Las Patronas

Located at the corner of University and Dean, this charming spot is tucked away. Walking in there was music playing and I loved the bright colors inside. Our servers were friendly and welcoming. We went on Taco Tuesday where they have 4 options for $1 tacos! I tried both pork options (carnitas and cochinita). Both were amazing! The cochinita was marinated in orange juice (I'm not the biggest fan of orange juice) but the flavors were delicious! I also ordered the house margarita which was purple! I tried the supreme nachos and the guacamole and everything was amazing! I can't wait to go back!

We have always seen the good truck at the Citgo gas station at the corner of Hall Rd and Aloma Ave. but never had seen it open. This time we did and decided to go check it out. Daniela was nice, friendly, attentive and happy to answer any questions about the menu and their offerings. She told us that they open in the afternoon and all day Friday and Saturday. They also have $2 tacos on Tuesday. I love al pastor tacos and it has been very difficult to find the real deal. These were okay and they were missing flavor and a bit of salt.The Patronas Pirata plate was made from al pastor meat, cheese, onions, pineapple and came with rice and beans. The taste was good but missing more of a homemade flavor. The churros tasted very good, specially with the cajeta filling, but the dough was a bit undercooked. We may give them another try if we are around the area.

Amazing food! Everything I have tried has been delicious (Carne asada tacos, street corn, chips & salsa)A bit of a wait but come on... home made food. You have to wait but it will be worth it.

If you're looking for yummy cochinita pibil tacos, look no further! The rest of the taco meats and sides are not to be missed either; I had an elote today and eating it was like being back in Mexico! I love coming here during my lunch hour because they're fast without compromising on the quality. 10/10 in my books
