The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful and it was great to see a place that embraces the value of service.La Fortuna Market is a small market on a somewhat deserted stretch of County Road 419. It is in a rather nondescript shopping plaza, but does offer the nearby residents a place to grab a quick something and not have to drive a bit further down the road to Publix. La Fortuna Market seems to have a more focus on Latin American items and they also have a bakery and a deli.Again, the staff is incredibly friendly, professional and helpful and La Fortuna Market is an oasis for a quick run to pick up a few items.

La Fortuna Market is the best little convenience store and deli in Oviedo east of the Econlockhatchee River! OMG Tacos Over the Border makes a one pound burrito that could be renamed the belly buster burrito, and it's delicious also! The service is great, the indoor seating is comfortable, and the refrigerated beverage case goes on forever!

I dont care what yall wanna call this place, a market, mini market, bakery, bodega, whatever, its absolutely delicious. I also apologize in advance for my 6 years of escuela de public espanol, im gonna try to use it anyway, please dont correct me cause im from the wrong Oviedo and i cant conjugate.Last night the wife and I stopped in at the LAST NAME ice cream spot, and decided to try out the La Fortuna Market next door as well since weve heard people rave about it. As we waddled in, all we planned on getting was some quesitos since theyre the Lords choice of both Hispanic breakfast and dessert. But to get to those, youve gotta pass the savory case.Yall i took home dos quesitos, tres empanadas, uno jamon y queso croissant, y uno papa rellena. I say "i" took it home but my wife ordered the croissant and one of the quesitos. When the guy behind the counter grabbed the papa rellena, the lady with him was like no no no, the bigger better one in the back and i really appreciated the gesture. They asked me if we wanted them warmed up now, and i said no, we would reheat them at home, and they was like cool, two minutes in the air fryer after the preheat. Then they asked if i would write them a review using the QR code they handed me, and i was like haaaaa yall dont even know, and joked that if it was terrible i wouldnt write one at all, which is a total lie, id write them a perfectly constructive negative review and wait for people to yell at me and call me names. The guy was like oh thank your sir but the lady told me if it was bad, to come back and she will give me better. Sold, thats primo customer service.Took em home and the wife destroyed her croissont so fast she didnt even care that they gave her a cachito and not a croissant. Happy accident though cause she was in love with it and was thankful. The bread was soft and had a slight chew, brushed with butter and having a slight sweetness. Oozy gooey cheese and salty thin ham. This was amazing.I wailed on the rest of the food for lunch today and holy crap these thangs were muy delicioso.Crispy perfection, the empanadas de carne were different than the Caribbean style im used to, they were a cornmeal based shell and more akin to a really thin arepa stuffed with some delicious carne, i think they might be a South American version. The better version in my opinion. Nice and tender meat, shredded with good flavor and diced up veggies, they were missing some moisture but thats ok, it was cold then reheated ill cut some slack. The cornmeal shell though may have been the star, even though it wasnt the soft but flakey shell typically known of empanadas, it was still soft yet crispy with the sweetness the cornmeal lends and worked really well with the savory meat. I think a nice creamy garlic sauce would be magical with this, kind of like what you get with tostones. The papa rellena was probably the star of the show, nice tender moistht meat, chunks of soft potato and veggies all mixed together into a delightful ball of deliciousness and then fried for a crispy shell. Absolutely amazing. The quesitos were the always delicious tube of crispy fried puff pasty dough filled with sweetened cream cheese and caramelized sugar on bottom. You cant go wrong, just get them. All of the comida we got was amazing, the service was out of this world and the delightful humans behind the counter were so kind. You could 100% tell everything here is the recipe of somebodys sweet abuela and Ill be coming back soon to try their coffee and get some breakfast to make mi gordo culo muy feliz.TL;DR Version: Muy delicious, vamanos vamanos!!! La Fortuna, te amo. -- at La Fortuna Mini Market.
