F&D Cantina - Lake Mary, FLMy husband and I decided to try F&D Cantina Mexican Restaurant for a lunch date, and we were thoroughly impressed! Nestled in a lovely plaza right next to AMStar Cinema, it's a perfect spot for a meal before or after a movie. The exterior is inviting, with charming string lights and plants setting a cozy ambiance. Inside, it's even more stunning--romantic with dim lighting, an open and modern look, and perfect for both date nights and family outings. Plus, it's wheelchair accessible, with flat pavement leading right up to the entrance.Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Carmen, who was incredible. She catered to my dietary restrictions with ease, making sure I had lactose-free options. My husband ordered the Mexican pizza, and he couldn't stop raving about it! Packed with veggies, meat, and stringy cheese, it was one of the best Mexican pizzas he's had. I went with the fajita taco salad, swapping the crispy tostada bowl for lettuce as a lower-calorie option. The chicken breast was perfectly juicy and seasoned, and the avocado added a fresh, delicious touch. It was filling and flavorful--definitely a 10/10 meal.My husband also tried the barbacoa burrito, but his favorite remained the Mexican pizza. Both dishes were beautifully presented, and we appreciated how much care was put into each plate. The general manager, B. Morrison, even stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking--a thoughtful gesture that added to the experience. The ambiance outside with string lighting and floral arrangements was just as beautiful as inside. The bathrooms were clean, with handicap access and a baby-changing station, which is always a plus. The hot sauces on the table were fantastic, especially the habanero chipotle and the habanero peach--both full of flavor and just the right amount of heat.Overall, the pricing was reasonable, around the $20 mark, and the atmosphere made it a perfect place for a date. Between the food, service, and ambiance, this is definitely a spot we'll return to!

The atmosphere is great. The music was solid. The decor was fun and cool. The service was very good. The food was very middle of the road and didn't seem to have a lot of flavor. Our group tried a little bit of everything, including the trio dip starter, and it was all just OK. The salsa was a low spot. The quac was passable. The queso was ok. The beans were nondescript. The meats were good, but didn't have any oomph. We had various tacos and enchiladas and they were all ok. Everything was cooked well and presented nicely. We're all fans of their Italian concepts, but I guess this just wasn't our thing. The restaurant itself and the staff were great.

This was our first and last visit. We stopped here as a family of six to eat while on a trip. The food is very bland, and it seems the chefs might be from up north because nothing was seasoned at all. Be prepared to pay extra for chips and salsa, but the portion of chips wasn't even enough to finish the salsa. The cheese and guacamole were decent, though. This place is definitely different. We ordered Mexican bowls, trio fajitas, and other items, but everything tasted the same due to the lack of seasoning. The beans had no flavor and were more like canned refried beans. We asked for extra queso and chips, and although the waitress said she would bring them, she never returned with them. The food is overpriced (one glass of tea costs $4). On a positive note, the restaurant is clean, has a nice and inviting environment, and our waitress was friendly. However, we would not visit again.Tourist trap!

This place was busy but the service was quick m, drinks were good and food was very tasty. I had the passion fruit and prickly pear marg. The prickly pear was better and had more flavor. We tried the dip trio with a green salsa side. Then me and my step daughter split the app combo it had empanadas, flautas, bacon jalapeños , and spin dip. All so good and hot the cilantro sauce to dip items in was so good like you could put it on a shoe and it would be good. My partner had the trio fajita and street corn. He loved the meats and the corn and all the sides. This place is legit and very tasty. We will def go back when in town next time. The area is great to walk around on also

We went on a Sunday around 4:45 pm. and it was a couple weeks before Christmas. The bar was full and they weren't seating anyone at tables until 6:00. We were seeing a play in the area at 6:00 so we were just hoping a coupe bar seats would open up quickly because we really had a hankering for Mexican food. We waited about 10-15 minutes and had to start out sitting separately until the very nice bartender asked a single patron if they would mind switching so we could sit together. That was a positive. We ordered and it didn't take very long at all to get our order. We both got the chicken burritos. They either come with black beans or records beans on the inside of the burrito and we were told that was more delicious than the black beans. What we weren't told was that you get beans and rice on the outside of the burrito, too. Therefore, it was rice and refried beans galore. The sad part was that we hardly got any chicken at all. It was disappointing. In addition; the tortilla chips were pretty good, but the sauces were both just ok, as well. Overall, the value just wasn't there.

We were wanting to have Mexican and although I wasn't really hungry, the camaraderie had me go anyway. We were visiting from NY and CT and this restaurant was close to our hotel, in walking distance. Upon entering, I could smell the delicious sizzling of fajitas. The decor was modern and drew us in, very interesting exterior although nothing declaring Mexican as far as I could tell. We were acknowledged quickly by the server and a table prepared for us. Within minutes of sitting our waiter came to great us to take drink orders. We were quickly ready to place our order and had the salsa and chips trio. We wanted to try the doble shot for $5 that was advertised but were told there was fine print associated with it. I looked closely at the table advertisement and there was noting that spoke to that. False advertising, and we ended up paying $8 for the shots. That was not nice. I ordered the fajitas, steak and shrimp, my grandson has a burrito and my girlfriend had a chimichanga type which she thoroughly enjoyed. We all enjoyed the food, although my girlfriend did send her screwdriver back as it didn't taste like a screwdriver at all, and I confirmed. Overall the food was excellent but it's hard to unsee a special that is clearly advertised (see for yourself) that we were denied as the server said we had to take a survey to get it. No where did it say that. Also, as. Yepler, I checked in and qualified for a free salsa and chip appetizer but when I asked they said they'd have to speak to management and we never heard back. The whole discount/free appetizers scenario made it for a bad experience customer service wise, although our server was not seemingly to blame. For that reason I'd reconsider a return visit as the bait and switch is an old trick that is frowned upon.

Taco Tuesday Delight at F&D Cantina I recently had the pleasure of dining at F&D Cantina on Taco Tuesday, and it was an experience to remember! The tacos were absolutely fantastic, especially with the addition of their incredible green salsa. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced--truly a taco lover's dream! What really stood out to me, though, was the exceptional service. Bartender Katelynn was nothing short of amazing. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the best margaritas I've ever had. Her friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening.I also had the pleasure of the manager always welcoming me home, Morris, who was equally impressive. He greeted us with a warm smile and made sure we felt right at home. His friendly nature and dedication to ensuring a great dining experience were evident throughout my visit.Overall, F&D Cantina offers delicious food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to return for another Taco Tuesday! Highly recommended!
