This is a hidden gem! Don't be fooled by the restaurant being located within the gas station. It's Worth It!. Name of the gas station is Sam Service Station and King of Soul is inside. I came on a Sunday afternoon noon around 3pm and the food was nice and hot I purchased the ham, Mac n cheese, green beans, candy yams, yellow rice, and the peach cobbler!The ham is a must have! One of the best hams I've tasted in a while! The candy yams and Mac N Cheese were delicious! The peach cobbler!! Mannn was way too good! All this food put me in a sleep coma! Definitely check this place out if you're looking for some GOOD Soul Food!

Food is made fresh daily and it is made with care. You must go to the counter and make your selection (s). The staff is friendly and attentive to your food choices. The ambiance is not a typical restaurant. It is a grocery store with a corner section for hot food. It is also located by a BP gas station. The store is clean and the staff is helpful in suggesting for options. This is Soul Food to the core. LOVE IT!

If I could have left a 0, I would have done just that. The food is terrible and the portions are very small. I'm so mad I wasted my money on this. Never again.

I ordered 2 pork chops and received unrecognizable chicken parts that were unseasoned. This was disgusting and unprofessional. The food was gross

I started to give a 3 star review, but as I kept eating I was hearing this weird sound in my plate. I poked around & found this plastic wrapper from God knows what tucked under a turkey wing on top of my greens. Big yikes. Gave me the ick, & I was so thrown off that I couldn't finish the plate. I ordered from here off of UberEats because it was reasonably priced and I had been craving some soul food. I ordered turkey wings that came with 3 sides: Mac and cheese, collard greens, and yams. The food was nice and hot, but the flavors were a bit underwhelming. The mac was okay, the yams were a bit heavy on the cinnamon, and the greens were pretty good until i got to the plastic. The turkey wings themselves were dry & needed a bit more seasoning, but the gravy made up for it. The food (from what I pretty much got a sample of) was just ok. I'm most upset that I wasted $18 & about the random plastic that could be a sign of possible health violations going on at this spot. I wish I would've checked the reviews here first and saw that the place only has a 2-star rating. I won't be ordering from here again. I'm truly disappointed because I always try to support small/black owned businesses, but y'all need to tighten up!

Got food poisoning from this place. The male server also has an attitude most the time, if I want fried chicken it should be ready or if I want to wait for it to be made then what's your problem? This place has potential if it read the reviews it has already and made improvements. Me personally never ordering from here again.

I've tried this place twice. First time the collard greens were so salty it ruined the entire meal! This second time the food looked and tasted like it was leftovers reheated. My stomach hurts just trying the smothered turkey wings, cold Mac and cheese and left over/reheated greens! I would NEVER recommend this place to my worst enemy!

I ordered the fried pork chops with collard greens with Mac and cheese and Lima beans. I literally threw the food in the trash. The greens were disgusting and came out of a can. The Lima beans were sour. The Mac and cheese were ok and the pork chops were salty. I will never eat here again and do not recommend.

Idk what happened to this place but it was terrible last I went obviously the cook was changed that food went straight to the garbage.

collard greens wasn't fresh, macaroni tasted wierd ,Gravy reminded me of dog food ... Cabbage was decent yams were fresh Turkey wings were good .. I wouldn't recommend .This is my honest review
