Olde Dixie Fried Chicken

While their brick and mortar location has been closed for quite some time, Olde Dixie Fried Chicken lives on as a food truck that still serves up the same delicious fried chicken I came to love from the original spot. They post updates on social media and on their website to announce where the truck will be heading next. Today my boyfriend surprised me by bringing me some of my favorite chicken for lunch. I had a two piece meal with a breast, a wing, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and a roll. He also picked up a fried Mac and cheese ball. We shared this delicious bounty of fried goodness and it was so worth the indulgence! The chicken is juicy and crispy and has a great flavor. The mashed potatoes are creamy with a tasty gravy. The fried mac and cheese ball wasn't my favorite, but still pretty good. The chicken is of course the star of the show and was just as good as I remember. If you go, be prepared to wait a while (my sweet bf waited for 45 mins!) and come early because they do start selling out during lunchtime hours. All of the staff were friendly though and people don't seem to mind the wait; they are just excited to partake in this yummy chicken like I was!

I caught them at Ala Carte. Apple Fritters was a rare treat and they were wonderful. They are not quick but nothing unreasonable. The food will certainly be worth your wait. Crispy Chicken that is juicy and very flavorful.Their "box of fries" seemed to be a popular item. I sampled one and it was good but I much prefer the Chicken and fritters!

So missed the fixed location on S. Orange Ave but we've been given a reprieve; The Saturday food truck. A truly unique fried chicken and fries. The white meat is always tender and crispy with a satisfying and salty texture. And the fries and slaw make it the best hangover food ever. The employees are usually local girls with a hard working, southern attitude. They are the southern version of New York's Soup nazi. But more likable. Better than any of the corporate fried chicken chains. Be warned, You will dream about this chicken.

Amazing amazing amazing!! We waited about 20 minutes for our food today but let me tell you it was soooooo worth it!!!!!! People other than employees were at this truck today. They have a following which is always a good sign. I had the nuggets with fries and my hubby the 2 piece chicken (breast) and wing with fries and we shared corn fritters. I was not prepared for the awesomeness packaged within the styrofoam containers. The nuggets were crispy and moist inside and packed full of flavor. The fries were cooked to perfection. And surprisingly the wax paper underneath it all was NOT saturated in oil!! Always a good. The corn fritters were also very tasty. I hope this food truck comes back again. You must try if you haven't.

I grew up on the fried chicken they used to make at their restaurant in Pine Castle until they closed their doors a few years ago, so I was delighted to see they had a food truck now. Their chicken is exactly like I remember it: Hot, crispy, and juicy. I am thrilled for them to again be a fixture in Orlando, and I will certainly be returning in the near future.

Best fried chicken ever!! Oh my goodness it's fantastic. I tried Olde Dixie at A La Carte in Orlando, and really hope they come back soon. The fried chicken was so crispy and delicious, and the nuggets were the best nuggets I've ever had! The owners were really kind too. Can't wait to go back!

Seriously folks it doesn't get any better than this, fried chicken, cole slaw, the best gizzards anywhere. Get there early, but it is well worth the wait. They are now working out of a food truck, so you will have to check on FB or call them to find out where they are and their hours. Best of the best

I was so excited when I saw this food truck was going to be at Celebration's Food Truck Friday event. My excitement turned to disappointment when I started eating. The hot chicken wings were super hot. So hot that I did not feel like I was eating chicken. Anyway, I also prefer my chicken wings breaded. These were not. The cole slaw was ok, but the baked beans tasted like they came straight out of a can! The honey mustard chicken nuggets were dry and gross. Again, not breaded. They were simply fried pieces of white meat chicken with sauce on them. The best thing I had was the corn nuggets which were super sweet!!!! I would not waste my money going back to this food truck.

The best fried chicken! Staff is always friendly and food is always delicious. Have been eating it for 15 years and it is always a treat

Best fried chicken anywhere! Never been disappointed. Juicy, succulent chicken in a crispy crust - just so yummy.
