Inside of the empanada - the crust was thicker and more mealy than empanadas I've had before but so very good!
Beef empanada and a tasty crème dressing

these pastries are an amazing deal for $1.50 to $2.50 each. They are huge and make a great snack. They also keep very good in the refrigerator. I have not enjoyed guava in the past but this guava and cheese in the sweetened bread dough was amazing. Actually all three flavors were amazing. Definitely try this place out if you're in the area.

I was driving by last month and decided to add it to my list of places to try. I was in the area again and so glad I stopped by! The owner and his niece are very nice, friendly, attentive and more than happy to answer any questions and make suggestions. They take pride on their goods and they sure deliver! They have various types of Venezuelan bread, tequeños, empanadas, cake slices, flan slices, coffee, sodas, cheese and some common bread types like French and sandwich bread. I had never had tequeños before and they sure were delish! I got the regular one with a nice garlic sauce to dip in and a sweet one that had guava in it, both were delicious! I got 2 piñita breads, since I like the hint of sweetness, softness that you experience as you eat it. It is dusted with some sugar and top and delish! It sure was a good find and I will definitely be back to try some more!

Happened upon this little place on day while waiting for the dentist. They are kind of hidden in the back of this plaza but worth the little walk we made. The sweet lady at the counter spoke making Spanish, and well I speak mostly English but she was so patient and kind and didn't make me feel like an idiot for mispronouncing items or just pointing. We tried two empanadas: one fish and one beef and they were both very good. The crust was corn meal I believe which was different than I'm used to but it was tasty and had a good crunch.
