Another amazing lunch at Fire on the Bayou! I tried something different today, a catfish dish with seared shrimp and "dirty" rice. It was absolutely to die for. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful with our plate modifications, and was kind enough to make us a drink to go. This place continues to impress me, not only in food quality, but also in the care the waiters put into their tables, the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant, and the flavors I doubt you could find half as good anywhere else in Central FL! This is THE spot for Cajun food.

First time here at the Bayou and I say it was very good!! It's a really small restaurant but it was very cozy. The food was fantastic. I had gumbo for the first time and definitely want to get back there and have more. My wife had the voodoo tacos and they were delicious and also the gator bites can't be left out.Our server was very friendly and did a great job especially with pretty much doing most everything by herself. The wait for the food was reasonable and no complaints here as well.I recommend checking it out!!

My last visit was several years ago and thought it'd give it another go. I've gone a handful of times and haven't been very impressed. Unfortunately I think I'm done trying. Credit where credit's due, it's a neat space and the staff are nice. But the food is just not worth a return trip. We had the boudin ball appetizer which were fried hard outside but a bit mushy inside and quite salty. The pepper jelly it was served with definitely helped temper the salt but it just didn't really spark any excitement as a whole. I've eaten boudin alone and much prefer it that way. The crawfish étouffée was delicious and had perfectly cooked crawfish tails which were plentiful. The Taste of NOLA is a great option to try three iconic Cajun dishes - but only one was worth eating. The jambalaya was still a bit salty but nicely seasoned and everything was cooked well from tender shrimp to andouille sausage coins with crispy edges. The red beans and rice had a bitter taste not quite vinegary but similar and no smoky, unctuous flavor that I'm used to. It might be because the andouille is served on top and not cooked in with it? Finally, the gumbo was inedible due to an off flavor, almost acrid? I've made roux before and it's almost like the oil was off or a spice was added too early and burned. When the waiter asked how things were I pointed out my concerns and he said he'd see what he could do. The bill came and nothing was done. We paid, tipped him well (food wasn't his fault) and left. It's disappointing because we don't have a lot of unique cuisines in our area. Plenty of people have high praise for this place so maybe it's just my personal tastes in play here. I'd say do give it a shot and make your own opinion. Maybe their burgers and po boys are excellent?

Sandwiches were large and tasty; there was only one server who was doing a fantastic job of keeping up with all the tables; the decor and vibe made us not expect much, but we were surprised at the quality. Nice find.

I took my mom here because she loves bread pudding and I used to absolutely hate bread pudding. My whole entire life, well 40 years in, I ran into their bread pudding here and they made me a believer. Now, my mom finally had a chance to taste all that I've been raving about and she said it should be a crime to have bread pudding that taste that good. She's not going to order any other bread pudding for anyone else from now on.Everything was amazing and had so much flavor. I'm surprised that any place in Orange City has this much flavor. I highly recommend.

Stopped in here after my last bodybuilding show for the 2024 season! I researched everything around the area with the help of my Yelp app and man, did we find a gem?! Love the atmosphere, the staff as well who were very knowledgeable with the menu and encouraging us to step outside our comfort zone to trying different foods!

Okay this may be my new favorite spot for Cajun pasta! I just landed back home from the sfb airport. I was craving pasta and my parents wanted seas food. So I did my yelp research and came across this restaurant. It's very cute and is in a residential area. Our server Wesley was amazing to us and radiated such positive energy. The onion rings were perfect, they're big but it's not filling so you can enjoy your entree. I already want to go back and have the pasta again. My parents enjoyed their food. My mom couldn't stop raving about their fish tacos. My dad also couldn't stop raving about how plump the shrimp were! We can't wait to go back

My husband and I visited this establishment on our vacation to Orlando this past week. I got crab leg clusters with corn & potatoes; mild seasoning and garlic butter. It was delicious! My husband also very much enjoyed the jambalaya. Service staff were great and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Ambience reflects a NOLA VIBE.

Quaint spot, very friendly waitress, good tasting appetizers those are on the positive side. If family wasn't visiting from out of state and picked this place, I would not have stayed for dinner. Why? Because I've heard mixed reviews and wanted to dine elsewhere whereby the reviews are consistently favorable. But the bigger reason why I wouldn't have dined here is because the ladies room toilet was deplorable. Trying to give benefit of doubt, it's true a patron could've just left it in utter disgust but because it only accommodates one, I told the staff. They were super busy and could not address it before I needed relief so I attempted to use the male facility. It was locked and I'm speculating because it was out of order. That said, is the staff complying with proper sanitation? Ok, and now to the entrees. There were five of us with only one being a child. The teenager ate his chicken sandwich but didn't care for the fries. I ordered the crawfish & rice and thought it was plated to be pleasing to the eye that's where the beauty ended. It was an absolutely boring dish. My niece ordered some kind of platter that had BREADED FISH...well, you get the point with that. She said the breading was good but of course we didn't expect to pay for cornmeal. The potential for this restaurant based on location and venue could be awesome but it's not.
