Delicious breakfast, friendly service, and nice ambiance. All the breads we ordered were very fresh and delicious. We asked for the Pandebonos to be warmed and they were so good. I had the breakfast croissant with avocado and it was also delicious. Jasmine had the regular breakfast croissant with ham.My croissant came with grape tomatoes which I picked out and ate separately as I wanted to taste only the softness of the croissant with the creaminess of the avocado -- totally a personal preference. I had the Americano coffee, which was a medium roast, and it was okay, however, a dark roast option would have been nice.Our food was promptly served and the order was accurate. The staff were helpful, courteous and bilingual. Lastly, we arrived shortly after 8am and there was ample parking and seating.Overall great experience! Can't wait to come back and try some desserts.

I liked everything that I got: chicken arepas, chicken empanadas, tequenos, chicken pastries, cheese pastries, and an apple turnover. There were some things I wanted but it would have added a 20 minute wait time so I decided to pass on those since this place seemed more like a quick serve situation and I came here not expecting a longer wait. The one and only negative for me was that when I entered I went to the area that said Order Here and I grabbed a menu to look at while I waited, and I guess there may be no line because the next person that came in after me just went past me, spoke to someone at the counter in Spanish, and got helped right away. That was frustrating but I would return and hope that was just a random occurrence and not the norm.

Mecatos is a Colombian bakery and cafe where you can grab coffee, meals, and a variety of sweet treats. It's a great place to go for your afternoon coffee if you work downtown. I recommend grabbing a pan de bono as it pairs well with coffee.

Blown away by this bakery and cafe! Went on a lazy Sunday morning and had the best time enjoying an array of amazing foods. We started with a pan de bono, a bunuelo, and two empanadas (chicken and beef). Never had a bunuelo before and it was really fun and yummy. The chicken empanada was my favorite, the meat was seasoned really well, although the beef was an amazing tender shredded beef it just needed sauce! From the bakery case we had a quesito and a slice of the caramel coconut pie. The quesito was the best I've ever had. The whole thing had a great distribution of cream cheese and the pastry had a perfect crunchy glaze outside that subtly sweetened every bite. The caramel coconut pie was out of this world though!! It tasted like heaven and vacation at the same time, highly recommend! At this point we were filling up but we had ordered the burger to share and it was incredible! The beef was so tender and flavorful, and all the toppings and sauces elevated the whole thing. So unique with pineapple on the burger giving it a sweetness. For drinks we had the blackberry hit juice which tasted just like a lollipop, and a caramel hazelnut iced latte. That being said, all of these amazing foods and our total was only $40!!! I was blown away but the quality and pricing. The inside cafe has lots of seating and was clean and comfortable. They have a really cute side patio that looks over a lake but it was a little too warm when we went. I can image going for an afternoon coffee and treat and enjoying a book out there! The plaza parking is limited, although connected to a larger plaza you'd have to park pretty far away if the immediate parking was full. On a Sunday mid morning parking was fine, but I've been to the same plaza in the evening and it was impossible to park. Worth mentioning since they're open until 8 pm!

Stopped here randomly before work one afternoon ... cute cozy space located just before moss park. There were three people in front of me but it took roughly 20 minutes to order. I don't know why . That was a bit annoying and unexpected. Gave me plenty of time to review the menu and not overindulge since I was starting to get hungry. They have 10 combo deals. I ordered 4 empanadas with a drink which was their combo special for $11.50 before tax. Two beef one chicken and one cheese. Surprisingly I loved the cheese one the most since the dough was on the sweeter side versus the savory. These bad boys are filling and stuffed very well. I was pretty full after two. I'll come back again and hopefully service will be a bit faster.

I came here with a group of ladies for breakfast. I had the breakfast sandwich. It is counter service and was very quick. We all enjoyed our food and would return. The coffees were also excellent.

Mecatos has a great selection of food options, including some delicious sugary sweets. My fave was a tie between the chicken & steak empanadas. The meat was tender and flavored well, not spicy. I'll definitely be stopping by & trying more options soon!
