I ordered some breakfast items not knowing anything about them. I thought 8.99 for a breakfast croissant was a little high until I got it. It was well worth it. Very large croissant filled with egg sausage and cheese and bacon on the side. Delicious. I ordered two for myself thinking they would be smaller. I was so full. My kids had the french toast sticks that tasted great also.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, P and J Southern Takeout is currently the only quick service option available at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. At the time of my visit, it was open fairly late for walk up orders for those seeking a bite to eat later in the evening. Mobile order through the My Disney Experience (MDE) app was also available, but only up until an hour before the official closing time of the establishment. Seats were available for patrons to dine inside and right outside. However, since P and J is located on the Fort Wilderness Resort, there are several picnic/outdoor areas throughout the property for diners to take their food on the go to enjoy. Located on the end of the property that is closest to the Seven Seas Lagoon, P and J Southern Takeout can easily be accessed by resort/campground guests through the internal bus system, golf cart (there's parking right outside the establishment), or by walking (though it may be a long walk depending on where your lodging is situated). Guests not staying at Fort Wilderness could probably stop by P and J Southern Takeout, especially those coming from Magic Kingdom by the resort/campground's private boat. The drop off is a very short walk from the boat dock and no one was verifying whether one was a guest of Fort Wilderness or not. My hubby and I ordered dinner at P and J Southern Takeout to try the food on the resort, and it definitely didn't disappoint. We went for what seemed to be their specialized items - BBQ Ribs and Fried Chicken meal (though they do have much more on the menu that align with the typical WDW quick service offerings). For a quick service meal and for the price, our food was fantastic! This could have easily passed for some of the more expensive table service choices at the parks, specifically at Magic Kingdom. Both the ribs and chicken were tender and juicy. The fried chicken was crispy and not oily and the BBQ ribs coupled with the BBQ sauce were absolute perfection. The sides were overly generous in size. We tried the Mashed Potatoes with gravy (delicious!), Cowboy Beans (my favorite out of all of the sides we selected and complemented the rest of the meal perfectly), and Mac & Cheese. The cornbread was also phenomenal. It was my on the go breakfast for the next two days. We were happy to take our food back to our cabin and have leftovers to munch on throughout the rest of our stay.We ordered through mobile order on the MDE app and our order was promptly ready at the time specified. Cast Members at P and J Southern Takeout were friendly and welcoming. Overall good experience. We would definitely make it a point to dine with them again when on property (or visiting Magic Kingdom and looking for a break from the park).

Food: 4/5, Honestly, I thought this place would have the same quality has a fast food restaurant. Oh, how I was wrong. The chicken/rib dinner had a loaf of cornbread, prices of meat that could serve about 3 people, and a TON of BBQ sauce. The cornbread was great, the meat was nothing special, but good. The BBQ sauce was awesome, but strong. I got the pulled pork sandwich as well, and it was really good. I probably would have said it was the best if they actually put coleslaw on it. They put maybe 10 pieces of coleslaw on. Really? They give you the BBQ sauce on the side so if you want a little or a lot on you can decide. The fries on the side were your average fries, nothing special about them at all. Service: 4/5, We made a mobile order and said it would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. I went to grab the food 10 minutes later and was said our order was 2nd in line. I waited for about another 15 minutes, grabbed my order once it was done, and left. The lady that was helping me was nice and helpful. When I got there she moved my order to the front instead of 2nd. Location: 4/5, The location is in the main part of the shops in Fort Wilderness Campsite, which is convenient if you want to grab a souvenir quickly or maybe a drink. COVID-19 Actions: 4/5, While I was waiting, I noticed everyone was doing their best to social distance and wear masks unless they were sat down. The servers were not wearing gloves however. Overall: 16/20, I really underestimated this place, recommend!

During our stay at Disney's Fort wilderness, we sort of relied on this restaurant more than I wish we had. The convenience that it is on the campgrounds is the benefit, and if your starving they have decent extended hours. If you have the app, it's most convenient to order online. Our first experience with breakfast was awful. The lady at the register was so sweet but their computer systems weren't working so the manager had to come out and reboot the register. They do have some seating inside, but it is limited due to Covid. The bounty breakfast is Served with Eggs, French Toast Sticks, Bacon, Sausage, Potato Barrels, and a Biscuit. The eggs were runny the bacon was extremely thin, the potato barrels were tater tots (can't mess those up) and the French toast sticks are doused in sugar. The next day, we gambled here for breakfast again (we didn't prep our camper for breakfast meals). This time we ordered the Mickey waffles that came with either sausage or bacon. This was a much better option, but unfortunately they placed our order in the wrong window and someone took our food so we had to re-wait again for our food ... frustrating. For a Disney restaurant they do not have it together.

