Growing up in Altamonte Springs, I had driven by Maison & Jardin too many times to count. I remember how upscale, exotic and enticing the European-style restaurant seemed tucked away behind lush trees and a long driveway entrance. As luck may have it, a friend of mine decided to have his wedding reception in one of the smaller private rooms. I was astounded by the beauty of the place. Seeing it up close was breath-taking. Archways, ornate decorations, elaborate flower decorations, over-sized windows that overlook lush landscaping including a small pond surrounded by statues. The overall atmosphere is perfect for any special occasion and it lends itself very well to beautifully composed photographs.Inside the lighting continued setting the perfect mood with dim lighting, low playing music and upscale table settings. Not idle for photo taking but great for setting the right mood. While absolutely beautiful and stunning, for all the luxury and European charm, I wasn't too thrilled with the food and the room the reception was held in was quite small. And I'm sure it all came with a hefty price-tag.

I first discovered Maison & Jarden when I attended my sororities founder's day brunch five years ago. Pulling up to the classical South France inspired building I was awed by it's simple beauty and gorgeous flowers found all over the property. It felt as if by entering it's gates you were transported to South France. I was able to go here again about a year ago for a wedding and I was still awed by this hidden gems beauty and architecture. The inside is just as beautiful, but it's not the over the top kind of beauty most are accustomed to. Instead, it is more of a classical, elegant beauty with oriental rugs, Austrian crystals and antique mirror frames from the 1970's throughout the entire place. There is also a Mediterranean inspired gazebo outside with hand painted tile walls overlooking a water fountain and gold fish pond. Aside from that, there is also a canvas roofed patio rooms which is perfect for an outdoor wedding because even if it rains you can still be outside...this is what happened at the wedding I went to there. Many years ago this was an upscale restaurant, but now it's open only for private parties like wedding receptions and organization functions. There are two different areas for dining and an area that is perfect for having a dance floor. The outside areas are gorgeous and great for taking pictures, especially for a wedding. However, the layouts of the rooms are not always conducive for what you want to do so it may be a good idea to scope the room out and have a plan before executing your idea. The food served is not the best I've ever experienced, but not bad either. I've had a few chicken and fish dishes here and I remember them both being flavorful and tasty. I'm not a fan of the mashed potatoes, but the vegetables were cooked to par and not soaked in butter, which is a good thing. The dessert is always the best part of a meal for me and their chocolate cake is delicious. The Maison & Jarden's staff are all very professional and good about staying on top of everything. For weddings, this is a very affordable place in comparison to the other options in and around town. The wedding I went to was considered small to medium and the room we were in was the perfect size. However, I'm not sure this place would suffice for a large wedding.Overall, I'm a fan!

Went here for their wedding/bridal expo. Great location for a wedding venue or a party venue. The location has old school charm and rustic accent pieces everywhere. Their bar and dance floor would be perfecr for a wedding and their outdoor courtyard is cozy but a nice setting for a garden wedding. They even offerred a discount on services booked for attending the expo.

M & J is a classy joint, but they do accept riff raffs from time to time... or so it seems!Cicely had her wedding reception here last night and we invaded the place with tattoos, flasks, and questionable intentions. Mosley wore a satin napkin as a karate headband. Mr. Greene thought someone would bang the wedding planner in the bathroom. We spoke of Rodney Dangerfield whilst we sucked down whiskey drinks six ways to sunset. Not sure how l made it to the gym this morning.... Okay, I should say something useful about the place. The service was nearly world class, and the food was commendable. For appetizers we had stuffed mushrooms, jumbo shrimp and puffed pastries with crab cake filling. All were excellent. For dinner we had a delightful salad with spring mix, "high-end" goat cheese, toasted walnuts and a raspberry vinaigrette that was perfectly balanced. My main course was a prime rib served with carrots, asparagus and mashed potatoes. I'd rate it slightly above a country club dinner, if you've ever had such a thing. The quality of service and the setting make this place shine. I wonder if we'll ever be invited back. Ha!

My husband and I had our wedding reception here shortly after after they renovated in 2015. We were the second wedding weekend after they reopened. It was gorgeous and the food was absolutely delicious. We had approximately 125 people at the reception and it felt roomy enough. We had the doors to the dance floor open during dinner giving it a very elegant feel. We chose Maison and Jardin because it is a unique venue and with a distinctive feel of celebration a milestone. I grew up in Central Florida and was living in Austin at the time. There are so many unique and beautiful venues there to host a reception, but we wanted to get married in Central Florida. This is the place to get married/host a reception. No extra charge for beautiful Golden chairs, cushions for those chairs, china, serving pieces, etc. The only thing I'm sorry about is that it took me five years to post this review. I'll upload pictures of the venue from my wedding later. Thank you Maison & Jardin for a beautiful night my husband and I will always remember.

Beautiful location! This location is truly a hidden gem. The outside looks like an old 1950's house, but once you walk inside you will be amazed. It used to be a restaurant years ago, but now it is mainly for corporate events and weddings. The landscape is perfected and ideal for a wedding ceremony. Statues, fountains and wooden bridges are part of the unique setting outside.Inside is a whole other story! Etched glass walls, granite and marble doors and walls, gold crown molding, large framed mirrors, huge wine cellar (one of the top in the country!) and fabulous decor. They even offer their own gold chiavari chairs in their wedding packages!Brittany is an absolute doll and knows the location like the back of her hand. Her family has run the location for 30+ years and she has been there since she was 16.This is definitely an amazing spot for any event. They can accommodate up to 200-250 guests (maybe more...just ask Brittany).

I was invited to a bridal shower for my future sister in law and told to wear my favorite hat. I arrived and was warmly welcomed by the hostess of what I found out was an afternoon tea. We socialized while sipping on punch & mimosas. When we were ready to sit down to eat we had a large spread of food to choose from: chicken salad croissants, seafood salad croissants, sliced fruit & veggies, frittatas & more. The food was quite tasty for what could have been typical buffet food. While we watched our blushing bride open presents, we were served cake and each table was brought a little tier of petit fours. They were delicious and my table of young women were excited like little school girls when they showed up.I don't live in the area, so I don't know when I'll be back, but it is a great venue for a fun afternoon with the girls.

We had our wedding reception here in October 2022. Pros: - the venue is beautiful- the food wait staff were friendly and helpfulCons:- we found a snake in the venue while setting up and had to trap and release it outside ourselves- we were up sold on a bunch of tv/display screens ($1,000+) but they didn't function properly and ruined our grand entrance. They refused to refund us for this. We didn't even get much support for the set up of the screen. The tech they sent didn't speak English so we couldn't even communicate what the problems were to them. - The venue is grossly over priced ($18k+ for 5pm-11pm)- Josephine, the owner or operator of the business, was not communicative. We asked her to confirm things multiple times well before the reception and heard very little to nothing back so we had to hope she was going to deliver. She was rude and dismissive at times to my family members and wedding planner. - we ended up having to put together much of the decorations ourselves even though we paid for the staffingOverall, we did the best we could with what we had to enjoy our special night. But we would not recommend our experience to others - especially not for the price they asked of us.
