Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders - Dr. Phillips

Don't think it'll make it beyond 2025. I used to eat at Huey Magoos regularly but started to OD and needed to give it a break. I've ordered from here three times during the month of January, and I have to say I've noticed a big change, and not for the better. "The Filet Mignon of Chicken" has turned into tenders that are consistently loaded with what most people refer to as "funky chicken". Lots of fat, strands of god-knows-what, and weird textures. The quality of their chicken has dropped and I doubt I'll be back. And if the interior of the restaurant is any indication of what's going on in terms of business health, I'd say my prediction is a safe bet.

Another great experience at this location. I got the five piece with the Texas toast, fries, coleslaw, and two HM sauces. Very, very, tasty. The pieces were a lot larger than I remembered prior so a much greater value. Remember, It's always much more convenient to order 10 to 15 minutes prior to pick up as you will lose that time while waiting in the restaurant. A+

Credit card machine took 4 times to work and the workers weren't very friendly, saying the machine had been problems all week. The chicken tenders were SO small, quite literally bite size. I would have thought it was a fluke, but all the tables around us had chicken looking the same size. For comparison, check out my photos for the size of the chicken compared to the slice of bread! The restaurant was freezing, but we didn't want to go outside because there was a wacky inflatable outside promoting the restaurant next door that was incredibly loud. My fries were cold, I definitely won't be coming back here again. I try not to be picky or complain, but this really was a terrible experience. The other Huey Magoo's in Orlando gives better size chicken and better quality service.

If you want something quick other than a burger this is a great option. Huey Magoo's serves chicken tenders, wraps, and salads. Chicken tenders are available as either fried or grilled and both taste good but I prefer the grilled. I only wish there were more side options to chose from. If you substitute the fries for salad it's an up charge. I feel that there shouldn't be an up charge to swap fries for a small salad or coleslaw; you don't always need to eat fries with every meal. Service has been good. Staff friendly and pretty accommodating. The ambiance is accommodating for a quick, casual bite, but I normally get my food to go. This is my go to for a quick affordable meal.

Came here for a quick dinner, while waiting for the food I noticed one of the kitchen workers with gloves on eating while preparing the food for customers. Gave it a one star due to that unsafe and not sanitary at all. Ambiance is casual and great for a quick meal.

Fried Chicken. Fries.Garlic Bread.Sounds like an easy lunch win for everyone. Be sure you're not in a super rush. All of the food is made to order, so if there is a line, you'll have to wait your turn to get the food. That's not a bad thing, since you know it's going to be fresh...and piping hot!

We recently discovered a new favorite place! After trying Cane's, some friends suggested Huey Magoo's instead, and we were pleasantly surprised. The chicken there is incredibly juicy and crispy, and the fries and chicken are perfectly seasoned. The bread has a delightful combination of buttery, soft, and crisp textures. The coleslaw is fresh and adds a nice touch to the meal. Moreover, the customer service we received was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We're excited to return in the future!

I first had Huey Magoo's over in champions gate! I love this place!! The service at the dr. Phillips location is always friendly and guest oriented. The food is so so good - I've never had anything less than fresh here. I get the 3 piece grilled chicken sauced in sweet heat meal and it is around $8. Pros: quick and friendly, plenty of seating for a smaller joint, free Wi-Fi and a really good food. Cons: you have to pay for any condiments (ranch, Magoo's sauce etc) and the meals don't come with drinks (separate $3 charge) Overall, I'd recommend Huey Magoo's if you're in the area and looking for a delicious chicken place with even better fries :)

Uber eats already refunded me but I ordered the buy one get one deal on the 5 tenders meal. I was supposed to get 10 tenders, two chips, two breads, and two coleslaw. What I received is 3 tenders, fries, and one bread. No coleslaw. I don't think I'll be ordering again.

We have only done takeout but the tenders were so good. Crispy but tender and very flavorful. Ready when they said it would be. So many sauces! Very happy with this place.
