Matthew's Steakhouse

Love everything about this place. Saw it on IG and needed that cheese platter.. Love the atmosphere. It's smaller and more intimate. I don't have to listen to a massive restaurant packed full of people yelling over eachother. I believe it's by reservation only. Based on the available setting I would definitely make one..I went with a basic steak instead of my normal Filet mignon. I honestly wasn't expecting much from a every day Joe steak. But WOW!!!! I wasn't cutting off chunks of chewy fat that weren't edible wasting steak. The entire steak was consumed and I even finished off my wifes. It's the next day and I'm still thinking about their food it was that good. I saw complaints It's new owners. Ignore those. This was my first time here, but the new owners are awesome. The owner Chystal came over to talk with us to see how we liked the food.That turned into a friendly 10 minute conversation that went from food to travel talk lol. I saw complaints you have to pay extra for add ons like asparagus. Ignore those too. Come on people. This place literally has $$$$ for the price. If money is a issue and you want a steak, hit up outback. If you want intimate dinning for a special date night. Come here...On a last note. I only had 2 steaks that are my favorite. 1 is near a snowboard resort in CO, the other a place in winter park. I'm glad to have found a steak place that I can add to the top of my list and now have 3 favorites.

Came across this gem on instagram and decided to book a reservation. Nestled in Winter Garden's downtown area, decorated so nicely this time of year with Christmas lights. Once we steeped inside the restaurant, it was so elegant, and dimly lit. If anyone knows why restaurants do this, it's to set a mood and tone down your other senses so you can taste your food better . ;) I ordered the 18 oz steak and split it with the hubs, and it comes with a complimentary baked potato and you can order your sides a la carte. We got broccoli. Our waitress, Sarah was so friendly and helpful. We definitely will be back!

Apparently this steakhouse has new ownership and if you haven't been in a while, its definitely worth the visit. Run by a super sweet husband and wife duo, this steakhouse is a new favorite. The wife came by all the tables to greet everyone and make sure everyone was doing well - I loved this personal touch. Sometimes they have love music but otherwise its generally quiet. Great wine selection. Tender meats seasoned to perfection. OH, and don't forget the bread service - one of the best I've ever had. Stop by! You won't regret it!

If you're in the mood for a very fancy, overpriced steakhouse, you'll like it here. Steak is good but they only offer one side, would've liked mashed potatoes with my steak.

Everything was great! From the food to the service to the atmosphere! We will definitely be back soon!

Came here for a birthday celebration with my partner. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived (early dinner) but immediately the restaurant gave a regal ambiance. The service was incredibly warm and friendly, but they did not refill water quickly enough in my opinion. The steaks were great, but they were a bit too charred on the outside in some parts, while being slightly underdone in the center (ordered medium rare). I wish the restaurant offered something other than a baked potato as a side, but I'll admit, it is a good potato. The butters and sour cream on the side are a nice touch.

We had an exceptional experience at Matthews in downtown Winter Garden. If you are familiar with Winter Garden, it is an already beautiful place with a quaint downtown, and Matthews steakhouse embodies that personality within their restaurant. To start, yes it is on the pricier side but I think overall the quality justifies the price. We had a large table and overall the ordered food was primarily steak or scallops. However we also had the bread to start with which was great. The scallops were the best thing that we shared. A vibrant seasoning and taste and they were cooked perfectly, my only note would be that I wish the side broccoli wasn't big pieces. The steak was ordered medium rare but came out cooked more than that and was a bit inconsistent throughout. I think almost all of the steaks were slightly cooked for too long. However it was also well seasoned and had a good flavor and the potato and butter that came with it was extremely good. The wine list had a ton of variety and options from premiere locations all over the world and the French red that we had went quite nicely with our dishes. My only note for this place would be that if you do go, just make sure to get your steak cooked how you'd like. We had 2 steaks cooked a bit over done so we didn't want to request a fix but I would recommend checking it when they are brought out.Lastly to end on a positive note, the service was phenomenal. We were catered to our every question and need and the waiter was fun and had solid recommendations. I would strongly recommend trying this place out for your next fancy night out or if you are just really craving some quality meat or seafood!

My husband and I went this past weekend for our Valentine's dinner and it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The service was great, the ambience was romantic, and the food superb. That bread service is delicious and our steaks were cooked perfectly. I'd recommend Matthew's for a special occasion or even an ordinary night of the week! A+

This restaurant is dark and intimate with tables lit by flickering candles. It was so romantic for a date night celebration with my boo. He truly enjoyed the steak and finished his whole plate before we could remember to take pictures. The lollipop lamb chops are the perfect appetizer and so unique. I've never tried lamb in a red wine reduction like this and the chefs killed it with this recipe! The lamb was not too gamey and the meat tasted so high quality. The almalfi coast inspired grilled shrimp were so yummy with a nice smoky taste from the fire and a citrusy finish. The baked potato side is served with a luxurious whipped butter and normal butter as well as sour cream. I barely finished my potato and was stuffed. We still had enough to take home and enjoy later, everything was so filling and rich. I MUST recommend the Italian Prosecco "Giavi" it is so crisp and refreshing, we would have ordered a whole bottle if we had more people with us. Each dish is perfectly cooked and well made. The service was impeccable. Would certainly return for this fine dining experience whenever I'm in downtown winter garden.

We had some great steaks and paired with their selected wines which went perfectly. Their pear burrata appetizer was top notch as well.