This is a very underestimated Disney quick service restaurant in our opinion. We've stayed at the campground at least once a year for going on 6 years now and P&J's is our go-to for breakfast and even sometimes dinner if we don't feel like cooking at our site. Our only complaint with breakfast is they serve scrambled eggs with the bounty platter but it's not an option in and of itself, even as a side option. Their portions are great for the price so it is definitely of value. And the food is DELISH! We all have our favorites. My son and I LOVE their brown sugar oatmeal and you get quite a bit for the price as a "side." I can never finish mine. Our younger son and my father always go with the bounty platter, especially for the eggs. And my husband quite literally talks about their biscuits and gravy ALL THE TIME. Even to the point of joking about taking the 2 hour drive to the campground for breakfast cause he is craving it after we go home. The resort refillable mugs are very much worth their price as well. We get one for each party member and within just the week of morning coffee refills, dinner drinks, and sometimes just because in between we absolutely get our monies worth. The pulled pork sandwich is amazing and the fried chicken is some of the best in the Disney World resorts IMO. Desserts are sweet but oh man. You can go wrong with the strawberry shortcake but if the Pineapple Upside Down push pop is there TRY IT! I was in Heaven!!! I literally squealed with joy when I saw it was back again this year. For coffee drinkers, the Gold Rush iced coffee (pictured) is to die for and my husband LOVES the Wilderness bark option (he drank it before I could snap a pic lol)If you're using the MDE app to mobile order it makes it so quick and effortless. We would always place our order from our site (almost always in the 1600 loop near the front of the campground), click I'm here as we jump in the golf cart, and by the time we got to the restaurant (at the back of the campground) it is usually just coming out as ready (the most we've waited is less than 5 minutes.) Then we enjoy our food on one of the many picnic table options just outside or on occasion even inside if Trails End is not open at that time, and sometimes even taking it back to enjoy at our site. Even if you want to just drive over to the Fort or pop over from the Magic Kingdom bus I definitely suggest giving it a try at least once. It is definitely worth it!!

Best fried chicken I've had in a long time. That said, that "long time" ago was the last time I was down south, so ... I do wish they gave three pieces of chicken instead of two. And maybe some white meat, since not everyone likes dark meat chicken (my sister). Personally, I say too bad, white meat chicken has little flavor, but still. My dad fell in love with their salad w/ chicken and dried fruit, and we liked the cornbread, but again, we're Yankees, so take that FWIW.We didn't dislike anything we ordered, but I knew better than to order ribs. It's a commissary kitchen, guys - "takeout" is in the name, do not expect Bib Gourmand food here, heard?Food 4/5, plus one star for the convenience, and being so very close to that bar window

Chicken (4 piece), 1/2 slab of ribs, 2 sides and cornbread was $24.99 (feeds 2-4 people). Chicken, ribs and mac-n-cheese was good. Cowboy beans were below average. You can take it to go, or eat inside of Trails End.

While staying at Fort Wilderness for a week, we had 2 occasions where we needed to grab dinner quickly, and P & Js is any easy choice. We were quite surprised by how good the food turned out to be. They only do takeout right now, but you can get your order and still sit at a table inside or out. The first night, my wife tried a salad with chicken, and I had the bacon cheeseburger. Her salad was good, and I was surprised by how good the cheeseburger was. On the second try, we both ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was very good, nice smoky taste, the mac n cheese was good, the fries average, and the cowboy beans, not so good. Still, it's an easy way to catch dinner onsite, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable (for Disney!). We would definitely do it again for the quality and convenience.

First of all, it is Disney on Disney property. That in itself sets the screen. If you are starved and spent the day running around The Magic Kingdom. P&J looks pretty good and it is. Straight forward you get what you order and it taste good for take out. If you are familiar with Disney cardboard pizza that is no longer how it is done. With only two styles of Pizza, with and without pepperoni. Your choice is limited. You will get a Pizza that taste better than all those names of TV Pizza. Fort Wilderness Pizza is worth the price. It taste great and is made with a thin crust. Not to thin not to not thin. After all is said and done the Strawberry Shortcake is a nice way to end your day. Magical Moments.....

I shared the family sized meal that included a rack of ribs, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The ribs were painfully average but, the meal over all was fine. For how much I paid I would've expected more.
