When we're in the mood for Spanish food, this is our go to. The food is delicious and hasn't had anything I didn't like.

There is so much room for improvement. The food is not fresh. It's like going to grandmas and having reheated leftovers but not as delicious as grandma. The guava and cheese pastries are hard as rocks and old my grandma and she's been dead for years. What I don't understand is why? If you don't sell them in a few days, mark it down and someone will buy it knowing they are older. Selling it as fresh is not good business. The alcapurria was a little better I got the one made with plátanos. It was greasy and the filling was flavorless. It looks good but it needs sazón. I have eaten previously here and had the chicken soup and it was average. The rices which I have tried the arroz con gandules and the white rice were both passable. The pork (pernil) was cooked fine but again no flavor. Todays snacks were $15 for two papa rellenas which were okay at best and 2 pastel the guava and 1 alcapurea de guineo. I tasted the items and threw them away. I didn't go back in and I didn't call. I am at work and I chose to go there for lunch for a myself and a friend. I shouldn't have to chase down a manager to tell them what they already know , that they are selling old food. I review a lot of places and try to always give the benefit of doubt. This place has like 20 different things to choose from for meals and it like a cafeteria. Quick service and nice staff. This was not my first time here and it as usual is very disappointing. I will given them a few month and check it out again

My goodness this food is so delicious! My parents live right behind this restaurant and talk about it all the time so it was on my list of places to try while visiting Florida. The restaurant is super clean, the staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. We ordered three plates and it was under for $40! If we were in NY this easily would've been close to $70. It was more than enough food for 5 people I would even say two more people could've shared from what we ordered. Hopefully we can try their $9.95 every day lunch deal before heading back to NY. Thank you Lechonera and since they didn't have a YELP account I added their business because this is just too good not to share!
