I love Jam Eng's hours - after going out down town it's the perfect late night snack. The oxtails were so tender and were more meat than bone (which we LOVE). There's a decent amount of seating, which is great because it gets busy. Staff are friendly.

More like a 3.5. Had the jerk chicken mini meal. $5 for rice and two pieces of chicken. The chicken was a bit cold but the value is too good to really knock it. Also tried the spicy beef patty which was incredible and the lovely lady who took our order threw in a chicken curry patty to try and it was also good. They're open late and I'd go back to try their other foods. The oxtail at the table next to us looked/smelled awesome.

Their vegan food is so good! They were out of fish, but we loved the chicken. One plate was plenty for two people.

This gave all the feels of a quick service restaurant. The oxtails were great with good flavor and gravy! I would have liked some additional seasoning on the cabbage but for people watching their salt intake, this allows you to add salt to your liking. It was warm in the restaurant but I rarely have been to a Caribbean restaurant that wasn't warm in the inside! Give it a go, you don't be disappointed.

2nd time coming here n so far everything has been delicious af!! From the cabbage, oxtails, jerk chicken is better than many places, and the beef patties are fresh and the star of the show!! I loove this place, can't wait to come back!

Went to Jam-Eng with a pretty big group, but the service was nevertheless incredibly quick! The food is absolutely amazing for the price, too-- $15 for a jerk chicken platter with two sides and a soda, including tip! Tasty as hell, especially the Jerk Chicken and the rice & beans. I gotta come back here soon.

An unlikely find in Orlando....a Jamaican/English fusion restaurant! However, it left a lot to be desired. The ambiance was difficult. The staff weren't welcoming or friendly. I thought this was just their way until a couple of regulars came in. This was when I saw the front staff actually smile and engage with customers. For us, he just would say there were things not on available as he walked by and disappeared to do another task. The decor is in need of renovations as it is dark and grubby in the restaurant. There are menus available, however most of the things we wanted to eat were unavailable and there was no signage indicating that there were missing items or that the menu was limited. On to the food. The vegan chicken was only available in their jerk flavor. The jerk flavor wasn't very jerk tasting. It was very much like an odd barbecue sauce. The sandwich was ok. The coco bread was pleasant, however the sandwich was super dry. It needed more sauce or something to moisten it. There were cucumbers on the sandwich which were fairly large in comparison to the rest of the veggies. The sandwich could've used more tomatoes and the addition of sliced onions would've been welcome. The rice and peas were oddly dry and peppery but needed more flavor and moisture. The hero of the food today were the patties. Flaky, fresh, well seasoned and delicious, the patties are what saved this from being a single star review. If you are looking for a restaurant where you will be welcomed by a warm experience with great food and customer service, this is not the space for you. If you enjoy good patties and aren't looking for a pleasant customer experience, this is the place for you...

Finding this place was such a treat, it is such a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warmest welcome by the friendly staff. We tried several dishes from their menu, and I must say, everything was absolutely delicious! My personal favorites are the oxtail, the Jamaican Beef Patty, and the Mac and cheese. If you're a fan of oxtail or curious, you really must try it here - it's cooked to perfection! And don't get me started on their Jamaican Beef Patty - it's so flavorful and the patties are always made fresh, they're one of their most popular items. One thing to note, though - make sure you get here early because their patties are so good that they always run out fast! But even if you miss out on the patties, there are plenty of other amazing options to choose from. The Mac & cheese pairs really well with all of their entrees, but all of their sides are great.The staff and manager were so sweet and passionate about what they do, which added to the overall experience. I can't wait to come back and try even more dishes from their menu!

Great place to grab lunch. The music was very nice, the service was quick and the staff were very nice. The food was authentic! Mouth watering and the flavour lingers in your tastebud! I highly recommend this place!

Jam Eng 5/6/2023Recommend? Ehhh.I would say that for the price there are probably better options in the area. I got the vegan "jerk" wings with rice and cabbage. The wings tasted like lightly bbq wings. In no way did it taste like it had jerk seasoning. Adding hot sauce to everything helped out this mediocre dish.
