The food was good. This is our first time, one too many people in the restaurant, but the service was good. The lady explained everything about it and then they had a person play in the violin while we're eating dinner so the ambience was awesome. I would recommend this restaurant, I had the red snapper. My wife had that Mofongo chicken.

Finding a place nearby that has good puertorican food has been so difficult. I'm so glad we decided to try Las Casitas! The bifongo was a great balance of green and yellow plantains. The garlic sauce was the perfect compliment to the mofongo, I didn't even need to ask for mayo ketchup. The ambiance is so modern but also got that Puerto Rico feeling. Our server was super attentive and we cannot wait to be back to try more from the menu.

Over the summer my sister took me out to lunch and we discovered this gem in Avalon Park. While the place is relatively small, they offer quite a Puerto Rican menu. The service was a bit too casual for the prices, but I attributed it to the newness of the place; that will not stop me from visiting again. We ordered a few finger foods as appetizers and they were amazing. The pastelillos and sorullitos were excellent. Their food is well seasoned- I had their mofongo relleno con carne frita. Their portions are generous, but some of their fares are slightly overpriced in my opinion. My sister ordered chicken with rice and beans. She loved it. The orders came out at the right temperature, and well garnished and plated. The ambiance is casual, bright and modern. I'll be back soon with my husband and compare visits now that they've been in business a little bit longer. So here we are again, trying Las Casitas a second time. Update: My husband and I are starting with the sorullitos de maíz- a cigar shaped cornmeal fritter that comes with a side of "mayo- ketchup". The fritters were tasty, but dry and hollow, maybe fried in too high a heat. The pastelillo had a nicely seasoned ground beef filling, but I did not like the dough. It was dry, overcooked; not flaky and light as it is traditionally. For the main course, I ordered the mofongo relleno de pollo. Every dish comes with a side salad dressed with a delicate honey vinaigrette, this was nice. My chicken, unfortunately, was overly salty (inedible); I ordered it with chimichurri on the side, which is, as you know, supposed to be nicely seasoned, so the combination was impossible. My chicken was so salty I had to skip it altogether. The mofongo was seasoned well, a bit under, so it could hold the sauce. It was more of a whipped, creamy consistency than the typical mash; it had no crunchy bits or different textures to it. I'm not calling it mofongo. My husband ordered the grilled chicken with tostones. His chicken was seasoned and "grilled" well. The tostones were crunchy on the outside and soft in the center- he loved his main course! We did not order a dessert. This restaurant is small, but offers a wine bar, high tops as well as self standing tables, no booths. Their decoration is tasteful, tidy and modern. They are located in a plaza so they have ample parking space. They keep the place clean and tidy. Their service is casual and friendly. The ambiance is modern, family oriented.Overall, I think they have redeeming qualities, however they're leaving behind the iconic rusticity of the Puerto Rican cuisine. In contrast to my first visit, I found the service much improved, but the kitchen marked significantly lower. It did not meet my expectations

The mofongo was delicious the octopus was very tender. The service was okay, but it could have been better since I was the only one there. The ambiance was okay nothing to spectacular. I say give them a try if you are in the area.

This was a cute little restaurant. Very clean with friendly staff. The appetizer we ordered was delish, a chicken pastelillo. The mofongo was very good along with the sauces, the steak however was not. Very chewy and lacking flavor. Also, I wish they had bottled water because their water had a bad taste, not sure if it was the cup or the actual water.

We keep coming back here and our experience continues to be the same, excellent!! The food quality is of high standards and the taste is always fresh and delicious. We finally made room to try desert and we ordered the highly recommended Tres Leches that our friends had raved about before and it did not disappoint!! We will keep coming back!

WOW!!! Amazing!!! Literally everything we had was GREAT!!!. Just became my favorite restaurant in Orlando. The Mofongo with the Creamy Garlic Sauce,, mind numbingly good. My wife had the mofongo with the shrimp and she absolutely loved it. My daughters and I shared a skirt steak, which was simply delicious (juicy). Add on sweet plantains, pina-colada and rice & beans. Everything was Spectacular! Samantha, our waitress, was so friendly, knowledgeable, and had great attention to detail. Ask for her if you can!!! I may move down to Orlando, just so I can have Las Casitas whenever I want to. Ok that is a joke but the rest was not. Try Las Casitas and you'll thank me later!!!

To start the alcapurrias were delicious. They were hot and fresh out of the fryer. Then the mofongo was the best I've found in the Orlando area. The chimichuri sauce on the churrasco was ridiculously good. The portions were huge and fresh. Def recommend.
