Never disappoints! Love the garlic knots, pasta Fagiola soup and chicken picata! The personal attention from the staff makes you feel like you're at grandmas house.

Hubby and I ate here for a date night. Thanks to Yelp reviews for letting us know this was a place to try! It's in an old house, nothing fancy, has a cute outdoor patio, though no one was on it when we were there, because it was chilly and wet that day. The staff was nice and busy with a lot of take-out orders. The food was delicious and you get a lot for the price. We got fluffy garlic knots. Mmm! Choice of soup or salad. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana and hubby got the Chicken Panzanella. We got a choice of pasta along with it. I saw pictures of the cheesecake so I left room for that. It was homemade and tasted like a pound cake on the edges and cheesecake in center. I was ok with this. However this delicious cheesecake should have not been served with a strawberry jelly from a can, it should have had a freshly made strawberry topping. We'll definitely be back.

I've been to La Famigila twice, once for our wedding anniversary and the second was with a larger group of friends. The service and food were excellent both times. On or first visit, our server was Christan and on the second it was Domonique; great job to you both. On both visits my Peroni's were icy cold ($5.50 each), which I definitely appreciate. Dinner includes a few pieces of ciabatta bread with extra virgin olive oil; a variety of olives and roasted garlic. On my first visit, I ordered the Trip to Italy with the Italian wedding soup option ($20.99). Both items were delicious. Nancy went with the Chicken Panzanella with the side of capellini and Bolognaise sauce ($25.99); the chicken had this nice crust, which was excellent. We also purchased the Tiramisu to share ($6.99), although it was good, it was oddly presented - scooped into a bowl versus cut from a larger cake; not terrible, but different. On the second visit Nancy ordered the same item, the Chicken Panzanella because it was so good last time. I went with the large Antipasto salad ($15.99). We also sampled some of our friend's dinner items along with the pizza. Everything was very good again this time around. No complaints with the food or service.Although I highly recommend La Famigila, I have to warn you of two things. First it can get expensive here. Both times Nancy and I came here our final bill was between $70-$75. So, if you're bringing the kids, bring extra money too! Also, this restaurant is right in the middle of the intersection of Sanford Ave and 13th Street, which happens to be a major intersection for emergency vehicles. On our second visit, there was at least 8-emergencies during our meal, and the sirens penetrate the restaurant, so yeah, there is always that. All-in-all, La Famigila has a great thing going and I hope they have continued success. I look forward to returning for more great food soon.

If your Italian, this is not it so save your time and money. Cute little place, love the atmosphere and service was good but the food was subpar. The Sicilian pizza was a big disappointment.

This is my second time having food from here. The first time we sat in the restaurant to eat, and it was a wonderful experience. This time we just ordered the food for pickup but it was still delicious. We had ordered the Eggplant Tower, Eggplant Rollatini (with marinara sauce), and Lasagna(with meat sauce). The food was amazing and ready fast. They have an amazing eggplant rollatini, definitely recommend.

We came here on a Monday evening in October 2023 with a group of 10 people. We were the only ones they're so that was good for us.All the food was served hot and fresh. They started off with fresh warm bread with garlic and basil dipping sauce. This was the second time my husband and I had been here.I ordered the same thing Chicken panzanella. Fried chicken cutlets with fresh tomatoes mozzarella basil and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. One of the chicken cutlets was cooked perfectly The other was very thin and dried out. But the flavor on this dish is amazing. The first time we got it both chicken cutlets were fine, plump not over fried very good. The only suggestion I have would be to serve any chicken dish with a steak knife. My girlfriend and I both had a chicken dinner and we're trying to cut our cutlets with a butter knife not easy to do. The only other issue I had is the salad. They put iceberg lettuce with big chunks in a small bowl very hard to eat. We had to cut it up with your butter knife. I ended up pouring mine out on a plate, chopping it up and eating it that way.My husband and I had the Italian beer Peroni, very crisp and tasty. We tried my friend's pizza and it was very good, full of flavor.Everyone at the table agreed that the food was really good. The prices here are on the higher side so it's not something that I would eat at weekly but would definitely come two or three times a year. This restaurant is located close to downtown Sanford parking is in the back. The restaurant is very small and intimate. Perfect place to have a small group come and you could actually hear what they were saying.I don't like loud restaurants. So if you're ever in Sanford Florida I want Italian come check this place out you won't be disappointed..

Sanfords hidden gem. Been eyeballing this place for sometime now. So thankful we stopped to give it a try. The food is definitely authentic and homemade the marinara is to die for love feeling you get when you arrive the service was impeccable. Definitely treat you like family. If I had one piece of advice, it would be to lower the lights and set more of a romantic ambience and maybe put on some Italian music on low because it definitely gives that romantic vibe in the evening if the lights were so bright, everything else was so good will definitely be back.

We were in the area and getting hungry and the kids wanted Italian. This seemed like a cute family spot. It was a small house converted to a restaurant and family owned. The seating was limited but that was expected non the less we were seated right away. The waiter was friendly and answered all our questions. The food came out slowly but we were in no hurry and relaxed and enjoyed the decor. The pricing was not bad but if you asked for anything but your beverage (the refillable allowed ones) there was an up charge. That would not have been a problem if when we ordered and specified heavy on the sauce or no sauce on one just butter & cheese please we were told that but we're not. Also after having eaten at many Italian places on the US and Europe I did not taste homemade Italian in our meals.

Business now Sanford Pizza and Pasta. if you are looking for a family restaurant, this place may not be for you. While waiting for our meal the piped in background music played a song where the lyrics used the "F*** you" no less than 10 times. As a Veteran, I am not immune to hearing nor using this phrase, but it is not something I want my family to hear as acceptable public speech. When I asked the waitstaff to turn it off, I was told that they couldn't turn the music off, but would change the song, which they did. This establishment needs to review its playlist or warn customers.Food and service was adequate, but not enough to override the. sour taste the ambiance left in my mouth. Probably won't return.
