Positano Trattoria Pizzeria

What a treat to discover Positano Italian. Amazingly good and oohh that bread and must also mention that Nicholi provided great service.

The pasta! The bread! The service! ALL INCREDIBLE. I really don't think you can go wrong at this restaurant. It's all homemade, even the bread rolls... queue my carb coma! LOL. But seriously this is a great easy breezy casual Italian restaurant: perfect for a night out with your sweetheart, with some friends or just by yourself (like me).

I cannot believe we've lived in DeLand for years and have never been to Positano's. Everything was excellent from service to food. We shared a Caesar salad, garlic knots and the nightly special, gnocchi with meat sauce. All was fresh, delish, and piping hot. Our server was amazing. Can't wait to come back and try the pizza.

Stopped in on a Saturday evening while strolling Delightful Downtown DeLand. Only one other party in the place on a busy downtown night. Several orders were being carried out so I garnered that much of their business must be takeout. Both the pepperoni and white pizzas were very good. I liked the crust. Service was mediocre. No refill offered on my drink and no check back to the table in a reasonable amount of time. I'd go back because the pizza was good, but I might check out the pizza/Italian place a block over. They were packed with people sitting outside.

Ambiance was average. It was clean. Older tables. Service was great but it was very difficult to understand our server. He was very very kind but hard to understand. Even harder for my hard-of-hearing spouse. The spaghetti and meatballs dish was $18.95. PLUS an up charge for using a credit card instead of cash on top of the high prices. There were 2 meatballs. The serving was nothing huge. And the sauce was like something served in a school cafeteria. Like sauce dumped out of a can onto the noodles. A piece of bread was included.We ate it because we were hungry, but we have had SO much better. We used to go to a place in Winter Springs and for the same price you at least got a side salad and a loaf of bread and olive oil (endless) . Same price. Way better quality. I think the higher ratings were from the pizza. I wanted to like this place. We were just very disappointed. Also, tip was suggested and based off the total price post tax. It's supposed to be pretax. 4/4 stars for service, 4/5 stars for ambiance but 1/5 for food quality/ price.

Our friend recommend that we should dine here for lunch while out-n-about in the downtown Deland area. When we arrived, our server greeted us promptly and stated we could sit anywhere we like. It wasn't too busy, as it was a Tuesday afternoon. Our server brought our drinks and soon after delivered two warm rolls. I decided on the Pollo Parmigiana ($13.95) and my Mom chose the Eggplant Parmigiana ($13.95). Our food arrived in less than 15-minutes. The pasta sauce was delicious and my chicken was very tender and flavorful. My only complaint is that the chicken and eggplant cutlets were on the small side; regardless, the meal was excellent. Dining here for lunch is a bit pricy when compared to alternative options; however, if spending $14 for a lunch item isn't a big deal, I recommend coming here and enjoying yourself.

The food and the service are outstanding! Great pizza in the little town of DeLand, FL! You have to come check them out!

We live locally and made a number of comments about stopping in to try the place. So, while walking back to our car we stopped and ordered to go!Pizza and the garlic knots...What stood out the most was the dough! Soft, not over salted. You could tell it was made fresh! The ingredients were seasoned moderately making the entire pizza just enjoyable. Nothing worse than a pizza that arrives full of over-spiced toppings, salty etc. Not here!Overall, I would say that the inside decor may need a bit of upgrading but the food was excellent! We met the owners and the family. They were hard working, attended to the details of each order we observed. They showed they cared about the family owned business!We will make this a regular stop!

We had chicken parm. & and an eggplant tower appetizer. Delizioso!! My husband's only complaint is that the entree was kind of small for a good meal. It felt like a lunch portion.

Stoped for lunch and had Penne Calabria. Delicious and great service!! Good wine! Real Italian food. We wil be back!
