Jonae's Island Twist

I ordered pickup: jerk chicken, curry goat, and plantains. The jerk chicken and curry goat were amazing, and the chicken had a really nice heat to it. The plantains weren't the best I've ever had but I still enjoyed them. The order was ready pretty quickly. I would not go there to eat in the restaurant--wasn't the greatest vibe and the person behind the counter didn't seem the nicest. It's definitely more of a take out joint.

This restaurant runs on Caribbean time.. which means-- late lol. We got there at 12:45pm, door locked, but a young woman opened up the door at 1:05pm. She said they're supposed to open at noon. They didn't have much food prepared and only had 3 options available (oxtail, curry chicken, & brown stew chicken). I will say, although none of the employees seemed pressed to move quicker despite the being so behind-- they were all very friendly. We ordered oxtail & curry chicken, but was given brown stew chicken instead of curry. I didn't bother letting the employee know since we had already been waiting for a while & needed to leave.The oxtail & chicken were super tender, which was great, but lacked spice and flavor. The rice was superrrrrrr sweet! I'm used to rice cooked in coconut milk-- but this rice seemed boiled in sweetened coconut cream-- it was like dessert honestly.To end on a good note-- they had no veggie Jamaican patties so we bought the beef and cheese one-- despite not having much filling, it was delicious and the crust was perfect! I'd go back just for the patties.

All i gotta say is this place is fantastic. Miss Renae was kind and amazing. It's my 1st time in a long time to try out jamaican food. Price: it's on point. We got 2 regular for $10.99 each. Comes w rice and veggie or plantains. We try the brown stew chicken and curry chicken. Both flavorful and fall off the bone. The tropical rice was fantastic and has a hint of smokiness to it. Service: we felt at home. Like eating at a family dinner. They treated us w kindness and respect. Hard to find these days in lost society.This small businesses had lots of locals and regular patrons stop by during our visit. You can tell how well they treat each customer like friends.Highly recommend this place. They also have a $7.19 smaller size (express size) and $5.99 for just rice and meat also in smaller size. Which are not advertised but just ask them.God bless this place and the ppl there

Went there for lunch. The door hours had been scratched off. The web stated hour open at noon. Doors locked no one inside. Car pulled up and asked if we wanted Jamaican food. We said yes. They said something came up and won't be ready for hour or more. We left.

The absolute bomb!! The food here is freaking amazing put me back on the island. Prices are reasonable but when you have the food you will forget about the price. Only reason why it was not five starts because the Coco bread was not made to order, it was Heather up in a microwave so by the time I got home it was hard as a rock!! Get everything but the Coco bread.

While driving around I spotted a Caribbean restaurant called Jonae's Island Twist. It's a nice place that offers the typical Jamaican cuisine at reasonable prices. You can get appetizers, breakfast dishes, vegan dishes, main entrees, lunch specials, chef specials, patties, sides, desserts, and much more. The restaurant is spacious with a calm atmosphere. I met this nice lady who took my order for a beef patty, which was nicely made with a flaky crust and peppery filling. I wish my stay was a bit longer. I would have liked to try their brown stew chicken and pasta dishes. Hopefully the business is still around when I decide to come back to the area.

Food is made to order. EVERYTHING was delicious. Definitely returning. The meats were so tender, so flavorful, & just made to perfection. Don't walk. RUN to eat here.

Visited this place June 6; I would recommend. Everything was good. I had brown stew chicken and curry goat. Both were tender and seasoned to perfection. My only issue is unlike other Jamaican style restaurants, they only give you rice and peas. Didn't get a side and it's a la carte. Beef patties and festival were so good.

The wait was horrible! I waited over 45 mins just to order. The place was hot and I was sweating like crazy. The staff was very rude! The menu was a bit hard to understand as they don't see add ins with certain dinners. I ordered the oxtails and they were extremely tough. The cook advised they had just come out of the pressure cooker and they were fresh. By the toughness they needed to be cooked for an hour or more. They were awful and that's being nice. The rice and peas were dry. The rice was hard. Basically it was the worst $30 I've ever spent in my life. And the service was just as bad as the food. To see a staff member yelling and walking off for a customer who didn't understand the menu really made me upset. They last walked out with no food she was so mad. I do not recommend and I definitely won't be back

My family and I went to get a few patties as we were looking for something light to eat. Well who told me order jerk chicken. It was soooo delicious and definitely a must have. The place was clean and the staff friendly. All the food looked good so we will be back next year to try more things on the menu.
