Mecatos Bakery & Café

I tried Mecatos for the first time and had an amazing experience! I ordered the Pandebono, Cafe con leche and a Colombian hot dog and enjoyed everything I got. The interior is also beautiful with a lot of seating options inside. The pandebono was delicious and paired well with the cafe con leche. The cafe con leche doesn't come with sugar so make sure to ask for it if you want it added. They also have sugar and utensils available to the side if you want to add it yourself!It was my first time trying a Colombian hot dog and I was pleasantly surprised with how well the flavor combinations worked together. The sweetness from the pineapple balances out the salty toppings. Overall amazing food options with great/quick service!

I had a great first experience at Mecatos! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted, and the customer service was nice. The staff was very patient with me as I explored the menu, offering great recommendations that made my decision much easier.The wait time was minimal, but I really appreciated that they made my croissant fresh upon ordering. Wanting to get a good feel for the bakery, I tried a few different items, including an iced caramel coffee. While I'm not the biggest coffee drinker, I quickly realized this was a very strong coffee--so if you prefer milder drinks, I'd suggest trying one of their smoothies or other beverage options instead.Beyond drinks, they offer a variety of sweet treats, empanadas, and sandwiches, ensuring there's something for everyone. The ambience of the bakery was also a highlight--the space is cute, quaint, and beautifully designed, making it a cozy spot to enjoy whatever your heart desires.I'm excited to go back and try more! It's great to have a quality bakery in Apopka, especially since the area doesn't have a ton of options. This place is definitely a welcome addition to the community!

I've heard good things about Mecato's before and I was excited to see one coming toApopka. The location has lots of parking, trendy décor with medium dark wood and exposed Edison bulb lights, and plenty of staff to ensure that you're served quickly. My husband ordered the chorizo arepa and I got the mix and match 4 item combination. The arepa was a good size and was flavorful. I got a cheese, chicken, and beef empanada and a fried cheese ball. We used the green garlic sauce, which had a great taste and came in a big bottle, so we didn't have to skimp on using it. The cheese empanada had a different crust than the other two which was sweet. I didn't care for it much. The beef empanada was my favorite, but is was just okay. I've had way better empanadas at other places. The fried cheese bread was pleasantly warm and crispy, but not overly flavorful. We got the chocolate cake for dessert and it was definitely the star of the meal for both my husband and I. I would try some more desserts, but the meal options weren't worth it to me.Rating from F to A+++, I give it a B-.

I do love how close and convenient this location is to my house! The only thing that was frustrating was no forks I only saw spoons and napkins so had to ask the girls at the counter and the table was dirty but other than that everything else was fine! We got the arepas, empanadas, tres leches and lattes and everything was delicious! The parking lot had a lot of parking spaces which was good and I like how inside is spacious with lots of seating areas with outlets to charge your devices if you wanted to!

I'm excited to see Mecato's Bakery & Cafe open in our corner of Apopka! This vibrant addition is just what the neighborhood needed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere and the delightful aroma of baked goods and coffee. The dining area is large and features traditional tables, small booths for two, and some cozy seating options.I ordered the arepa with chorizo, and it was fantastic. Next time, I will try their coffee because it smelled like heaven when I was there!Service was excellent, and everyone behind the counter was friendly. Mecatos didn't get five stars from me because they forgot something from our order, and we only discovered this once we got home. It was only their second day open, so I understand they are still working out kinks and training staff. Overall, Mecato's is a fantastic addition to our community. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu. Whether looking for a delicious meal or a sweet treat, this place will surely become a favorite spot for many in Apopka!

Gosh I was so excited for this place to open and it did not disappoint. Everything I've tried has been delicious. My favorites are the sausages and empanadas. Their smoothies are delicious as well. Service is great. The staff is super friendly and always have big smiles on their face. My only complaint is that their coffee seems to take a longer time to come out then anything else, however I know the staff is all new so I'm sure they will get faster at it over time. I love that they play Colombian music and the decor is super cute. It's a brand new building in a new shopping center so it's very nicely decorated.
