One of our favorites so we come here a lot. My favorite items to order are the mango margarita , cafe con leche, ropa vieja, and flan! Tonight we all order items to share ( minus the wine of course because yea... no! lol )Cuban sandwich was delicious per usual, tostones were full of flavor and my first time ordering the mofongo. Not my favorite but it was flavorful and a huge portion. My bestie is Cuban and she enjoyed it more than me so that's a big plus . Love this traditional Cuban decor through out the restaurant. It's a nice chill place and service is good.

Came here with my family that was visiting from out of town. We planned on stopping to eat here and then explore the rest of mt Dora. What was suppose to be a quick bite to eat, turned into a 3 HOUR long lunch because the service and food took so long and it wasn't even busy. Once we finally got our food, half of it was cold and tasteless. After talking to the waitress about how disappointed we were, she told me she completely understood and would get her manager to take some of our food off our check. She came back and told us that her manager wouldn't come talk to us and told us to just not tip her, our server. I was a server before so I would never do that but ???We all felt super disrespected and were really upset about the whole ordeal. To top it off, the bathrooms are really uncomfortable with nothing but a short wall in between the two stalls. I normally wouldn't complain or write reviews but our experience was absolutely awful.

The food was just okay. My favorite was the red bean soup. The Patel's I sent it back to the kitchen. It was not to my liking. Perhaps someone else will find them delicious. I also ordered the ox tails to go. They were delicious. I tried the chicken also which was tasty. My piña colada was delicious as well.

Amazing Cuban food. Mount Dora is blessed with a place like this that makes excellent Cuban sandwiches and sandwiches from the Caribbean. The ambience is extremely attractive with all kinds of memorabilia of Cuba before Castro. If you come here, ask for Camilo to serve you. The decor they have in this restaurant is unique with all their chairs having been carved wood by a craftsman. What a wonderful experience both Julie and Camilo gave us. If you are in Mount Dora at any time you must come to Las Palmas Restaurant.

I really don't like having to leave less than 4 stars but unfortunately this was just an average restaurant in a day filled with so much good food and drinks. A couple of our friends had been there for their sangria one time before and suggested we stop by and get some. I was super excited because I really love sangria. We decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful day out. The server came out and took our order which was pretty simple.. 2 Cuban sandwiches, a tamale, an order of mariquitas ( fried plantain chips usually served with a garlic sauce) 4 sangrias, a mojito and 2 beers. 15 minutes later the sangrias and tamale came out. After another 15 minutes the sandwiches and mariquitas came out. So basically after 30 minutes, we were still missing the beer and a Mojito. When we were able to flag down our server first she said that bar was very busy then after yet another 15 minutes she told us that they were having problems with the Internet. So after 45 minutes there 3 of us still didn't have our drinks. One of my friends went to tell them to just cancel the three remaining drinks and bring us our check and miraculously our drinks and check appeared within minutes. Being from South Florida I knew really good Cuban food, and the sandwiches were anything but good. The bread was hard and there was no pork on the sandwich. The garlic sauce that was served with the mariquitas seemed like it was just mayonnaise with chunks of garlic. It really was inedible. The only redeeming thing was the sangria which was delicious. I would've loved another couple of glasses of it, but at that point, we were just ready to cut our losses and continue on our way. I don't recommend this place for anything other than the sangria.

Beautiful Authentic looking Cuban Restaurant with high prices for mediocre food. Other than the delicious cafe con leche, dining here was an unmitigated disaster as we left with both empty stomachs and empty wallets. The chicken soup had a reasonably good base taste but the uneven temperature, as if it was freshly microwaved, kept us from enjoying it.The presentation of the Havanas Tapas was downright frightening, think school lunches, see picture, and unfortunately the taste was even worse, because the tostones underneath were not freshly cooked so they took on foreign flavors.Unfortunately, even my child left hungry as the grilled cheese was made with such poor quality cheese that it hardened, think rock like, before he could eat it.The easiest question of the night was if we wanted a box for all of the food we didn't eat. Of course the answer was no, perhaps instead, they should have asked if we wanted a seasick bag.

Stopped here for drinks after having lunch down the hill. Sat at the bar and was served immediately. We ordered two 24oz of Heineken on draft. $10 for one 24oz is definitely worth it. The restaurant also smells amazing! We're going to dine in next time!

This restaurant is a must if you're in Mt. Dora and want to try something different, new and really good, I had the Cuban Sampler and everything was pretty authentic and delicious, I also had a delicious Mojito, and of course my Cuban Cafecito. Loved the decoration, and we had a great waiter, Camilo was his name and to top it off the prices were pretty good... I will definitely revisit when I'm in town.
