Guavate Puerto Rican Eatery and Bistro

I don't think it's a bad spot to come to, I'm sure it's a local hit. My bro n law recommended this place and it just wasn't the same hit for me like it was for him. AC wasn't working. Food came out cold, we asked for them to do something about it and it felt like they didn't do anything. Food at least flavor. There's a guy that sings and plays piano. He's so funny, he goes around asking for request but doesn't perform any song that anyone asked him. The entrance is a little confusing, but we made it and we won't be back. Staff is ok. Not very accommodating or very nice. I think the lack of AC had them in a mood. Won't be back!

We made a reservation for Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm for a high school graduation for my daughter and niece, they ruined the whole celebration. I walked in after my family and quickly went to decorate the tables that is when owner 1 came up and started questioning how many people in the party. I was taken back at the unprofessional greeting. I informed her that I spoke to the manager Neil and he confirmed our reservations for a party of 14. She then responded that he did not have the authority and he had only been with them two days. I then proceeded to ask if she wanted us to leave which she said be patient as they only have one server. We were extremely patient and understanding to the point that we spoke to the server in Portuguese as she was from Brazil and so was part of my family. The audacity of these owners to blame us and tell us we were not being understanding is appalling. The facts are:We made reservations. We waited two hours without our orders being taken. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We got our beverages and waited. Then the second owner came to our table to share more excuses. I asked for bread in which the owner told me that the server had to heat it up and that she was going to ask her then she came back and told me they had no bread when I saw it in the kitchen. It was all lies, and they purposely did not give us service so that we could walk out and ruined my niece and daughter's graduation dinner. Instead of staring at us and harassing us at the table maybe the two owners could've stepped up the game and gone in the kitchen or serve drinks while the poor server was running around doing everything.In these two hours we never got food while other tabes got food. They told the server to ignore our table and that is why we left after two hours. The facts are they got talking about us and we left after two hours. They committed credit card fraud when they changed my father's credit card for $400. You have been reported to the Business Bureau. If you keep up the false accusations I will take legal matters. This is your notice. I would give it zero stars if I could. We went to Los Reyes and they were very welcoming, will recommend it for any family

Doesn't appear to be open? Nobody answers the phone and the doors are closed. Reservation link on website appears inactive.

Dont waste your time. A poorly ran establishment that seems to be on the down-slope. To bad as we had hoped it would have been really great.

What a fun lively place this is! You know it's located inside the Citrus Tower where there's an attendant for you to buy tickets to go up on the observation deck, the observation deck is the point of Citrus Tower, right? Not anymore! Inside there, where you purchase tickets, maybe get some coffee too, beyond the smoked doors is Guavate. What a find! The service, the awesome ambiance, the delicious food is all that and a bag of chips! Pictures speak for themselves, everything was superb. The only thing that wasn't a 10 was the tostones, they were a little soggy and a bit oily. Instead of a solid 5 stars let's deduct a 1/4 of a star, with the hopes of improvement on our certain next visit. Buen Provecho!

True authentic Puerto Rican cuisine! It feels like we are eating back on the island when we came to eat here for the first time. I haven't found anyone that makes the red sangria and food like they do here in Florida with exception to pal campo. They were so accommodating to our 10 month old baby as well as he loves his rice and beans! I think this is going to be our new favorite go to. If you are from PR, know what true and authentic PR cuisine tastes like, then you will not be disappointed.

Food was not authentic, bland , lacking flavor. Had the mofongo con camarones , rice and beans had no flavor, pernil was salty , drinks were bad too and to top it off the service was bad. DO not recommend this place. If you want good P.R food cilantrillo In Orlando/Kissimmee is still the best

If I could leave a zero 0 for food I would. I couldn't tell you because we patiently waited two hours and never got anything, including bread. Then, we complained and the owner said she had now idea about our reservation. She put the blame on a worker, I don't care who took the reservation, if you couldn't take our group you should have told us from the beginning. The second owner then tells the waitress to focus on the other group who got there after us. They got served and finished their food. When my father went to pay for our drinks because we had enough, they charged my father for the food we never got. Before I left I told the owners that their business practices sucked and before long they will be out of business. This ruined our graduation party.Oh if you leave a negative review get ready for them to have a quick response on why they were right about everything. They should get shut down. Their business practices are not ethical my adult children heard them say don't worry about that party, referring to us, and focus on this one. They need to be investigated. Also, if you want to eat there you have to be a member. They will write your name down and let you know if they have room for you. What type of establishment is this? I should have known better. Never again. It gives Puerto Ricans a bad name and reputation. Please stay away.

Anyone who says this is authentic Puerto Rican food just like the island has never truly had our cuisine.I ordered the Plato navideño, the pernil was bland it needs garlic, black pepper and oregano. The pastel and arroz con gandules tasted like they had put some vinegar in it, not a good combination.I couldn't figure out why there were four employees and only one was working as the hostess and waitress.I always visit local small businesses to support them, but I honestly can't rate this establishment more than one star. Wish them luck and hopefully they were having an off night.

I've eaten at this place since it opened. I love the service, food and environment. The decorations take me back to Puerto Rico! The fact that the owners and at times the cook stops by at our table to speak with us is really nice. The food is very flavorful. I love that they always check in to make sure everything is good. We always give our honest opinion on what we order and how our dining experience is to the owners. I love that they listen to our feedback. I highly recommend Guavate Eatery and Bistro. By the way, our Valentine Evening Dinner was a hit!
