comida es muy buena y con el sabor autentico Salvadoreño.

The service was terrible. We had a lady that wears glasses service us, she first started off with a bad attitude. She only gave us 3 ice cubes in our water. Then was bothered when we asked for a cup of ice. When she brought our order she brought my order wrong and when I told her she told me no you did ask for that and was insisting that I was wrong. When she brought the right order she just slammed the plates on the table and said there and left. She did not attend us after that. As for their food it was good sum stuff was kinda salty but that just must be me. But
