Island Flamed Lucky Hibachi

I ordered a small oxtail plate with rice & beans and slaw. The oxtail was so flavourful, saucy and fall off the bone tender. The rice and beans had a very strong coconut milk flavour. The small size was more than enough and had 5-6 large pieces of oxtail. I also got the fried plantain and there were really good!

If you like hibachi and/or Caribbean food then do yourself a favor and check out Island Flamed! Jerk chicken is one of my favorite foods, and hibachi doesn't fall far behind, so this fusion concept jumped out to me. As it was my first time, I went with Jerk Chicken but opted for the hibachi style fried rice to make it a true Caribbean Hibachi meal. It also came with spicy cabbage which was fantastic. The jerk chicken was perfectly tender and moist and coated with jerk seasoning - which really made the fried rice a unique and enjoyable new flavor! I spent most of my meal talking with one of the operators (Lee) who couldn't have been nicer. He even brought me a sample of the Ackee and Saltfish to try. The menu is deep, including favorites like oxtail and curry goat, along with traditional teryaki and other hibachi flavors. I will definitely be back again to try more soon!

First time here. The food was very seasoned and came out hot. This was one of the most spiciest jerk chicken dish I have had but it was good! The portions are quite nice for the price. Customer service was very rigid but inside seemed clean with some Jamaican culture snacks for purchase.

I wish I tried one of the hibachi meals. It was weird seeing an hibachi West Indian restaurant, so I ordered the usual, cowfoot with white rice and steamed vegetables. It was just okay. I did like that they had a lot of Jamaican snacks, like Bun and Shandy. I will definitely try them again.

Went here to grab some lunch and everything was great. The service was fast. The owner was really really nice. I was able to get some shrimp hibachi for lunch, and I was able to grab the large oxtail plate, which was also good. Everything came out flavorful and hot. I will definitely be back as the lunch menu was really worth it. Inside was OK but I just grabbed my meal to go and everything turned out delicious. The place gives you island vibes as in Caribbean island vibes so it's nice that they have a twist hibachi to it.

Lately, the food has been off. Yesterday we placed a $50 order and we didn't enjoy more than half of it. The pineapple curry chicken was overcooked, hard, and dried out. The fried dumpling was hard. The barbeque wings were hard and had too much sauce covering them.And my avocado salad did not come with avocado but with a generous scoop of guacamole. The generous portion did not make any difference because I don't consume store-bought guac.And, to add insult to injury, they did not give me the side order of plantains I ordered which is probably the only dish that could have saved an order like this.

I really enjoyed the place. Get a lot of food for the money and the service was pretty fast. Interesting concept to have both different Couzines in one place but they make it work.

We had the ox tail and jerk chicken. Both were delicious. The jerk chicken had a nice kick. This place is a diamond in the ruff.

I've eaten here a few times and everytime I order the Ackee and Saltfish with never really had a bad experience until the time I ordered it and was presented with day old food. I make the dish myself but when I'm out and about I would stop there and grab a quick bite. The Ackee taste burnt and appeared to be the bottom of the pot portion but it was 8AM plus the provisions (boil dumpling, boil banana, and yam) was very dry in taste and looks. Unfortunately they have lost me as a customer moving forward and it's sad because I am a loyal customer but for this situation if I could give zero stars I would for the money and customer service that I experienced.
